$40 is great price especially from first choice.

Currently it says $48 on special hot price which is a bit silly

      But what's wrong with average whisky at a good price! Chivas is a quite drinkable blend, unlike some of its similar price equivalents, so this is a way to enjoy a dram while saving the nice single malts for those real thinking evenings :)

      I think its highly overrated, people here the name Chivas and automatically put it in a higher category

      What’s to wrong with mixing it with coke anyway, you can still taste whisky through it taste is pretty strong.

      Monkey Shoulder is so much worth the extra money. I wouldn't call it a "cheapy blend" - as a blend of single malts Monkey Shoulder is a giant leap from even an aged blend of malt & grain such as the Chivas 12 year old and at $50 is great value for money (compared to the price of single malts) IMHO.

        I read a review that described Monkey Shoulder as a "one note" whisky, where the one note is just right. And I think that's exactly right. Not complex, but seriously well implemented.

      Monkey shoulder or Dimple any day or Chivas. I don't see MS on sale that often though. Jameson Irish Whisky is a nice drop as well if you like smooth drinks.

    Too many whisky snobs I think. Whisky's are a personal taste, you just need to find a blend you like. Chivas 12 is good, daily go to bottle. $40 is a very good price, you can easily see this bottle for as much as $65 when not on special. So this is a steal. Will grab myself a 6 pack.
