  • Probably won't get a Sonos One, so instead of a $250 speaker, you now get a $200 gift card

    • Though if your home's full of free Google Home minis this is better!

      • and if it's not already, get 4x GHM price matched to lowest price and walk away with change.

I purchased a p30pro today it allowed me to make a claim for $200 gift card and Sonos. Says takes up to 10 days to process but will let you know.

      • But isn't the Sonos promo for the dates between March and April?
I'm wondering if I should claim both too.

        • It worked for me guy at Telstra claimed its for pre ordered but the invoice date can be after as that's the date you get the device.

    Huawei P30 or P20 Pro?

    • +1

      P20 Pro isn’t eligible.

      • I think he's asking which phone to get :)

I think the Camera is the only big difference, though happy to be corrected.

        • Yes. The P20 Pro and P30 are about the same price point (i see an ebay listing for P30 at $922~ after PKOALA).

Just wondering which would be a better buy

          • +1

@JaxSantiago: If they are the same it'd be a no brainer for me to go the newer one. I quite liked mucking around with it in store. Though after watching some YouTube Reviews it seemed to have a few annoyances.

            • @scuderiarmani: Thanks. Watched a Youtube video earlier that compares the 2. Seems at roughly the same price point, it's wiser to go with P30

  • Does that include purchase over mobile contract or outright only ?

    • Should be mobile contract as cant see optus and Telstra offering outright

  • harvey norman also has a $200 gift card I think for port in to optus ?

    • The $200 Port in to optus ended sunday.

  • +1

Sucks that it is only limited to JB/Telstra/Optus/Voda etc. Otherwise can wait until Mobileciti does another sale and also get this as well for basically another $200 off (assuming you do groceries at Woolworths anyway)..

    • just read the T&C's and Mobiciti is a "participating retailer" - only those four were pictured in the home page

      • +1

Will a purchase via their ebay store be eligible?

        • +1

I reckon you are eligible if receiving a tax invoice from mobileciti.

    • If Mobileciti is good, then:
      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Huawei-P30-Pro-Dual-Sim-4G-4G-25…
brings it down to around $1450 delivered.
      Voucher -$200 = $1250
Maybe do cashbacks somehow and will be close to the $1200 mark? That's very tempting.. better than the Sonos deal since no need to sell the Sonos at a loss.

      • Curious to know how you can bring it down to $1450 since PKOALA expires today and the $200 promo starts tomorrow.

        • Doh.. I wasn't aware the PKOALA ends today. Otherwise would have pulled the trigger tomorrow. Unless can somehow get them to backdate the receipt. lol

          • +2

@bchliu: They can actually. I did it 2 years ago for TRS, buy first, ask them to post and issue the invoice a few days later.

        • +1

PEEL20 code for 10% off starts today. Brings it down to @$1250 delivered. So tempted now..

    • Just get jbhifi to price match any other store

      • They don't normally price match ebay discounts (10%) which is what it is in this case.

    No bootloader unlock, no sale.
Came so close to buying, but then I checked for root and the idiots (Huawei) stopped allowing unlocks… why screw up an otherwise good if overpriced handset???!!!
    https://cdn.getdroidtips.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/huaw…

    So take a hike Huawhat.

PS: Not paying for a 3rd party unlock.

    • For security reason? Unreasonable?

      • +2

Things like scheduling the radios (wifi goes on at certain locations, all radios go off at 23:45, etc…)… and a lot of automation in general.
        Removing bloat.
        Ad blocking.
        changing dpi.
        logcat.
        terminal.

And it's frankly insulting to be a guest on a phone I bought.

    • Not everyone needs their phones to be rooted.

      • +3

… but a good root never hurts anyone.

        • Awesome work mate haha :)

      • Looks like all Huawei phones are rooted now.

  • will Oppo Reno 10x zoom be available soon?

  • Has anyone who's applied for this actually received their gift card yet? If so, how long did it take you to get it?

    • Hi mate just wondering if you got the gift card mine had been 14 days and still no sign. All I got was saying claim was approved. I contacted them in their email address, no response

      • +1

        Check your spam emails

        • Thanks ozsikh. Going after almost 400 junks finally got it. Cheers

          • +1

@Cmaz: Got it, hidden in junk mail

      • +1

yep got mine mate. I also emailed them too and they got back to me, although they did take about a week to respond.

I was checking my spam like crazy in that time, fearing I'd missed it and it'd been auto-deleted from the spam folder without me seeing it. was stoked when I finally saw it. good to see you got yours too

        • Thanks mate

  • I accidentally used the wrong number in the IMEI field but was still able to save the form and got an email saying my gift card was approved?

  • Anyone actually received their gift card yet? Got approved, then chose the gift card then nothing..

    • I received it woth 4 days from the day I submitted my claim, was very surprised !!

I suggest you check your spam folder.
