        True and I think compact cameras are pretty much dead now. Noone would use those to take photos any more.

        Only exception is super rugged all weather waterproof ones which still beats smartphones

          I beg to differ - I still love my Sony RX100 Mk3. Having said that, even my iPhone 8 takes decent photos in good lighting, but phone cameras still have tiny sensors compared to the 1” on the RX100.

      Not entirely, auto shots still blurry on fast moving objects….

      You still need DSLR for that fast shutter speed.

      Unless you use manual mode of course, but DSLR has SEMI-auto

        Interesting. So that blurriness is a result of auto mode processing? I’m trying to find the best phone camera for photos of my 6-month old, so I’ve been considering this phone simply because it has an bigger sensor and aperture. But you reckon those aren’t as big factors?

          You should be fine if there is enough light. Under day light, you can dial up the shutter speed to 1/500 second or higher and you get rid of most motion blurs. The manual mode helps to control the shutter speed.

          A SLR or equivalent mirrorless camera is still heaps better in low light situations. Phone cameras are getting better, but the sensor size (ie the limitation on how much light can be captured) is still too small to compete with DSLRs.

    Was very close to purchasing this but can see Huawei have cut corners on the p30 vs p30 pro. No wireless charging or quick charge 2.0 on a $1000 device? Also the waterproof rating not being that of a full flagship device… would expect the feature sacrifice if it was half the price.

    Good deal though vs other offers in the market if one wants the P30

    Was tempted by the P30 Pro's battery life but the $400 price difference is hard to justify.

    Went for the regular P30 to replace my P20 because I cannot stand not having dual-SIM and a headphone jack. There's simply no excuse for not having them.
