Awwwyis. This is my ideal monitor! You're very much underselling this.

Firstly I'll say if you're a competitive high FPS gamer (CSGO, PUBG, etc.) look elsewhere. This is a 60hz monitor.

    With that said…now!
    - It's cheap! Sub $500 in this case
    - It is a perfect PPI - 27" at 4k. Good size for desk use (32" is too close for the ~80cm i sit from my screen).
    - It supports HDR (granted, "fake" HDR; 8bit+FRC) but good luck with a 10bit panel at this price!
    - It has slim side bezels. I use 3 monitors, and im sick of chunky bezels.
    - It has been field tested to work "well" (YMMV) with team greens's G-sync (of course it has FS if you're team red)
    - It's IPS. Espouse the virtues of TN as much as you want. The color/aspect ratio trade off is just too much against IPS!
    - Great panel quality! Check out all the reviews. It's a pretty panel.

NOTE: Their dead-pixel policy is NOT a zero-pixel policy unfortunately; a lot of manufacturers won't give a zero policy however. This is the ONLY slight trade off. https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/6f3rr6/lg_4k_dead…

If you can find a better option, i'm all ears!

    • Good points. Too bad I'm looking for high refresh rate monitor
      How about Acer VG271UP it's 1440p 144hz ?

      • Sorry, I'm not quite up to speed on the high rate panels =( all I do know is the asus 27" 1440p/144hz panels are well reviewed. Not sure why however…

Oh one other note for this monitor. B it is NOT height adjustable! Nor does it have a swivel. You need the 650 version for that…which aren't available here, and are quite expensive =(

  • Thinking I shouldn't have bought an ultrawide with these prices..

  • Same price as the Samsung 4k 28" QLED https://www.harveynorman.com.au/samsung-28-4k-uhd-tn-monitor… I got for missus for her photoshop and cant fault it.

    • TN vs IPS panel??

      • TN but the colours are richer when sitting next to IPS monitors in the store. So much better for photos. But each to there own

        • The only VERY minor advantage of this is the 125% sRGB coverage vs the 99% on the LG. The reduced brightness on the Samsung however is a big trade-off. Also, unless you're sitting square on, you're going to see some washing out of the colour. If you're displaying HDR compatible content, this should look better (even without the HDR400 compatible brightness!)

Plenty of general IPS monitors with terrible colours/brightness/coverage however, so hard to tell what you saw it next to.

          • @incipient: Guess you not sat in front of one. The ips was more dimm at high brightness

        • I only use the 4K IPS monitors to shop on ozbargain. Does it make a difference?? It makes sure the guy next to me sees the same colour as I do (>_<)
