  • Good price, Average speaker
The sound signature of this speaker in my opinion, when compared with the JBL Charge 4 is awful. Bass is overdone and not natural at all, even when extra bass is turned off. Max volume is also not very impressive even for its size. Yes it’s cheap, but only a few days ago you could buy a NEW JBL Charge 4 for $120 (Myer eBay), only $33 more for a much better sounding speaker, that can deliver more than drowning bass.
I would recommend you hear this speaker before you buy it. As I believe many people would be unimpressed when compared to its competitors.

Newer SRSXB31B (seconds) is available for $109.92 with coupon. The curved shape makes it nice to hold.
Current SRSXB32B is $206.10 with coupon.

    • The newer versions apparently have USB charging too, I think the Bluetooth and clarity is improved. Better waterproofing (think xb30 is nit waterproof just resistant, new ones can not float, not submersible iirc )

I can confirm the SRSXB31 has microUSB charging port and can charge a phone via the USB A port.

@Stockyhome wrote below that SRSXB30 doesn't charge via USB which personally means I won't buy simply because I have a strong preference for only buying portable electronics which are powered via USB.

i bought two of these a while ago when office works was clearing them out for $100. The sound is a little muddy but the bass is awesome. I run an equaliser when I’m listening to music but these are fine for games and movies. I have the UE BOOM as a portable speaker and I’ll say that I can make the SONY sound great but the BOOM cannot simply conjure bass out of thin air and sounds like a phone speaker lacking depth of range by comparison

They lack a USB charging port but share the 5v required to charge it. Mine are used as pc speakers so the chargers are plugged into the wall but an eBay dc to USB adaptor can make it charge from a USB charger which is easier when travelling. You can charge devices from it and the lights looks pretty awesome.

I take these camping and they last forever, very easy to pair multiple speakers and with two speakers you are able to select stereo L R or MONO outputs when running more than two, up to 20 speakers in sync or something crazy

These are outdated IMHO but would be a bargain at $50ea refurbished.
