how much is delivery to syd?

  • it is $18 delivery to SA

  • could this be used with a hdmi to dvi converter to hookup a bluray player via hdmi?

    • +1

For video HDMI and DVI are exactly the same.

      • cheers :D

      • apart from the major problem that the hdmi cable won't jam into the DVI port on the monitor well enough to give a pic?

        • hence the hdmi to dvi converter.

        • So for video SIGNAL they are exactly the same, not HDMI and DVI are exactly the same.

        • i guess i took that as implied, but thanks for pointing that out :)

    • +2

Just keep in mind that the resolution is 1600 x 900 which is not true blu-ray specs. You will not get the optimum display. If you want that, get yourself a 1920x1080.

      • thanks for the advice, i had not considered that!

  • +3

fml. things are getting cheaper. i remember paying 400 for my 17" lcd a few years back haha

    • yep, i paid about $1200 for my 17" CRT in the late 90's…

Is this really that good a deal? with postage it is only about $10-$20 cheaper than static ice….

still contemplating it… I know if i buy then 21" will be same price next week, but if i wait i wont find anything that cheap again… mmm must be my bad karma

    • +2

yup, 1 blink of the eye and 3d hdtvs are costly as, another blink of the eye and bam! they're bottom shelf clearance goods at the bottom of the bag. :P but you have to jump onboard the pricewagon sometime

      • Yes release prices of the latest gadgetry essentially cream off the most demanding demographic. I beleive the immediate reductions following this are to appeal to the rest of the non-prosumer market.

    shipping to north WA?

Edit - never mind, noticed only 1600x900 and no hdmi.I new it couldn't be that good of a bargain to be true. :)

    • I guess you get what you pay for !!!
Can't Get marble at the price of carpet.. Also its KNEW Not new

      • +1 for first 2 sentences…-1 for being a grammar nazi!

    • and no hdmi

      Why do you want HDMI?

It has no speakers so you do not need to send sound to it.

      • because my laptop has HDMI and VGA, I have an abundence of hdmi cables here, but no hdmi-dvi cables.

I've decided on something bigger anyway, something around the 24-27"

  • if it had a tv tuner and dvd then ill buy it

    • tv tiner maybe but dvd player?? This is the new decade, blueray all the way. Also at this price REALLY? Even now dvd players cost 20-30 bucks a pop.

    • Its a monitor, if you want tv tuner or dvd, then look for a TV

  • -1

no HMDI - if it did I'd buy

    • +3

      Why do you want HDMI?

The monitor is only showing video so you do not need to carry audio to it.

HDMI and DVI are the same thing for video.

Just get a DVI to HDMI cable or converter and you can plug HDMI to the monitor

I do HDMI for PS3 and run my PC through the DVI :) Switch between the two …:

    • Ah, i did not think of something like that :)

You could always use VGA for your PC, I do not think there is any difference in image quality between the two unless you are using very high resolutions.

      • Yep, there is actually nil quality difference between VGA & HDMI/DVI IME! :)

  • -2

    Resolution is only 1,600 x 900, that's why it's at this price!

    • +1

Most if not all 20" are that resolution.

      • +1

Not in the old days, mine is 1680x1050 (Samsung 206BW)

        • That is a 16:10 monitor and resolution which is why it is different. The monitor here is a 16:9.

For whatever reason people do not want the 16:10 resolution (Which is actually better for computer related tasks) so most monitors now are 16:9

        • I have a Samsung 205BW too.
          Resolution 1600x1050.

Was looking for a cheap 2nd monitor.

below: are 16x9 the norm now?

        • It wasn't the people's call, manufacturer decided to go 16:9 coz it is cheaper to make.

        • It wasn't the people's call, manufacturer decided to go 16:9 coz it is cheaper to make.

That is a goods point but i do not think they would be cheaper to make because of the aspect ratio.

They would be cheaper to make because TV's are 16:9 so they can easily make computer screens using the same equipment they use to make TV's

  • -2

oh not HD …diff not touching

    • +1

The monitor has a "HD" resolution

It does not have a "Full HD" resolution

  • -1

Great price but shipping is double what poster listed.
$16.50 Vic Metro + Geelong and $28 for other Victoria, not 8.25 and $14.
At least it is when I went to Checkout (in inner eastern suburbs here).

    Still bought though

Price match at OW for $84.55

Also note that the stand doesn't really fit well together, the screw that attaches the base to the arm doesn't tighten properly. Therefore it wobbles a bit.

Otherwise pretty good monitor for 85 bucks, the color seem a bit too red though.

people are finally doing business with centrecom from here hey?

  • Be warned, i bought a monitor from them a while ago on another weekend sale. Took over three weeks to delivered, even though i live one suburb away (special on-line only price)

    • I would've drove there and forcibly taken one from the shop!

      • i did go down there and ask (not politely!) Wouldn't give it to me, even though they hadn't yet picked the order. In the end they delivery when i wasn't home, and had to drive further to Port Melb to pick it up from courier.

  • All I can say get it price match at OW as mentioned by garratt torlesse - just got my one for $84.55 no issues!

    • How did you get them to price match it? Did you print a copy of the page and show it to them?

      • wow, im suprised you can price match this at OW. $85 is a damn good price.

        • Why are you supprised? OW always price match and give the 5% as long as the original seller is genuine. I've never had any problems

  • +1

JDoubleUKeyG just get them to jump on the CentreCom website and let them know there is a life stock count and price is listed as well.

  • $45 shipping to Perth…..

  • I just price matched at officeworks for $84.55 aswell, even though there is no centrecom store close by :)

  • That's cheap..

  • Wow, delivery took 2 days with TNT to WA. It was at the door this morning but I was still asleep :\ gotta wait till tmrw!
