Or alternatively, buy the Collector's Edition from JB HiFi for PC: $429 at https://www.jbhifi.com.au/pc-game/cyberpunk-2077-collectors-…

The Collector’s Edition comes with the following physical items:
    Collector’s Edition box
    Case with game code
    Collectible SteelBook
    25 cm / 10 inch statue depicting V — the game’s protagonist — in action
    Hardcover art book
    Metal pin set
    Quadra V-tech metal keychain
An annotated copy of A Visitor’s Guide to Night City sealed in an NCPD Evidence Bag
    Embroidered patches
World Compendium detailing the game’s setting and lore
    Postcards from Night City
    Map of Night City
    Sticker bomb set

That link is not published yet on the CDProjektRed site as yet - and seems to be the first Australian retailer to be selling it. Stock is almost sold out it seems.

    • +1

Stock almost sold out, wow! The game hit Global Top Sellers on Steam within 30mins of it going live.

      • +2

Yep I found the link once pre-orders were announced, just was puzzled if that was the real actual price given in the US it ranges from $200 to $250 USD (which would put it well under $400 AUD) and if any other retailers would stock cheaper (Amazon.com.au, BigW, HarveyNorman seem to be the others - but they haven't gone live as yet).

Stock counter seems legit - I watched it go from 100% to nearly gone.

        • +6

Hopefully the game will live up to our expectations, what they showed at Xbox E3 was just awesome!

Best of luck to CD PROJEKT RED!

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: The Witcher 3 is probably the best game I have ever played, so if that's anything to go by, it should be excellent. They are magnificent at world building.

      • +3

LOL Rush in bud might join those smart guys lining up for new Apple products 🤪

      • +2

Jesus I knew it would be popular but for a $400+ collectors edition to nearly sell out hours after pre-orders start is just insane

      • Top sellers list isn't really a great metric to go by, based on revenue not units sold

      • PS4 versions still in stock

    • +4

EB Games Australia finally posted - same price. https://www.ebgames.com.au/product/pc/240272-cyberpunk-2077-…

      They additionally include:
      Physical Content:
      Malestrom Steelbook
      Key Ring
      2 x Posters

      • +5

Cheers, got the PC edition. 430 is steep but how far away it is, to me it’s worth it

        • I don't think you'll regret it.

          • @[Deactivated]: Doubt it too considering the hours I have in other CDPR games

        • +2

I think you'll regret it. You could have pre-ordered the game for $89, but instead threw $400+ for additional worthless crap you won't need.

          • @cerealJay: You can cancel these things you know, if I wanted to cancel or think it’s a waste further down the line. I’ve definitely spent more on less, so I am not too phased. I generally buy games on deep discounts, so heaven forbid I spend a little once a blue moon.

        • You can also pre-order @JB-HI-FI for $79. None of the extra content in the collector's edition is actually in-game content so won't be useful for anything/won't be missing out. Good deal as you save $360.

      • +2

This is one expensive week for me!

        • Steam backlog looking good lol

          • +3

@[Deactivated]: Urgh tell me about it. Gonna need to buy some 2TB SSDs now.

      • +1

Damn, no pickup from EB Games. Good luck to us West Australians on receiving it on launch day with Easter weekend being the previous weekend.

      • +1

So EB Games edition has more stuff than JB Hifi?

      • +2

Preordered standard edition through them so I’ll get the steelbook etc, and at release I’ll just price match whoever has the best price.

      • +1

PC sold out both here and at JB? That was quick.

    • +22

I just want a computer game, not shares in Rio Tinto.

      • +2

Why not both? These might double faster than RIO lol

    • +2

Cyberpunk and RDR 2 were the only two games I was willing to go collectors editions for this gen, and they’ve both turned out underwhelming. RDR 2 was quite a lacklustre package with all the physical swag in it’s own seperate package, while Cyberpunk is… 429.00!

      Cue heatedgamermoment.gif

      • +3

        remember : no preorders

        • -2

Go away with the reddit bandwagon

          • +4

            @Kozhutki: No, the man's got a point.
It's pointless to do preorders, at best you get the game a bit earlier and at worst you get No Man's Sky.

            • +3

@Kangal: Fallout 76s disasterous launch made No Man's Sky look like a GOTY contender.

            • @Kangal: It's only pointless if you're trying to get the base game.
Pre-Ordering for "Collector's Editions" with the physical swag they contain is the only way you'll get it.

PC Version sold out with 2 hours on JB and EB games on release this morning.

            • @Kangal: I generally agree about preordering, though with collector's editions, you often have no choice. You have to preorder them, otherwise you don't get them.

No Man's Sky is a great game, and was pretty decent at release. So not the best argument to use against preordering.

            • -1

@Kangal: it's also pointless telling people how to spend the money they earn, it's none of your business.

    • +7

im so hyped for this game, but thank god not enough to lose braincells and buy a $429 rrp preorder

  • +1

No spoilers but guess someone got a fat cheque out of this. Now where can I get the $400 battle toads box set ;)

  • +25

CDP is probably the only company I'd feel comfortable pre-ordering from these days. Hopefully the game delivers and they smash it in sales and continue to show the likes of EA and Blizzard how it's done.

    • +5

I've heard good things about Larian studios too. Just started playing DOS2 and it's a good game.

      • +2

        Criminally underrated

        • +1

Underrated? It's got a metacritic rating of 93 from 71 different review outlets and Steam user rating of 94% positive after 41,255 votes

Looks like it's received the positive user feedback and critical acclaim it deserved.

    • +1

By having similar shit working conditions?

      • -6

Actually CDPR treats their workers much worse than EA. EA has one of the best work environments for game developers from what I hear. Where as CDPR has had many issues with overworking and is generally known as a horrible place to work at.

    • +1

Nobody exploits their workers as well as cd project, take note EA

  • +17

HOLY HELL! I only just saw the latest trailer with Keanu MUTHA FLIPPIN Reeves!

    • -5

nice work posting a reveal spoiler before the video link

      • +2

Revealing a cast member is considered spoiler territory now?

        • +4

it is if it forms a major part of the excitement

i for one wished they didnt stick his face in the thumbnail so i couldve experience the surprise reveal

people at E3 did not see it coming, so they got hyped as hell.

So i would say yes its spoilery from a teaser/reveal sense

  • +32

    Remember no pre orders…..

    https://imgur.com/gallery/06OqaYV

    • +4

But, but, it's CDPR. It'll be fine

      • +15

Didn't we say that about Bethesda? Look how fallout 76 turned out…
        Lesson learnt.

        • +16

No I don’t think so. They’re infamous for their grand scale games sitting atop flaky engines that have all kinds of issues, many that don’t get fixed.

        • +12

People said FO76 was gonna be good?

The way CDPR have been treating ALL their games, the gaming community (with GOG Galaxy 2.0) and care they put into their games (Witcher 3 a good example, including the DLC's), I'll give them a chance.

        • +1

Fallout 76 already had public beta test and numerous YouTube & commercial outlets blasting the game as a bug-ridden gameplay devoid nothingness before it released. Nobody would pre-order after that. Was obvious from the beginning that it would be a horribly rushed launch.

Not to mention Bethesda proud tradition of releasing hopelessly broken games (with unresolved engine related bugs that span accross multiple titles) that require a bunch of community fix mods to make into a working end product.

      • +13

        Think of the benefits Knoxis!

If you give them your money now, you get to buy the game for the same price and at the time time as everyone else does but you'll get some jpegs as well.

  • +9

Deal means nothing to me, but upvote for Keanu Reeves.

    • +4

Baba yaga bout to burn night city to the ground!

  • Cannot wait for this game! Had it on preorder at EB for a few months now. Looks like I’ll be waiting a good few more lol

  • +1

So far jb hi fi has the cheaper pc pre order

  • +25

Not out until 16 April 2020! By then Australia will be in recession so plenty of time to play video games

  • Does anyone know if i preorder the CE from JB or EB they will do a midnight release? I would like to play it as soon as it goes live rather than waiting for stores to open and then play

    • Big titles usually always get a midnight release (only some stores participate) but its too early to tell. They talk about this stuff closer to launch.

    • I pre-ordered the CE from JB Hifi. It was delivery only (and cost $3.50 to ship). They usually endeavor to post it a few days before so that it arrives to your home on the day of launch.

    • youre already gunna wait a year, does an extra night kill you

  • +17

"You know what you get for pre-ordering a game? A big d**k in your mouth." - Cartman

  • +4

If there was a Keanu Reeves figurine included it would be an insta buy.
    Cyberpunk Wick = win

  • +2

The JB Hi Fi one will probably come with a code for GOG right?
They wouldn't release it on Steam upfront? (I'm hoping)

    • +5

      I'm 99% sure it's a GoG key

Edit: Confirmed by GoG Twitter account, all boxed editions are GoG keys.

      • Thanks for the confirmation! :)

  • +3

I told my boss and my wife I'll be unavailable and uncontactable for 2 weeks from 16 April 2020 onwards

    • +9

Plenty of time for them to makes plans together

    • Isn't that one and the same person for you?!😆

  • +6

Since the PC version from EB Games and JB Hifi comes with a key for GOG - why not pre-order on GOG? That way CD project Red get 100% of the money instead of maybe $40 from the retail versions. Also you'll be able to play the instant the game goes live, from memory GOG had a pre-download a few days before for The Witcher 3, would expect the same with Cyberpunk 2077

    • EB version has a Steelbook

  • +31

I'm looking forward to this as much as anyone, and enjoyed the surprise- but…

    • No Pre-orders, ever. Wait for the reviews!
    • How is this "bargain"? The game is regular retail price, the pre-order gets you a few bits of digital cr@p…
    • +7

I’m getting a bit sick of people trying to tell others that they’re “not allowed to preorder.” I get where you’re coming from, but what business is it if yours to tell someone else how to spend their money? I don’t preorder often, but studios like Remedy, Polyphony, Naughty Dog and CDPR? I’ll show my support to dev’s like this as early as possible, and I’ll most definitely be preordering Cyberpunk. What I won’t do, is preach to others about what they should or shouldn’t do. Pre-release coverage of games is so extensive these days, I think it’s easy enough to make your own decision on a game rather than waiting for reviews (opinions). When you’re ready, come down off your pedestal.

      • +7

People like you are awesome because you help pay for the game at launch.

If everyone was like me and waited 2-4 years after release to pick it up at $10 or less, most gaming companies will go bankrupt.

In the interests of keeping a good studio open so I can buy this game for $10 in 2023, I support this person in preordering.

        • -1

Ah yes, how ever will a multi-million/billion dollar game company survive if I don't buy their games at full price

      • +8

What I won’t do, is preach to others about what they should or shouldn’t do

Aren't you doing that now though? Seems like you're preaching about how other people shouldn't advise people not to preorder…

I see a few people saying you shouldn't preorder… but this post is the only preach to others about what they should or shouldn't do.

I’ll show my support to dev’s like this as early as possible

You can like, do what you want.

Personally I think sometimes people like to anthropomorphise organisations. These companies aren't some small business, the money isn't going to the devs…

Last year CDPR made $109.3 million profit

        • +7

Exactly. The game company will make huge profits regardless of pre-ordering. The pre-order thing is marketing bullshit. The money sits in someone's bank account other than yours, earning interest. Meanwhile you don't have a game to play for the money spent.

          • +2

@cerealJay: For physical retailers it’s generally a $10 deposit which won’t make or break most people. I do think digital retailers should do the same but and only fully credit the buyer on delivery.

            • @Smigit: This

            • @Smigit: What do you mean a "$10 deposit"? The price of the pre-order is $79. That's what you need to hand over to pre-order the game.

    • +13

Agree with you here. Paying upfront now for a scheduled April 2020 release (could be delayed) and the bonuses are all digital. 30% discount on merch only applies to full-priced items. People are just getting carried away from the trailer hype. Should be a great game but this isn't much of a bargain.

      • A discount is a discount, is it not? Why can't we post this, what's the difference between 30% off Merchandise vs 30% off a phone for example?

        • +7

I'm not saying you can't post it, I just don't think it's a bargain. I'm with Aussie Broadband and I didn't think the 5% discount for paying upfront was a good deal either. It's almost a year in advance and I like to be flexible with my money, even if I am 99.99% sure it'll be a great game.

          • -3

@[Deactivated]: I get where you're coming from, but as far as I understand, any discount has every right to be posted here, no matter how small or 'bad'.

            • +5

              @[Deactivated]:

People negging this must be the ones who preordered Fallout 76, and got God Howarded into oblivion lol

    Sad…..

    • +7

As someone who negged, i just don't think preordering a game makes sense.

If you could preoder and get it for half the price, sure i'd be on it. When there was physical copies it made sense too, so you didn't miss out.

What's the bargain though? Pay full price 10 months before you can play the game and get some bonus pictures from the game?

It'll be a bargain when it's released and people that wait a couple of months pay a lot less for it, or when one shop undercuts the other on release day… or when you can pick up a CD key online for half the price.

      This is Ozbargain after all!

  • +11

Have to agree with above poster - the price doesn't seem very good, and pre-ordering is generally a bad idea.

Would consider this a bargain if it was say $60, but $90 is way more than I'll pay for a game.

  • +1

So are there any deals on this preorder yet? Say someone just wants to go ahead with preorder but wants to get some extra discount.

Also JB sold out on pre order and e.g. not listed anymore

  • What's the normal price for this?

    • +2

      $89.95

      • +5

OK, that's a neg vote for me dawg.

Can't wait for this game, when a real deal comes up I'll be sure to upvote!

        • +1

Yep, apart from the coupon the other stuff isn't really worthy of posting. Games on GoG always have these bonuses. I may as well post some r6 standard price deals because you can unlock some wallpapers through uplay

  • +2

This doesn't seem like a deal to me. Hopefully it's a great game though.

  • +5

Sorry I don't neg things usually but some digital files and a game not yet reviewed for full price is not really a bargain….

  • +5

Never pre-order games. We've seen what happened to the likes of Fallout, Anthem etc when developers get greedy and lazy
