I understand being a bargainer and trying to save bucks. But this is beyond greedy attitude and very irresponsible. Please think of our future.

    • Claiming one is one which an actual supporter won't get.
Plus you can modify the message.

  • +13

Commenting to neg the deal. Horrible "cause"

  • +7

Adani just helped modi to win election in India. In return modi will put pressure on Australian government to start adanis projects here

  • Get them just to waste their money. Marker and you have a protest shirt.

    • +5

These shirts will cost them next to nothing. They make $11billion a year in revenue.

  • +10

I’m going to laugh so hard when all these so called “jobs” being created go to 457 workers. Anyone who voted liberal to get this mine approved is an absolute moron. I realise they say there’re not using offshore workers, but I guarantee some dodgy shit will be done to get cheap workers.

    • Liberal voters laughing now cause Labor lost,

      • +10

And this is the mentality of the right.

You're not celebrating because you won, you are celebrating because the other side lost.

The right supporters and government have no value and no vision and are only driven by "giving it to the left" .
You live on this planet too, mate. And you're killing it.

        • And this is the mentality of the left… my morals make me better than everyone else… moral superiority..

          • +9

            @hippyhippy: Swing and a miss.

The mentality is "I like living, I like the planet, lets not kill it"

Why would any think they are superior for having such basic thoughts?

but its clear now that you hate the left because they think they are attacking you and think you're dumb, when in reality the right has nothing to do with it. Its purely a want to not (profanity) die.

            Grow. Up.

        • By propegating the false right/left dichotomy you drive a wedge between everyone.

          • +1

@meowbert: One side is right and one is wrong. Being an enlightened centrist with your "both sides" shit doesn't help. Not all positions are valid.

            • @WinstonWithAY: To rephrase, the "left/right" are generalisations, too loaded and broad to be meaningful, and by classifying people or group as such, place people with positions they may not hold. I don't claim to be an enlightened centerist.

Is someone who is anti immigration, pro environment and doesn't have a stance on gay people left or right?

    • +8

It's baffling to me that people think the Libs give a crap about creating jobs for Australians. They've cut funding to our science, tech, health, disability, clean energy, medical research, and game development industries.

But apparently a mine that will hire a handful of workers (most likely foreign) is enough 'proof' for people that the Libs are creating jobs? I just don't get it.

      • +7

You would think just looking at the unemployment and underemployment rates would show them this. But nope.

        • +3

          Liberals are terrible economic managers

          Change my mind

      • +1

They could cut funding everywhere. I'd still vote them over Labor.

  • +6

It’s funny the start Adani design is near identical to the stop Adani design. It’s more than a free T-shirt, I hope people don’t order and wear these without knowing what they’re promoting and supporting when wearing these.

  • +1

Imagine how much better the planet would be if there'd never been any humans. Or if there were only those such as indigenous Australians who used to take care of the land instead of destroying it.

It's inevitable that we're going to wipe ourselves out, sadly we'll end up taking out a lot of other species too. I'm actually pretty close to supporting all of this destruction of the earth stuff like Adani now, maybe I should get one of these. The sooner we eliminate the human race the sooner the planet can rebuild.

    • +1

So basically get a tshirt or put your money where your mouth is and Jim Jones it.

      • Killing a couple of people won't help, their carbon footprint will probably help more.

  • -1

    Guidelines for a negative vote:
    1. Cheaper price elsewhere
Mention store or URL and price making sure to include shipping.
    Defective product
    2. The product has been recalled
Major issue with product in that it doesn't work the way it should.
    3. Major issue with retailer
    Didn't receive previous purchase. Example
Shipping time exceeding expected wait. Example

Nooone here so far has a valid reason to neg. Is there a cheaper price elsewhere? no. Has the product been recalled? no. Are there any major issues with the retailer? no, there is no history with shipping times/not receiving prior purchases being an issue with this seller. Ethical arguments on mining are irrelevant and have nothing to do with the deal- the deal here is free stickers/promotional material.

    • That's correct. It is distressing for me to see the pro-Adani view anywhere but we still have a kind of democracy and free speech in Australia. Is a very loaded deal and the pages of posts show how important the issue is. I've just watched an ABC story on how worried Fijians are that countries are not doing stopping climate change.

    • +1

      Hits all three easily.

      1. Defective product: the project is a dud deal for Australians. https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2019-05-23/the-ma…
      2. The product has been recalled: try a search for #carbonbubble. Lots of very smart people with a LOT of money behind them working on stopping this project so we have a habitable planet for our grandkids.
      3. Major issue with retailer: https://adanifiles.com.au/#env-destruction
  • +10

This is not a deal. This is political advertising. No one would wear those tshirts.

  • +7

    Hi Op….thanks for the bargain.

Really love the fact an Indian company from India, the most polluted country in the world, has come to Australia and preaching about the benefits of fossil fuel! ROFL…

Adani will make Australia great! Mwahahaha!

  • +1

I appreciate the entertainment value of the post.

  • +7

    Propaganda is not a deal

    • +3

      I agree

      • +3

Agree too. Plus I commented so I can neg

  • I've ordered 10 oacks. I've got enough marker pens to flip the nessages around and they will be 10 packs Adani supporters cant have.
Any t-shirts not used for protesting will make good cleanup rags.

    • Watch out your really going to have a monster effect on the billion's budgeted :)

Guess you didn't think they can produce on demand forever for all orders . Great thinking .

  • +7

Not free. It's costing the earth. Not a deal, and I refuse to advertise for an amoral business.

  • +1

No one is mentioning the quality of the shirts. Are they good?

  • +2

    Yeah stop the mine.
Those poor people in India don't deserve electricity. They'd only use it for silly things. Like fridges for keeping the medicines in.

    • +1

Imagine they might want to enjoy cooking without burning dung..

    • +2

You realize coal isn't the only source of power, right?

  • +5

Funny when liberal (profanity) wearing these shirts come 50 degree summer next year

  • +4

    This should really be deleted

  • +6

    Coal is bad, m'kay.

  • +6

Can’t get behind something that is so destructive and filthy. Just trashy propaganda. Who’s going to embarrassing enough to wear one of these shirts anyway? Good for a rag.

  • +3

    Salty tears, to funny

    • +2

      *too

      • +1

        Even funnier now

  • +2

Do bogans really need more hole digging jobs?

  • +3

Yes it’s a free t-shirt but the message and purpose it aligns with is not something we should be proud of. Fair enough you want something free but unfortunately can’t support this.

The industrial revolution cut traditional jobs but we found alternatives.
The internet revolution cut traditional jobs but we found alternatives.
The mining boom can end and we can find alternatives.

  • +6

People cant reach on a consensus around weather Adani T-Shirt shoul d or shoudn't be worn and expect global leaders to work on it.

  • +11

    Don't support terrible things.

  • +8

This is blatant low-cost political advertising. No order form but to send them an email to make a request? How cheap is that? It has probably cost them nothing to get on the front page.

    • +3

Did you look at the quality of the rest of the site? Those images… ugh. Par for the course evidently. Done on the cheap. Surprised?

  • +7

There's a reason why every single viability assessment has rejected adani. Even the banks don't want to back the adani mine, that should just about tell you everything. The only way it will be profitable is if it's heavily subsidised by our government. People are seriously supporting our tax dollars to fund a Foreign-owned mine which will employ mostly cheap Indian workers? Even from a purely economical standpoint, adani is a total joke that should have been dead a few years ago. Then you factor in the environmental issues and the company's history of failures and it just becomes moronic that anyone would support it.

    • +1

The banks only don't want to back it because of the pressure from special interest groups and the reputational risk.

Nothing to do with profitability of the project itself.

      • +3

Good theory but it's bull because even Chinese banks don't want to touch it. Banks don't care about reputation as long as it makes money. The mine has no viable path to being profitable except through heavy subsidisation. It's another case of a foreign company trying to profit off Auatralian taxpayers

  • +9

    Climate change isn't a joke

  • -5

Never had this much fun reading posts since 18-May-19 at Twitterlandia.

The triggering!!! Shall we talk about how electric cars are actually bad for the planet?

BTW Al Gore predicted the world will end in 2016 due to climate change. So we are all living in a simulation now.

    • +7

Hope you never have kids so you dont have explain to them why you killed the planet to troll people.

      • We're not killing the planet.
Countries with many times our population are.

        • +1

Pft! We are ALL on this planet together. Hence we are still contributing!

          • +1

@Cousin IT: So my kids are guaranteed a better planet if I alone stop my negative contributions??

        • +3

We all are, bud. There is no 1 source, so by your logic no one is at fault and therfor no one will change.

The only way to change is if everyone gets in.

But its clear now that you're sook about people "breaking site rules" is really just an excuse to have a sook that people are against this disgusting mine.

          • -1

@ScruffTheJanitor: Nope, the rules of this site are the rules that members must abide by.

There are plenty of other options on this site where you can discuss the positives and negatives about the Adani mine, even on this deal page. But leaving nonsense comments just to vote negative is against the rules.

If you don't like the rules, go to another site.

            • +3

@[Deactivated]: If you don't like people complaining about coal and killing the planet, go to another site. Maybe 4chan? Might find your kind of crowd there.

              • @ScruffTheJanitor: I don't have a problem with people discussing anything, just stick to the site rules. I'm not going anywhere because I haven't violated any of the rules that users must follow on this site.

                • +3

@[Deactivated]: You mustn't be able to read very well. I never said you were forced off the site, I said you should choose to leave because of the massive sook you are having.

        • +2

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnsV9i6ULRU Australia is the largest Coal Exporter in the world. We definitely have an impact.

      • +2

Look at his profile pic and comment and tell me that this guy will ever even find a partner to have kids

  • +6

So screw the farmers who have been trying to manage water - and waste water like it's nothing

    • +1

Read this in The Age did you?

So the fact that law mandates farmers getting water before Adani, is false?

      • +4

Yeh, cmon you need some non-biased Murdoch media to get your 'facts' from

        • -1

So what's nonbiased in your educated opinion? ABC?

  • +10
    • Defective product
    • Major issues with retailer
    • The deal is not the cheapest available
    • +3

The deal is not the cheapest available

      Where's the cheaper deal ?

    • +6
      1. Not defective, it's a promo pack. Is there a printing issue we're not aware of?
      2. Major issues with the retailer- have they had issues with not sending out things before? Ethical objections are irrelevant on OZB.
      3. How is free not the cheapest available?
      • +5

The mine is the defective product. The shirt advertises a defective product.

Adani is an awful company. Theres the major issues.

You are advertising for a company. Usually this is something you get paid for. So free is more than what you should be getting.

        • +4

The product is the shirt, not the mine. Is the shirt defective?

    • If you know a cheaper place to get a #StartAdani t-shirt, we'd all like to hear about it.

    • How is the shirt defective?
And could you please advise the cheaper option?

      • +3

The product on the shirt is defective.

Getting paid to advertise for them is the cheaper option.

  • +6

Just as much a deal as the rifles that get posted here after mass shootings.

    • -1

So I guess you complain about advertising for trucks after hundreds of people have been run over?
Or advertising for kitchen knives after dozens of people have been sliced and diced?
Or advertising for cars after a footpath rampage in a car?
What about garden fertaliser after a bomb has gone off?

Or do you just get triggered when you see a gun advertised?

      • +3

Sounds like my reply triggered you? Bonus.

  • And the mods will allow all the negging despite it not meeting the criteria! What a surprise!

    • +2

Yep. There's literally nothing wrong with this "deal".

    • -2

OZ bargain showing a left wing bias? Never.🤣🤣🤣

      • +4

Its left wing to now want a coal mine that will dredge an Australian icon?

Right wing have gone so far right than neutral is now left to them.

  • +9

This is less of a bargain and more a trolling political point.

    • +4

Well, the religious ones seem to get a pass. Ideology is ideology at the end of the day, not everyone should need to agree, but we should be mature enough to respectfully disagree. Or…. turf them all sounds good to me too!

      • +5

We should have done a better job at respecting the tobacco industry's attempt at misleading the public about the dangers of smoking cigarettes.. this isn't ideology, this is a rejection of the facts and the muddying of the waters by the fossil fuel industry.

  • +9

    (profanity) Andani

  • +8

I dont mind the coal mine being developed, but Australia must be crazy to let an Indian company screw Queensland including the ocean. He has a bad record and also an India. So its a win situation for Adani and a big loss for Australia. Let someone who respects the land and country take over the mine. Adani is bad news.

  • +3

I hope nobody wearing such a shirt gets a milkshake spilled on them.

    • +3

I hope nobody spilling a milkshake on someone gets a smack in the mouth

      • +2

        Milkshakes=Mass Shootings

So much for the tolerant left amirite

      • +1

I solve all of my problems with violence. Me so mature.
