    I love these deals.
    So much fun

No one expects to be honoured

    Like playing the lottery,
You hope you've won first division

Until you get that order cancellation email

And you've had your fun for a few hours

    • +5

      So much fun

Hopefully no one had lost their job during the process

  • +1

    At least 12000 refunds lol.

  • +5

Quickest time to 10,000 clicks ever? Maybe Neil or a mod can confirm?

    • +2

Imagine if it was a Monday night when there are 10x more people online.

  • sweet 1 cent phone.

  • +9

Don't hit the Confirm button too fast:

    TOTAL AMOUNT
    $1,248.00 AUD

  • +2

Lets go, it's been a while since we had one of these situations here. Good on you OP for posting this!

    • +2

Only reason I bought it was to join in on some weekend fun… Also to hopefully get a 1 cent phone.

      • +1

Haha, only reason I commented was to be part of the action :D Missed out on buying one!

How are the kids doing with their OWLs this year?

  • +3

Seems to be fixed now :( hopefully we end up with our phones

    • +2

If you had ordered it and kept silent, you might be lucky to get it shipped.

  • +2

Looking at how many clicks here in OzB, at least 10,000 units have been sold at 1c!

    • +7

Wow, that 100 dollars in sales!

    • A click doesn't mean a sale.

For example, you can still click through now and it'll keep increasing the number of clicks. But it's no longer $0.01..

      • It’s a guesstimate figure before price was fixed

  • Said there was an issue placing your order. Tried again then it went back to normal price

  • i managed to order 2 but the second confirmation it showed on the site as $1.2k but on my bank account it showed as 1c

    • +3

Your order might actually get processed.

    • +1

What does the email confirmation say?

      • it says 1cent

  • I just clicked $1289 for it!!

    • I'm sure you can cancel it

      • -2

Yes. Optus stuffed it up, so they have to rectify it.

  • +1

    Lol ya clowns

  • +20

    Bought 2 for $2496.
    Thanks for the top deal!

  • +1

If they would honour it the product would have been pulled. Due to being out of stock. Clearly they will not honour it.

  • +4

Woohoo got jb to price beat it

    • +3

      You wish :)

    • -2

      i call bullshit
      reciept?

    • +1

Same, I was in the store looking to buy one with a price match when this came up.

The manager had to approve it but said the Optus website was something they can match against.

      • +4

Post a receipt or i call bullshit.

      • they can match against

But won’t if it’s below cost and definitely won’t if it’s an obvious price error

  • +1

    now $1248

    • +2

Thats a massive 12479900% price hike.

  • I've got a receipt from Paypal after the Optus site had a problem with my payment. Who bloody knows. No way this is honoured though.

  • Any chance this will be honoured?

    • +6

      No lmfao

    • We all can hope..

    • +8

lol, its basically just a fun evening of trolling floptus

  • That was fun to watch.
Good luck to everyone who was able to put an order through

  • +1

Went through the ordering and payment process then, at the end, it asked me to confirm details and … holy xxxxx the tax was $113 and the total price was $1,248.

Please check your statements, because nowhere was this amount disclosed until the very end.

Lucky I didn't press confirm, like I did with the previous pages, rushing to get one.

  • -4

I ordered one 5mins ago, hoping I'm not going to get chargeback, they just won't houner this will they?

    • HAHAAH it's for 1 cent, you'll be glad if they even honour it.

  • +23

Thanks OP just got 3 for $3,744. Seemed like a real bargain - trust OzBargain to deliver!

  • +4

Why does this remind me of the 10TB WD My Book deal from a few weeks back…

    • What happenned to that

      • The drive was listed as $129 but went back up to ~$400-$500. Some orders were honoured by Amazon though.
        the deal is located here

  • +3

    That's some first post OP!

  • PayPal said $0.01.

  • +1

    Lol

Email confirmation for one, Paypal transactions three

    • email for one . Paypal 2 :)

  • My inner OzBargainer is annoyed that I was still charged $0.01 via PayPal only to then get the "error processing your payment".

    • I got the error but it processed the payments, no confirmation email tho

      • i got the same thing, charged my cc, got the payment error page and no emails. I think this happened while they were updating the price.

  • Anyone got screenshot?

    • +7

Don't waste the poor call centre operator's time

    • +32

Broke Ozb 2nd rule ,, never contact support.. :)

        • +17

          1c. Grow up.

          • @Bellpop: No. Been with Optus since 2005 this is playback time.

            • +4

              @Enjj0y: ‘Playback’ time 🤦‍♂️

    • +3

Yes. It's their duty to sell you anything you have paid for. Make sure you talk to a supervisor. If that fails, threaten with consumer affairs.

      • -6

i will start with getting email first as still no reference to put my case only bank showing money the debited.

        • +4

          That's an outrage

  • +2

Great way to get people to buy a $1248 phone.

Honour the full price orders and reject the $0.01.

    Well played Optus.

Now back to my crying about having not yet received my Wish E-gift cards after almost 22 hours.

  • -6

Ordered 3. Waiting for Optus sorry cancellation message.
0.01 for your data, Optus wins?

  • ha ha ha! price updated to $1248!

  • -4

    scam of the century

  • -3

If they don't honor this, I'm taking it up with ACCC

    • +1

Let us know how you go.

      • +13

Thanks. If it doesn't workout I'll go to VCAT
        Then my local MP
        Then my Federal MP
        Then Scott Morrison
        Supreme Court
Then take the matter up with the UN as a humanitarian crisis

I won't let them get away with this

        • +1

Happy clapper slapper bogan engadine mcdonalds we want the truth.

        • +4

        • +1

Don't forget to invent faster than light travel so you can take it to the inter-galactic republic.

    • +1

I've taken it up with Clive Palmer

  • They will never honour this deal. They just did this to increase the website visits and got us check out other things

    • +10

did we check out other things though?

      • +2

I sure did, trying to find any other accidents

  • Never have I dreaded an email so much like in these cases!

  • Class action if we don't get our phones. Who's in?

  • +3

I raced through the order so fast that I set my DOB as my address 10/10

    • +2

I raced through so fast I didn't even see that it ask for DoB, oops. I wonder what I put.

      • I've just gone through the checkout process again and at no point does it ask me for my DOB

        • +1

Nevermind, I realise now they meant they put 10/10 as address, not address as DoB.

  • +6

Something just clicked. Has anyone ever tried screenshot these types of price errors and claim price protection?

    • Champion

    • +2

Also worth a shot to see if Officeworks will price match a screenshot.

    • How does one do this?

      • Through making a price protection insurance claim that is offered through some credit cards.

      • -1

But the phone for $1248. Have a screenshot of the 1 cent deal. Ask credit card insurance to pay the difference.

  • +1

I managed two order one under my name and one under my wife,

Best 2 cents I’ve ever spent haha

    • +15

Yep, they will express post it. You should stay home on Monday
