Certainly is cheap although I'd prefer the Asus they are selling for about $90 more. Bigger HDD, dedicated video and blueray reader, plus just personally I like Asus brand more than Toshiba though both are still quality brands.

    • ASUS can't beat Toshiba in terms of build quality. I own both laptops. I sent my ASUS for repairing twice and the casing start to crack after 2 years. Toshiba ,however, is still running strong after 3 years of heavy usage.

not a secret now is it!

  • What's the battery life?

    • Anything 15.6" non-sandy bridge… good luck getting 3 hours.

  • Looks pretty good to me, when compared with this one https://www.mln.com.au/product/?itemID=1075&typeID=23,
$100 extra gives a Intel Core i3 processor but no HDMI and no gigabit port. Personally I prefer the Acer.

Acer is the SH*TTEST Brand of laptop you can get. cheap parts through out reflected in its competative pricing strategies to keep up with the big brands

  • Looks good.

There will be heaps of deals as the manufacturers quit all their non-USB3 lappies.

  • Does it have bluetooth ?

      • I don't care! I want the one with the more geebees! :)

    • Does it have bluetooth and HDMI?

      • NO HDMI.

        • Does have Bluetooth, WiFi, Ethernet, SD Card slot. I think it has 2 USB, but possibly 3.

  • I wouldn't have bothered if it wasn't a Toshiba, given what a great deal the ASUS is. But the build quality is typically much better.

  • I have a very similar i3 Toshiba model, and I really like it. The main difference is that mine has HDMI and dedicated graphics.

I really like mine (albeit a slightly better model). The only thing I could fault is the speakers, but it feels very solid, it never reboots unexpectedly like my old Acer Core2Duo and the battery time is adequate. Who really uses laptops for long periods unplugged anyway?

Both ASUS and Toshiba scored best in a recent survey for warranty returns over three years. Acer and HP scored very low.

MLN uses TNTExpress as their courier. I had very bad experience with them. They couldn't deliver on due date they promised.

Why would this be a Neg for the deal itself?
