[NSW] Dairy Farmers Full Cream Milk 2L $1.30 (Was $3), Lite White $1.70 (Was $4), Riverina $1.80 (Was $3) @ Woolworths Chatswood

440

Branded fresh milk with plenty of shelf-life is on clearance at Woolworths Chatswood (OzBargain's de facto capital). Great for meatheads like me who consume copious quantities of animal protein every day just to maintain a muscular physique for superficial purposes.

Product Price Original Price Discount Price Per Litre Expiry
Dairy Farmers Full Cream Milk 2L $1.30 (Was $3) 56.7% $0.65/L 04/04/19
Dairy Farmers Lite White Milk 2L $1.70 (Was $4) 57.5% $0.85/L 06/04/19
Riverina Fresh Full Cream Milk 2L $1.80 (Was $3) 40.0% $0.90/L 10/04/19

I wouldn't be surprised if the Dairy Farmers Skim Milk 2L was also on clearance (it didn't have a price tag when I was there).

Cow's milk is a nutritious source of highly absorbable protein, vitamin B12, vitamin D and calcium. But various chilled plant drinks were also available for a much higher price and lower discount if you're into that sort of thing…

Didn't Woolies just put their milk proceed up to help the farmers? These prices are well below the $1/litre price that was causing all of the concern in the first place.

This is shows the hidden suffering behind a simple glass of milk:

But if I don't watch it, I'll never know.

How can it be hidden if there's a YouTube video about it?

      • It is hidden suffering as all one sees is a glass of milk.
The suffering involved in getting that milk is hidden.

The video explaining this is not hidden.

I value the life of plants more than the animals. I love plants, so I don't eat them, not because I hate my veggies…

I love plants, so I don't eat them

so, you eat animals that eat them? Great logic.

        • +1

Yes, the more animal he eat, the less animal there will be therefore less plan get eaten by animal.

        • +1

But plants eat animals dissolved in soil. Does that mean eating plants is just like eating animals? I'm confused…

If farmers get good income due to favourable conditions such as rain / policies, would they return or shows similar favour to donate 10c to support city people?

    • +1

They might if they can get a tax break for doing so. In my experience, most farmers won't do anything without some sort of tax concession.

Thank you for your continuing auto-psychoanalysis - I see it's been about a year. Take heart scrooge: only a couple more stages to go and then you'll be comfortably done with stealing other babys' milk to stay on top of the food chain.

    • Cabramatta?

      • I’m in ACT. Next step up from Coles/woolies brand is devondale @ $4. Come to think of it I buy 3L at a time so it could explain the price.. lol

"Lite White" sounds like a future dystopian milk substitute.

It's milk (hopefully), what other colour would it be?

      Cream.

Expiry date of the bottles in the photo is 04 April (just over a week from now). Make sure you can finish it before then. Families and couples should have no issues, but single dwellers should do some maths.

If you want to be extra anal, don't forget to compare the expiry dates on the bottles at the very back of the shelf with the ones at the front.

    • Even as a single dweller you couldn't do much better than this. Assuming you can drink 1L in a week, this is basically the same price as a 1L carton.
