  • nice thanks

Better than the GOTD version because it is free to install at a later date (as many times as you like)…

  • thanks… nice find :)

No EXT4. What does it do that a Gparted live cd can't?

    • wouldn't use a prog nobody's heard of on my part.

        You've never heard of Easus?

IF you're doing much in the way of disk management, (imaging, partition, data recovery, etc) definitely a company to acquaint yourself with.

It works under Windows. So you don't have to stuff-arse around rebooting to Linux and using obscure interfaces.

Plus you can resize partitions on the fly without any reboot.

If you are happy with some geeky, clunky, cobbled-together thing like Gparted, then you don't really need this. :-D

Re: EXT4 - if you are using Linux as your main OS, then you really don't need this either (it's a Windows program).

Gparted is hardly "cobbled together". It's, in most instances, vastly superior to EASEUS's partition manager. It just doesn't have the convenience of being runnable from within Windows.

        • +1

Of course Gparted is superior, but not many people have the need for all those obscure functions that they need to actually understand to use anyway. They just need something that does the job - create, resize and format drive partitions.

No way I would boot my machine to Linux just to do partition management. I reboot my machine every 6 months or so when it crashes, not simply to do partition management, defragging, etc. The reason is simple… because I don't NEED to. :-)

I've been using computers long enough to know that choosing the easiest, most efficient and effective program for each task is the way to go. It's the same concept as why to choose IrfanView rather than Photoshop to use as an image viewer. Photoshop is "better" for editing, but that isn't the task at hand.

However, if you ARE a Linux user and ARE comfortable with Linux-based tools, then Easeus is not the right tool for you anyway. As you say in the other post, they both have their place :-)

      Runs from Windows.
      Both have their place.

  • Have long used it (free version). Love it. Great for resizing virtual machine drives on the fly.

  • Love this software, easeus (easiest) to use

  • The article mentions partition copying. Is this a suitable replacement for Norton Ghost? When I install a new OS & standard programs for my PC I like to take an image of the drive (whether it be to a USB HDD or spanned DVD set) so I can quickly restore if anything goes wrong. Is this suitable?

  • I tried this program about 3 days ago . I was trying to clone a usb drive to another identicle usb drive but it simply wouldn't work . The drive was half ntfs half Wii . I'm sure it's fine for normal partitions but anything out of the ordinary not so good .

  • Perfect timing, was looking at software to partition my drive on a Vista laptop! It's such a pain in Vista, hopefully this does the job…

  • cheers!

  • I have not had any problems with them. Though admittedly the 3 for $179 might not have a good range of frames, I've always been satisfied with my individual purchases. Mod: Removed SPAM I was trying to clone a usb drive to another identicle usb drive but it simply wouldn't work . The drive was half ntfs half Wii .

  • Worked great for resizing my windows boot partition.

  • I grabbed this last time it was free, it's a nice reliable program that's pretty simple to use!

A word of advice though, it can be a bit slower than it's big-name peers; so don't stress that it's hung on longer jobs, just let it run it's course…it takes a while but it gets there! :)
