Yeah it takes about 2 weeks to arrive. You just need to activate it in NZ, give it a $20 min topup and it's ready to go.

You will unfortunately need to leave the house to go traveling. The airport you land in may have numerous, more densely populated brochures free of charge. They have had these for decades now.
