AEG 18V 5.0Ah 3 Piece Brushless Combo Kit $399 @ Bunnings

120

Was looking for the AEG Angle Grinder and saw this combo in stock. Surprised at the price given the drill driver + impact driver brushless combo was also $399.
https://www.bunnings.com.au/aeg-18v-5-0ah-2-piece-brushless-…

So this became a no brainer as the Skin is $289 + 2x5A batts are $149 each alone.
Happily as picked up the set in Chadstone Bunnings. Enjoy!

That's the regulars price. The drills are very weak imho

  • I bought it last year. Good set, seems powerful enough for me

  • Is this or bosch blue better ?

They are both trade tools, but I think blue Bosch is more heavy duty and has better quality/build and this is reflected in price. There are some tools AEG has and Bosch doesnt and vice versa. Good thing with AEG is that it has 6yr warranty. However depends what you use it for. I think AEG comes from same factory as some Milwaukee products.

      • Good thing with AEG is that it has 6yr warranty.

It's been a while since I bought tools, but you used to have to register online to get the full six years (three for batteries). Without registering it was three years for tools and only ONE for batteries.

So remember to register online to double/triple the warranty period.

  • Its always been this price

I think it even came with an extra free 6Ah by redemption at one stage too.

    • This combo deal never had the redemption offer. I have been watching them since they started.

    Got this on Monday.
I wouldn't say it is a bargain, just decent value and I'm very happy with my purchase, so thanks for the heads up as I'd been totally bogged down in research for a few weeks on the various brands, models, combination kits, and this one made sense.
Since Monday I have driven in about about 40 large (75mm, 14G) self tapping timber screws into a hardwood external timber staircase that I'm renovating at home.
This is my first impact driver so I can't compare, but it is a BEAST and it seriously bossed those screws! It makes a hell of a noise in a satisfying blokey way.
The build quality on the drill and impact driver are exceptional, well beyond anything I've previously owned as a moderately capable DIY'er and beyond the equivalent Makita I borrowed on the weekend.
Haven't used the angle grinder yet.

    • This is my first impact driver so I can't compare, but it is a BEAST.

That's the reaction of everyone going from using a normal drill to an impact driver.

It's one of those can-never-go-back things that you kick yourself for not buying sooner.

  • I bought this at the Traralgon Bunnings on the 22nd April for $299 they only had one left so must have been just trying to clear it. Great products though and would have been happy with the $399 pricing also.
