    $229.99 phone for 1GB ram in 2019.
Good luck with multi tasking, the iPhone 6 is practically outdated in 2019. Better phones out there with that price range

To be fair, old iPhone models perform exceptionally well for their specs. Android covers up a more flexible platform with much higher spec hardware. Apple develops much closer to the metal so gets better performance for lower specs.

          Do you disagree with that?

He has a point though, the iPhone 6 on iOS 12 is still fairly quick for such an old device. $230 is a bit much for one in 2019 I'd agree with, but you don't have to be a fanboy to see that older iOS devices do tend to be faster than Android devices with equivalent specs (1GB RAM).

          • @chihaeru: Personally, I wouldn't buy either platform's used 2014 model for hundreds of dollars
Asking for problems and bad value

          • @chihaeru: Hi iPhone user here.
While what you and incipient wrote is technically true.
The phone in the deal being an old 16GB used/refurbished, selling for $200 is a real stretch (scraping the bottom of the barrel).
It is currently supported by iOS 12 for now (which has been optimised for older specs), the software update support for the 6 is probably short lived though and with 1GB RAM you are really on the edge of running/keeping open certain apps as they become optimised for newer models.

People may think this is a cheap option, but in reality you will probably end up upgrading sooner than you think.
I would steer clear of this one, and would be surprised if anyone actually buys one.

      • Also turns out many of us probably had the battery issue.

New or refub? Make up your mind =p

    • +1

Genuine, refurbished, unlocked, sealed!!! Don't you get it!?

      • Haha they updated the post! The website still says new. At the time my comment made sense =p

This is a genuine, new, unlocked

      • How can a used phone be sealed?

        • +1

Shrink wrap machine. Like all the other dodgy sellers passing off old used phones as new or refurbished.

How much for an A++++ model?

  • +1

16gb with less than that actually usable will be an issue i can think of

You would need to rely on iCloud features a lot.
I just got a refurb 6+ 16GB for my mother in-law . A big upgrade from the Nokia windows phone I had bought her years ago. She doesn’t need the latest bells and whistles, hardly takes any photos. Would not use it for video and music and probably thinks it’s the latest. On iOS 12 eems more responsive than my daughters 6+ did on ios10
Easily txt, email and call her friends, and share photos. iCloud takes care of photo storage. The most sophisticated thing she would use is find my iPhone, or more correctly, we use it to find her.

That said, I would have been happy with more, like 32GB, but I will only spend so much on the mother in law.

how is apple keeping their price high for years and years on? are isheep actually buying and keeping it high or they just refuse to drop price?

    • +3

iPhones are still useable years later since Apple will support them with updates, unlike most Androids that are EOL after 2 or so years. Also, people that use the iSheep remark are, well, sheep. I guess you're still waiting for someone to come up with a new "insult".

Well, that is when Apple don't limit the power of them to preserve battery life…

        • +1

Should have someone use their 4-year-old phone at max power and see how long before the battery turns into fireworks.
