      These are not old-style analog cameras like you're thinking. Those old analog cameras are only about 0.3MP.

      I personally prefer IP cameras myself, but IP connectivity itself confers no benefit to a basic setup like this. If the stated resolution of these cameras is correct, they would give a sharper image than a 1080p IP camera.The usual pixel-size caveats apply of course.

        I know what they are. I have a 1080p analog-HD system, and it does the job (daytime at least is good), but cost a lot less.

        For $450, maybe you should at least be looking at a DVR that supports IP cameras as well as anaolg, for an upgrade path.
        If you just want to install and be done, $450 for 6 cameras and 2TB is good.

          Great, but when people hear "old-style analog cameras" they would be thinking of… actual old-style analog cameras which are interlaced and have incredibly low resolution, which is why I thought I should clarify. AHD is actually newer technology compared to IP cameras, although newer doesn't mean superior in this case.

    If I choose again, I will never buy Swann again. My system is only 1.5 years old and the remote live stream is no longer working. Swann doesn't care even many people have same issue.

      If you set up a VPN to connect your phone to home LAN, you should be able to access it without Swann support.
      More secure too. Block the DVR from internet access on your router.

          Are you able to get as live stream direct from the DVR when your phone is on your home wifi and the internet connection disabled?

          You said "remote" livestream no longer worked, so I assumed local was OK, but maybe that was on PC?

                  I think it may be easier for you to buy a new DVR box that is compatible with your existing cameras, hard drive and wiring.
                  They can be very cheap, $60 to $100. What do you have now?
