As usual, expecting AMAY50 in the next two days

I guarantee you nothing will change in the next two days :)

  • I'm guessing there's no better 'cheap SIM' deal around for 6 months?

  • Does anyone know how they determine new customer. I have a prepaid sim with them - the credit expires in a couple of weeks. Can I but this deal and get a new service and be classed new customer?

    • +1

      new email account

      • Are you sure about this? Can anyone confirm?

        • +5

I can confirm, must be new email account that you have not used with Amaysim before, but all other personal details like name, address, D.O.B, payment method, can be the same as previous. But you must be porting in from another service provider, so if you are currently with Amaysim you will have to port out to Kogan or someone else, and then port back in.

    • port out - port in

    • +3

Yes as others have said you need to port out and then back in again. And all you need to do to sign up again is use a different email address.

You could port out to Telstra by getting a free sim online. After you port out you need to sign up to Amaysim again (with the new email address). Amaysim will then send you the sim card and this will likely take 3 to 4 days to arrive so while you wait you would either need to not make any calls or use the internet or you would need to buy a plan. Telstra no longer offers the Day2Day plan (which would have been ideal) so Telstra is not a good option anymore.

Previously (4 months ago) I used the same email for a groupon 4 month voucher, new service (ported out before).. already had another existing service on the same email during the process too.
It worked for me back then.

So are they trying to build their customer base for a potential sell off/acquisition?

  • I am still confused. I already have a service with Amaysim. Can I have another service under a different account/email as a "new customer"?

    • Yes, see the comments above.

  • Can I port a number from optus to amaysim for this deal? I know Amaysim use optus network.

  • Last time I did this, I had to wait days for the new Amaysim sim to arrive. What's the faster way of activating a new sim?

    • +1

Just buy a sim card and contact live chat, up and running in 4 hours maximum.

OK, I was able to add a new service I am porting in to an existing Amaysim service using this voucher. So a "new customer" means a new number from outside. Thank you guys.

  • Great deal price wise but sick of Amaysim having these stupid conditions where you have to activate the sim within weeks of purchasing it. I Would actually sign up with them but I’m not going just leave my current phone plan before my contract is up for this this deal. I’m sure a bunch of people on the Kogan 365 deal that might even switch but Amaysim doesn’t offer much flexibility here.

I stil have not received mine from the previous deal, and my account shows that they have already started counting down my days.

No tracking so no idea what they are up to.

  • Sorry, noob questions - so will Groupon send out amaysim SIM card once we make the purchase on Groupon website (via the link on Shopback or Cashreward sites)?

Once we receive the SIM, we then go to the Amaysim website to activate the SIM and redeem the voucher and that's when we choose to port from another provider or get a new number?

The process seems a bit different to buying a SIM directly from Amaysim in that if you buy directly, you choose to port or get a new number when you make the purchase, not when you receive the SIM.

    • No and no. Go to the deal page and follow the steps listed under "How to redeem".

  • Is this offer expired or still going on? As when you click the link and go to group on page..its still giving you option to buy it? Anyone knows?

    • The 25% discount code has expired. Can still be purchased at $9.95 through, which is still a good deal.

  • Does anyone know what happens if I stop the auto renew before the 6 renewals are used up?
Is it possible to go for say… about three months, then pause for a month, before resuming?

    • +1

it auto renew and ther is no way to stop
