  • That would be best time to visit Seoul as well… autumn.

Yes, I love the way the autumn sun reflects through the smog in the afternoons that time of year.

      • wake up jv there are many other beautiful aspects of the city.

        • Yeah, I've been to Itaewon…

          • @jv: so…

            • @nerd1:

              so…

              no, dong…

      • I doubt that image is from Autumn. Autumn is one of the better times to go to Seoul as the sky is generally clear and you do not have the dust from mainland China. And in any case there is much more to Korea than just Seoul.

          I don't think so…

          • @jv: How about you show some of your own footage? How many times have you been to Seoul in Autumn? Having been there a number of times in Autumn I think I can comment about this. Sure there are days when the weather is overcast but in "general" the weather is very nice at that time of year.

@jv: you can always cherry pick any video for your narrative

  • Good price!

  • Includes a 2-hour stop-over in Singapore, and is ~5 hours longer than a direct flight. Important for some, but the price difference is significant.

I remember the time I booked MEL-ICN on SQ for $320 return. Of course that was a pricing error and will most likely never come up again: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/274614

    • That is awesome. How was the trip/flight(s)?

    • agree, i booked this deal also, it was a great holiday. never say never, lets hope another glitch happens soon, Korea is a great place to visit again

  • Great price and it's even during school holidays.

With this type of tickets, can I stay in Singapore for few days instead of 2 hours before continuing the second leg of the trip to Seoul?

    • +1

search for a multi-leg trip in skyscanner. look up what times the flights you want are and put those details in the multi-city. It might cost a little bit extra but the way i see it is that you get a whole extra destination. I don't care how good an airport is, its not a destination for me.

Edit: i just had a play around with dates and this kind of flight can be had for $823 departing Sydney on October 1st for Singapore, leaving Singapore on the 3rd for Seoul and leaving Seoul on the 10th.

I unfortunately can't take this trip but i would like to say that the original deal isn't that great if you just want to get to Korea. There were loads of other airlines offering a similar price and a direct flight was only $200 more or so. I think $823 with a stopover in Singapore is a much better deal.

Agreed. Making 2 destinations out of the trip is much better value than just flying to Seoul. I probably would paid a bit extra for a direct flight.

  • The connecting flight times are pretty awful though, least travel time is 16h45min, almost 17h. And if there are minor delays, would extend the travel time. Takes at least 1h to get to Seoul from Incheon too. Ok if you can sleep well on the plane, but for people like me who can't sleep at all, I would rather pay more for direct. The extra money for direct flight is worth it imo, especially when travelling with children and the elderly.

For anyone who's never been to korea, don't expect anything like Japan or China. Honestly I found it pretty boring. I imagine it'd help being into Korean culture.

    • You can't have tried too hard Lol. I absolutely loved it when I went.
Way to summarize a 5000 year old culture!

        300,000 years…

"According to the August issue of Today’s Korea, archeologists with the Korean Academy of Social Sciences discovered ancient human fossils in the lava at a stone city site in Korea. The fossils include skulls, pelvis bones, thighbones and hipbones of a female, a youth and a child. The fossils were dated to 300,000 years ago"

        • Looks like they picked up and extra zero along the way…
