Filters need to be replaced every 4 months and are $65 each….

Should probably say 'HN big buys' in title not Harvey Norman.

You're being a bit pedantic it's still Harvey Norman

      • imo 'HN' makes it sound like the actual stores though

maybe so in your opinion, but clicking the link will make it obvious.
is there anyone out there who sees a bargain and rushes straight to the store without checking the link? (any deal not just this one) give ozbargainers some credit, Im sure they're not that stupid.

  • No bargain - too dear! Oh, save $390? My back side…

  • Where is this saving coming from? They have never sold the product at $590 odd…. Pretty sure you are not allowed to advertise a saving on a was/now if you don't have a sales history on the was. Jb and bigw amongst others have had big trouble in the past with this kind of thing.

Plus $65 for filters everyone months! Crazy expensive. Just get a brita jug

  • In my opinion the quality of our tap water is more than good enough in most parts of Australia for the majority of people, and we don't need water filters like this. But if you happen to live in an area with poorer water quality, it might be alright. The manufacturers website does show it for $588 http://www.amazingwater.com.au/product.html with free delivery.

But I really have no idea what you'd normally pay for something of this size that does both hot and cold.

These things have been on OzB before:
      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/41022

I seem to recall the manufacturer/distributor spamming here once too…something about free upfront if you signed up for XXmonths hire-purchase deal, but that was at their 'reduced' price of $599 from RRP of $999 or something outlandish…it got negged into oblivion pretty rapidly! ;)

  • Hi guys, (un?)official representative for BiG BUYS here, thanks for providing this feedback (I know you don't do it for us).

I only just noticed that this had been posted, and had a simple question for anyone that cares to answer. If we could provide the filters cheaper, would that change the strength of this deal?

Perhaps, especially given that the warranty apparently mandates four-monthly changes…

**1 year warranty is available to customers as long as the cooler’s service plan is maintained with a filter change every four months*

…they'd wanna be a hell of a lot cheaper! ;)

Thanks for taking the time StewBalls(LOL) to respond, it's really useful to give this feedback to the folks that do our buying and source our deals. :=)

No probs, FWIW I have a similar Aldi cooler that has $35 filters which are recommended to be replaced not according time interval, but by approximate throughput.

I can't remember the figure off the top of my head, 450 litres is ringing a bell…but they do also offer an approximate time this may take, IIRC 6-8 months; however, the 2yr warranty for the cooler itself is not contingent upon this! :)

        • Another strange "can't edit what I want and can't reply to what I want thing".

The warranty point is well taken, I'm just passing this info across to the buyers now so that they keep an eye on things like this. Thanks again have a good Wednesday and rest of the decade for that matter. After 2020 you're on your own though :)

Don't worry oztrez, it's not just you; the site has been changed fairly recently; once you hit 4 levels deep in a thread now that's as far as you can go with replies!

          Cheers! :)
