    why 14" not 15.6" :(

  • Quite heavy for a 14", people in that category are usually looking for portability. Decent specs tho, and a good price.

  • I have this machine and its great. Has grunt for alll my needs. Sleek looking and portable as well. Paid $798 and got $99 cashback from Acer. This was probably 6 months ago.

  • claim is really gay slow. lodged claim 3 weeks ago and status is still 'Estimated completion date: 18 June 2011'

  • There's newer 2nd gen i-core systems for similar money. The HD3000 is very close to the 4741G's GT320M in performance but delivers bettery battery life. There are bang-per-buck imho:

    $615 14" Lenovo E420 i3-2310M 2.1 4GB 250GB W7HP
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/44552 (or $661 for a HD3000+HD6630 switchable gpu version)

    $700* 14" Asus K43E i3-2310M 2.1 4GB 500GB W7HP
http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/computers-laptops/laptops/asu… (*JB stores can still do this for $628 as per last week's 10% off sale after some minor haggling)

  • Not bad at all. The GT320 is basically the equivalent of the old GeForce 9600M GT from 2007.
Only real difference is that the GT320 is made on the 40nm process and has slightly faster core/memory/shader clock speeds.

Should be useful as a media center rig or for playing older titles.
