Been chatting with the ProductReview Rep for the past few days to get this deal updated with fresh categories and terms. This is not just for new reviewers. Anyone can enter and redeem a gift card, provided the following conditions are met. Please read on:

  • Please log in and check the homepage. You will see a review counter indicating you how many reviews you require in order to receive the gift card. The presence/absence of the review counter on the homepage indicates your current eligibility (ie you'll see the counter if you haven't redeemed a card at all, or if you redeemed one previously but it has been reset in the lead-up to this post). If you can't see the counter it means you are not eligible for this giveaway, most likely because you redeemed a gift card for this promotion very recently.

  • Please read the T&Cs and FAQs. They're short and simple. If you have any questions, please email promotions@productreview.com.au

  • Proof of product purchase (any one of: receipt, photo of product with your ProductReview display name next to it, tax invoice, contract, email exchange between you and the company, etc) is now mandatory for this giveaway. This is due to attempts at gaming the system by some, so we've had to implement this additional check.

  • Gift cards are not sent immediately. They are sent via email on the first business day of each month to the registered email address of ProductReview.com.au members who wrote their fourth approved and published eligible review in the previous month. Your email address must be verified to receive the gift card, and each member is eligible to receive only one gift card from this promotion. Individuals are not permitted to create multiple accounts in order to receive multiple gift cards for this promotion.

  • We regularly run additional targeted giveaways which are announced through our email lists.

  • Please refrain from creating multiple accounts as this will null your eligibility for the gift card.

Since the last time this was posted here, we've also launched our Ambassador Program. This is a program where some of our best users can receive new and pre-release products to review and keep. For example, we recently gave out 75 Dyson V11 vacuums! Participation in this program is by invitation only, and we're currently actively looking for new participants who we hand-pick based on the number, frequency, and quality of their reviews.

Reviews from the following categories are the only ones eligible for the gift card:

Electronics:

4K Ultra HD TVs, Headphones, Mobile Phones, Wearable Tech (Smart Watches, Fitbits, etc), Tablets, Modems/Routers, Soundbars

Services:

Internet Services Providers (ISPs), Credit Cards

What about items that were found on the side of the road?

    • +4 votes

If I've already done this last year and got the $20, would I still get the gift card for another 4 reviews this time?

Looks like its the same promo period still (says 2017-2019).

      Thanks!

  •

Wow! Great deal, do note this point though:

    • Proof of product purchase (receipt etc) is now mandatory for this giveaway. This is due to attempts at gaming the system by some, so we've had to implement this additional check.

So can't just smash out 4 reviews, need to grab receipts first. Maybe do it after weekly shop :)

    •

You might've read this already but the proof of purchase requirement here can be met by taking a photo of said product with a piece of paper with your username on it :).

  • +11 votes

Shame we can't all go and review OzBargain to filter out the store reps who got caught sockpuppeting because we don't want to buy their essential oils.

  •

You will see a review counter indicating you how many reviews you require in order to receive the gift card.

So TA how many reviews on average to qualify ?

Could do a couple CC's but the effort of proofing one for me not worth it .

    •

Think of it this way. You rep the brand and get $20 for your troubles. Everyone's happy. Can knock out a few from the grocery shopping whilst on the way to work.

  •

How old should the purchases be? Can I review products I bought a year ago?

    • +1 vote

Can't see why you shouldn't be able to.

    • +4 votes

As long as it's still available from major retailers it should be fine. If it's marked as discontinued on PR then it won't be eligible.

      •

        •

Hey, I can't guarantee it without looking at your actual account, but I would say it's most likely that you're eligible again. If you can see the review counter telling you about this giveaway on the homepage (when you're logged in) then you're eligible.

          •

@nsta8487: Ah thanks, I can see it when signed in :). Guess I'm eligible then!

The promo still applies if I'm reviewing items in those categories but not yet on the page? I.e. adding another product to one of the categories and review.

            • +1 vote

@Bargainbeth: Yes you can add new products. They'll be eligible as long as they're still for sale from Australian retailers.

              •

@nsta8487: Hi, just confirming again because although you said if I can see the review counter with the deal on the home page I'm eligible, just looked through the terms and they say "Each individual member is eligible to receive one gift card for the duration of this promotion.". Promo period is 2017-2019.

                Could you confirm again please?

                Thanks in advance

                •

@Bargainbeth: It's correct that our conditions state that each member is eligible to receive one gift card.
However, we made an exception specifically for users who redeemed a gift card last time this promo was posted here.
In general, if you've received a gift card for this promotion in 2019, it's unlikely you're eligible for a 2nd one.
The best way to tell if you are eligible for a card (whether it's your 1st or 2nd), is if the review counter is visible to you on the homepage when you are logged in.

How do you know which users redeemed a gift card from seeing this promo? Or from elsewhere?

I def saw the promo from here, but need I have clicked the link from ozbargain? Can't recall if I did.

And Yupp review counter is there for me, and I got my voucher last year, not this one :)

I'd like to give www.productreview.com.au 0 stars for their bizarro login system but I cant because I changed my email address and can't login :(

  • +2 votes

Doesn't this just invite even more fake reviews?

    • +4 votes

the entire site is setup to make money from fake reviews, a business will pay for access to respond to reviews and ahem…. paid "customers" also get a blind eye turned to blatant fake 5 star reviews, even in the thousands. How many people leave genuine 5 star reviews for something they bought they like? not many

how many people whinge immediately anywhere they can for something of poor quality, poor service, whatever…. ? this is their bread and butter

      • +2 votes

In their defence, they did drop that requirement to pay for access. And now several products require proof of purchase to review.

      • +7 votes

I would argue this current gift card promotion helps eliminate some of the issues you have highlighted. Now people give honest reviews who are confirmed to have purchased the item, there is no incentive to give a 5 star review for this promotion but just an honest review.

  •

Easy 5mins for $20 good deal op

  • +1 vote

Great deal, but it would take me few hours to search for the receipts :P

I remember a lady coming to my house on a Saturday morning couple of years ago to answer some 50 odd questions about supermarkets etc and I got a $20 Coles gift card. Had a nice chat with her while drinking my morning coffee and netted the $20 :P that was easy :D

  • +23 votes

Reminds me i never got my first coles card for the original reviews

      • +23 votes

No i have 7 reviews that are still up and were approved. So you'll understand my scepticism to do it again.

        • +5 votes

If it asked for a receipt i would have provided them as they're all products I've had, but it didn't and i never got the gift card. So i stopped using it simply because it said I'd get something which i didn't.

To those negging me i hope you have the same thing happen lol

    •

you will be told "you are at fault for not direct messaging asking about its where abouts"

meanwhile, all the cry babie "affiliates", will comment negatively towards you. such as the one removed right under yours ;)

  • +4 votes

For Proof of Purchase Document, it says 'Can be a photo of the product with your ProductReview.com.au display name next to it' so you don't need actually need your invoice/receipt.

    •

      Oh thanks for that!

Got a couple of things that meet the criteria bought in store, but I never keep my receipts.

  • +1 vote

I've written 2 reviews, both on the eligible products and uploaded the receipt but it won't move past '1st review'
    What am I doing wrong?

    • +2 votes

The reviews need to be published, not just submitted. If this involves manually checking them it could take a day or two depending on how many are currently in the queue to be processed.
If you think there's an error please email promotions@productreview.com.au

      •

        Ah got ya.
        I've had 2 published.
I'll do all 4 and if they say published but nothing has moved. I'll email.
        Thanks

  • +19 votes

I remember doing this the last time but didn't get anything

    • +10 votes

Same it said they'd get sent out at the end of the month.. nada came

    • +11 votes

Same with me. Just checked my reviews and all were published with thousands of views (a great benefit to the site). Very poorly run it seems.

      • +10 votes

        With a quick check same..

"Thanks for your review of Viano LED40FHD (40")
1,867 people read it, that's great! Write another review and help even more people!"

Probably not gunna get anymore reviews from me

        • +6 votes

Hey wilder, based on this info I found your account in our system and you were emailed a gift card on the 1st of August last year, but I can see that it was never accessed, so I would guess it got filtered into your Spam folder and you never saw it.
If you like I can PM you the link to the card (they're valid for 4 years so it's not at risk of expiring any time soon), or I can re-send it to the email associated with your ProductReview account.

          • +1 vote

            @nsta8487: Hey nsta,

Thanks for the response i wasn't expecting to hear anything about it.
Either way would be good, thankyou for checking into it for me

            Faith in productreview restored

    • +1 vote

      Same here too

    • +1 vote

      Same here. Not worth trying.

  • +2 votes

Have got the $20 egift card 3 years ago, 3-4 weeks after my review.

  • +5 votes

Did this last time. Just checked and my reviews are still up and never received anything

  • +3 votes

Have 6 eligible and verified reviews, but never got the voucher

  •

So if we already got the vouchers from before, we are still eligible after completing 4 more?

  • +7 votes

Sorry, I hate Product Review with an absolute passion from a business perspective.
One of the worst review platforms out there. You can complain about items several years old with no warranty.
They do not care about fake reviews. If you are a business and a competitor puts on fake reviews or customers trying to bully you into free servicing after several years or they are not even a customer and you flag it, they constantly respond saying they will do nothing and do not need to ask for proof of purchase on these.

    • +1 vote

They do not care about fake reviews.

they do when a business pays them money to "correct" the bad reviews

  •

I got my code from last time but I couldn't scan it at check out for some reason..

  • +10 votes

    Did this last time.
Just checked and my reviews are still up and never received anything

  • +6 votes

never got my giftcard but at least i helped over 53432 people!

  • +3 votes

Thanks TA👍 I had no trouble getting the $20 credit last time it was posted, so will gladly submit another 4 reviews.

I know this syndicate some of my pals are competing against and they can’t compete against them on the wage front because they pay them a grain of rice a day .

I understand now why some work there .

  •

Quick question about the online review space. If someone puts a fake online review about a product/company/department of a company, how far would that go to be considered defamation for a legal case to be considered?

  • +2 votes

I did this awhile ago and received my giftcard. I think the confusion is from people not submitting their receipts to confirm their purchase. I had that trouble at first, I submitted my 2nd review but it was still telling me my first review wasn't eligible for the gift card because I required a receipt.

  • +3 votes

Never had an issue getting my gift card last time, and get the odd email saying I helped quite a few people, it's been a great offer for me at least :)

  • -3 votes

Time to write more fake reviews!

  • +4 votes

Ditto. Never got it. Excellent harvesting method. Unplug yourself and don't waste your time

  •

"All four reviews must belong to one of the categories mentioned above in order to be eligible for this promotion." is included in Promotion Notes. Found this one before wasting time >>https://www.productreview.com.au/i/incentives/coles_20

I don’t know who to beleive, the irony…
