Yarra Trams missed their punctuality targets for March 2019 so anyone with a Myki pass of >= 28 days and used it for at least 10 days in March 2019 can apply for compensation by filling in their online form.

I didn’t qualify for Metro Trains but think I am eligible for compensation from Yarra Trams. Please note unlike the Metro Trains compensation, they do not tell you if you are eligible instantenously after completing the form. It says they will let you know within “20 business days”.

My thoughts are there should be more awareness, if not automated, of these compensation schemes as I am not aware most of the time.

      They have lower targets too.

      That said, trams are subject to traffic that trains are not.

    Another compensation post… This is not a bargain, it's an announcement of compensation.

    Similar to making an insurance claim.

      Concept is good, but the transport operators (Metro, Yarra, and the bus operators) do not have access to the ticketing system data (which is the basis of qualification for customer compensation).

      The performance targets are between the government and the operators. The operators are penalised by the government.

      The government then handles the compensation to customers.

    What about those Myki Money users who only travel a few days a week on public transport… because they drive or ride a bike the other days because they’re sick of the dismal PT service. Choice of bus replacement service or a very slow moving long tram journey on an overcrowded tram?

    Yarra trams used to check if your ticket was validated in the tram network and deny claims if you didn’t validate. At least one benefit of having trams made free is that there isn’t a requirement to touch in anymore!

    @00 I think you can still submit an individual claim if the day you were travelling, there were long delays.
