Just got the 3x Camel notification :)

Seems like they dropped for the Days of Play sale early.

  • A miniature recreation of the original PlayStation, preloaded with 20 of the best titles from a game-changing era.
  • The design of PlayStation Classic perfectly mirrors the original console, with the same logo, button layout and packaging – but 45% smaller than 1994’s PlayStation.
  • This miniature console comes with an HDMI cable* to connect to your TV complete with two wired controllers, plus a virtual memory card to save your adventures as you switch between titles.

As always, enjoy!

Agreed with you at first but then I found out that it's easily hacked and makes it worthy now.

      https://youtu.be/u_T5IbLxNV4?t=703

      • Yup super easy to hack to play basically any game

    • +2

That guy talks a lot of dribble

      • I actually skipped most of the video and only picked up the part about the PSC with the hacks being decent now.

      • +3

        Drivel, not dribble

        • What's a drivel?

          • +2

@RocketSwitch: You're mixing up two expressions. You can say a person 'speaks drivel', or you can say that they 'dribble'. Saying they 'talk dribble' doesn't really make sense.

            • -1

@ybanens: But, what if the guy is a really great basketball player?

        • +1

It's a common internet english error.
Much like many people spelling the verb 'to lose' as 'to loose'

  • I bit at that price with Cashrewards.

  • Save me from rushing to Big W tomorrow morning.

Had Camelx3 notification set up, but email went straight into the spam folder…

  • +2

cheers OP Pulled the trigger - with cashback and the $30 amazon giftcard from the WD deal.

  • Got one.
Now hopefully the Playstation wireless headphones become $69 on Amazon too.

  • Thanks! At this price I'm more than happy

  • Hopefully other retailers will follow. Love to get a few at this price to mod.

    • +1

They should. I’d like to pick one up as long weekend kicks off :~)

      • +1

        Big W from tomorrow

        • Not too much stock near me. See how I go though. Hoping JB and/or EB come to this price.

    • +1

      Why wait for other retailers?

  • Thanks, bought one as held off the Gamesmen deal and luckily its on Amazon.

  • Fantastic. Bought 2 with 8% shopback. Used $30 credit from 10TB hard drive fail deal

At $150 way overpriced, at $40 excellent considering it can be hacked

    • Isn't shopback 4.5%?

      • +1

8% on video games which this comes under

        • It's actually 4.5% for video games

    • +3

Wow. $30 for a price error?

Next time I need to not pass on obvious price errors.

      • I got this too.

  • This a great deal considering what you can do with it, I’m already set with too many consoles to count otherwise would pickup

    • +1

Me too, still picked up to make myself feel better for missing out on the WiiU deal

      • hahahahaha, yeah now i missed both

  • +1

    $39 now : ).

  • +4

Lol 39 now. Time to cancel and reorder for that sweet $1

    • Ordered too early, can't cancel anymore =/

      • +5

Ordered 10 minutes ago, cancelled, re-ordered….. $1 saved, damn you oz bargain for making me such a tight arse! That's a frozen coke!

        • How to cancel, I can't seem to do it now days, used to be able to

        • Nah $1 hamburger at Maccas and then shake n win a free frozen coke from Hungry Jacks :D

      • +3

Get on live chat and ask them to refund the $1 difference, they're usually excellent with that.

        • Live Chat closes at midnight.

          • @RichardL: Ahh damn! I'm sure they'll help out in the morning :)

  • lol added to cart then it went down to $39.

  • Hoping they will PM the PSVR deal from BigW.

    • PSVR $247.16

      • Was hoping for the $299 Mega Pack.

This starter pack was cheaper at JB late last year.

        • Ahh fair enough, maybe they're holding off until Big W puts the price as $299, hopefully they'll match it.

Actually, seems like they haven't got it in stock currently.

  • …..

  • The Days of Play sale is live now!

  • Thanks. Ordered. Not a particular fan of PS but got a family member who grew up with it so they’d appreciate the nostalgic value.

Is it really THAT bad as reviewed? Interested to replay FF7 at least.

    • +1

      Hack it and it good.

  • +4

I haven't opened up my C64 mini or SNES mini yet - don't know if I can justify adding another mini-console - can already emulate PS1 quite nicely but…

  • Can “Donkey Kong 3: Dixie Kong’s Double Trouble” be added?

    • If you Jack it I believe you can run what you want, I just cant remember if you need to run separste emulators or if the built in one does (I think the former)

  • +1

I'm the same as most of you guys, I haven't touched my snes or famicom mini yet. I don't get much time to sit infront of a tv to game now adays, so playing nes classics and arcade archive titles on the switch has been good.

I buy the mini consoles cause they look great beside their full size versions. I've added the neogeo mini to my collection today so I guess i better add a ps mini to the mix. Would never pay $150 for it, but at this price it's less than the cost of a raspberry pi 3, case and controllers.

Now just got to keep an eye out for the nes mini when it goes on sale.

With the new list of games for the megadrive mini, i can't wait for it to come out.

    • How much was the Neo Geo mini?

      • 95bux when converted to au. Just had a stop over in hk and saw it had a price drop so i picked it up. Bloody nice unit, sux it doesn't have an internal battery though.

        • What does the internal battery allow you to do?

          • +1

@Jackson: I'm guessing play it without being plugged into power.

        • U can use a powerbank on it.

  • Thanks OP! Snapped one up for $37.6 after CR.

  • Thanks OP. $29 with my voucher.

  • Thx, got one to give as a gift as I know I'll never play it just like my nes and snes minis

  • Thanks, got one.

  • Yup, it's finally worth it to buy one now.

  • +1

Thanks for the heads up.. now too get the Mini nes and snes

  • Is there any point in getting this if you have a working original?

    • +1

This is much more convenient. Less accurate though.

    • +2

Original has no HDMI. And the games aren't included.

  • I wonder if this would be good to buy for kids to play in a few years time? (Mine are too young atm)

    • I'd buy something in a few years time.

  • +2

Can Imod it to get Jonah Lomu rugby on this?

    • Yes, google Bleemsync.

  • +1

Finally worth buying now vs the ridiculous initial release price at $149.

  • +1

Got one! Cant wait to play Hercules and relive my childhood

    • cant agree more! Most of these games are good duo games for someone who isnt fantastic at games

  • Should I buy this or 2nd_hand PS3 @ sub $100?

  • Been holding out for it to drop below $50, guess this is the time to finally buy.

Thank god I cancelled my preorder back when they still wanted $149.

  • What AC adapter is needed for this?

"A compatible AC adaptor (not included) is required to use this console. Use an AC adaptor that supports 5V, 1.0A USBN (Type A) output" (Big W)

    • Any mobile phone charger will do.

  • Expired or no longer in stock

    • Phew… just got lucky… may be i got the last one :p

    • OPs link is now going to different seller, which is at a higher price ($51.95)

  • Yeah no stock left

  • +1

Plenty of stock still at BigW, you can click and collect too
    https://www.bigw.com.au/product/sony-playstation-classic-con…

    • Every store I've checked has at most 1 in stock…

    • Thanks, I was able to click/collect from my local!

  • Just picked one up at BigW Epping Vic

Saw couple of units there in stock

  • anyway to get NBA Jam onto this? is that even a PS title?
trying to relive some childhood memories ;)

    • yes you can add games.

If you are talking about the 16bit NBA Jam then yes there is a playstation version of it (NBA Jam T.E). I remember loading time was really bad though but it shouldn't be a problem here.
