      Hi iLikePizza,

This is a VPS Service - you could use it for a VPN if you wanted?

This isn't a direct VPN service however.

      Cheers

          No worries :-)

First month at $1 isn't the best. Personally I'm not a fan of short duration hooks. I don't believe they work,at least not for me.

First month free. 6mo at half price. That gets people in the door…and after 6mo they're pretty established and churning isn't worth it (if the service is good).

    Haha that's just my 2c.

Anyway to the deal, depends a lot on how overprovisioned these services are. Even if it was a dedicated thread (not core) at $5/mo, these servers are going to be very very 'break even'.

    • Hi incipient,

      Thanks for the feedback.

These promo's are more so people can get a taste for our awesome service! :) If people are hesitant to try us, this gives them the option to trial at minimum commitment.

As we are already one of the cheapest on the market, especially for the speed and service provided it's not really viable to offer ongoing discounts.

We have a hard cap limit per node to ensure there is no speed degradation. You'll get the same speeds from the day you sign up to 3, 6 or even 12 months later.

      Cheers!

Yeah I will agree with that. Crazy cheap pricing, especially with how damn expensive Aussie bandwidth is!

Good luck with the promo =)

I used one of the earlier promos, so far very happy with the server and service.

  • Do you offer BYO ISO?

    • Hi Jazoom,

Reach out to support and they'll happily help you out!

      Cheers.

  • I'm trying to pay Semi-annually but the code doesn't seem to work.

    • Hi pig,

Unfortunately this promotion is only for the first month.

      Cheers

      • My first invoice is 6 months prepaid ..and you said "Get 80% off your first invoice on all VPSs" ??

        • Poor wording on our side - sorry! 80% off your first month*

          I've fixed the main post.

  • I have few more questions:

    • Can you add large file ie 1GB file for us to test the download speed?
    • Do you allocate 1GB link for each VPS or 1GB link for each server (physical server)?
    • How do you deal with noisy neighbour?
    • What will happen if I used up all 1TB quota?
    • If I spin up another $5 VPS do I get 1TB?
    • Hi pig,

Can you add large file ie 1GB file for us to test the download speed? Unfortunately we don't have test files available. Only the test IP.
Do you allocate 1GB link for each VPS or 1GB link for each server (physical server)? 1GB per Node. Unfortunately a 1GB link per VPS is not viable at our price range.
How do you deal with noisy neighbour? We actively monitor our network and take action when required. We're all about performance :-)
What will happen if I used up all 1TB quota? Your VPS is put in a suspended state. If you reach out to support if you're close to using your allocation we are usually happy to sort something out.
If I spin up another $5 VPS do I get 1TB? Each VPS get's their own allocation - you're not able to 'pool' the bandwidth - if that's what you mean?

      Cheers

I signed up for Quantum Core recently. Pretty happy with the service so far. Fantastic service with fast servers, speedy NVMe SSDs, and a great and responsive tech support team. The only minor issues I've had are:

    • The control panel is extremely basic. It doesn't even have an option to mount an ISO. You need to contact support for things like mounting ISOs, setting reverse DNS, etc. These are all generally once-off things though, so it's not too bad.
    • No native IPv6. HE's TunnelBroker endpoint in Sydney works fine, but I'd really like to see native IPv6 in the future, given a lot of good ISPs and hosts are using IPv6 today.

Originally I thought the disk IO was a bit slow, however they did some tweaks which improved the performance. NVMe drives definitely make a difference!

    • Thanks for the kind review Daniel! :)

Hopefully you see RDNS in the client area soon! This is a work in progress.

IPv6 is also currently under internal discussion.
