    That's A$ 23.42 for 36 months - A$ 0.65 a month !!
    Am I missing something?

    • +7

Yeah, most of the time you only get 20% of your bandwidth

      • +1

lol, then PIA seems to be better. I have 60 days left and only 20% drop..

        • +1

if you want 100% bandwidth all the time every time, get express VPN.. i highly highly recommend them

100mbps all the time every time

          • +3

@P3aker: I mean, if you want 100% bandwidth all the time every time, don't use a VPN.

If you use a VPN though, accept there will be some bandwidth loss.

            • @DingoBilly: no, i get 100% of my bandwidth with Express VPN thats why i said it.

              • +8

                @P3aker: Amazing! A VPN with 0bytes overhead!

                • @RohBoat: Yep, correct. You should try them out.

                  • @P3aker: Oh I get you now, you're talking about bandwidth and not throughput.

I am getting 104.43Mbps bandwidth and 99.08Mbps throughput, so about 5% loss with ibvpn.

                • +1

                  @RohBoat:

Amazing! A VPN with 0bytes overhead!

They've done studies you know. 60% of the time, it works every time.

          • +1

@P3aker: I get 100% of my bandwidth with PIA..

      • I've used nord for a few years and in my experience the speed losses are more or less negligible on my 50 mbps home fibre connection (within a couple mbps). On aarnet fibre, losses can be more like 30% (e.g. 120 mbps to ~80) depending on the server you're connected to, time of day etc.

It may not be the fastest but I suspect that the differences in speed may not be noticeable for many, especially if like me they are only on a 50 mbps connection anyway.

I'd say it is a good value option at these prices.

      • Not sure which server you are using but I see no noticable difference when using nord VPN on an Aussie server. I am on Optus wireless broadband and can fully saturate my "line", get between 4 to 6mb/s.

        Would recommend for the price

  • +3

    (profanity) Nord, slowest VPN

    • +2

That was my experience too. I'm surprised people put up with it.

For this price I would get it just for geoblocking if I wasn't already with another VPN. But I wouldn't be using it while downloading or streaming.

  • Errrr I bought it about 6 months ago for 3 years at $120 !!! dangit

  • Is the code SHOPBACK or 3ynordvpn?

    • +2

You can use any of the two.

      • I did use SHOPBACK around 9:30am this morning, however no notification from shopback around successful tracking.
I usually get the shopback email within an hour or so.

        • +1

I've had a look and the orders that have tracked so far haven't been processed to customer accounts yet. Give it up to 2 days to automatically feed through.

If it's been more than 2 days since purchase, just submit your order details here and the team will process your claim from there :)

I am still waiting for the cash back from the last deal..

  • I tried their service before, paying full fee for 3yrs. Wanted to get Turkey for Netflix, but that didn’t work. So asked to cancel the account and money back, which was processed quickly and money was in my account in about day or two.

Anyone recommend free or reasonably cheap VPN for Netflix? Thanks in advance.

    • I've got ibVPN a couple of months ago when it's on sale like $80ish for 3 yrs. No problem for US Netflix (Turkish account) and Hulu. Probably not the cheapest at the moment.

      • It’s good to know something is working, thanks for that.

      • Do you use their VPN, or ibDNS?

        • Both. I prefer VPN because I am using Chromecast. ibDNS doesn't work properly.

    • +1

I think the only reliable one I've heard of is ExpressVPN. if you go through offer links (ie expressvpn/cortex), you can also get 3 months free. ends up being about $10/m

      • Thanks for the tip. I’ll give it a go. 3 months free is worth.

      • Sorry, which offer links?

        • +1

some podcasts and youtube channels do sponsored ads for them.

one of the podcasts (Cortex) i listen to is sponsored by express vpn so they have their own referral link (expressvpn.com/cortex)

  • Practically giving it away. If the cashback is that high, does that mean Nord's margins are massive in order to be able to pass on that kind of cashback?

    • Yeah, I don't really see this sustainable unless they manage to take a huge chunk of the VPN market away from PIA,TG, CyberGhost, Mullvad et al. At this price (presuming the cashback is honoured) they must be running at a loss.

      • +1

I'm guessing it's only a very small percentage of their total users that actually use cashbacks.

        • But wouldn't any referral get the same percentage given to them? I doubt Shopback itself is taking a loss here, which means it's NordVPN offering incentives to referral sites.

  • +2

    I picked up Nord in a previous deal - only has these countries for Netflix;

    USA
    UK
    France
    Japan
    India
    Canada
Germany (was Netherlands when I joined but has since changed)

Works perfectly on my Vodafone TV (Netlfix app set to factory settings, updates off, and Nord DNS in place)

Does not work for other Amazon Prime regions, is detected on the VodaTV.

    • My PS4 picks up that I'm using nord even if I set it up on my router, but I can watch on my pc in broswer if I connect via nord app on the pc. Not sure why, but don't really care. Just more FYI it doesn't always work.

    • Does Japan work reliably? I need a smart dns or vpn to watch Netflix Japan

  • Anyone having disconnection issues on win 10? I'm considering uninstalling the app and setting it up with OpenVPN or IPsec. Could be driver issues so will be formatting as well. Very happy with speeds on PC and mobile.

  • Does Shopback work on an Amazon pre-order? Amazon only charges when they ship, I think, so I'm not sure if the Shopback would work.

Edit: Pre-orders aren't listed in the exclusions, but I'm not sure if they'd apply to something that I'll be charged from in a month's time.

    • +2

Pre-orders are eligible for Cashback provided the item is scheduled to be shipped within 60 days of purchase.

      • +1

Fantastic news. Thanks for your reply!

      • Which means if the preorder is scheduled next Monday, the tracking will be initiated on the released date but not today ,I just made two preorders of switch game today, one will be released on next week, another one on end of next month

        • You'll see tracking within 4 days from when you pre-ordered, but if the item doesn't ship within 60 days of purchases then cashback associated with the order would be rejected.

  • Need to update as this price is available if you have an existing account. you just don't need a coupon

    • +1

Just note that cashback for NordVPN is only available to new NordVPN customers.

      • -3

Yes, but they way you have worded it implies this price is not available to existing customers. Which it is, and they don't have to use coupon.

        This is ozbargins not advertising.

        • +3

Sorry but this is what one of the T&Cs NordVPN has communicated to us so we'll need to stick with quoting new customers only.

          This is ozbargins not advertising.

Not sure what that has to do with anything, 1) we've pumped cashback from 30% to 85%, highest cashback rate we've offered following an 82% rate early May which had a great response and 2) we're not the OP.

  • +4

I used to use cashrewards all the time, sometimes their tracking would go awry and I'd have to contact them. Along came shopback and now I'm finding that I never use Cashrewards.

  • -1

So the 12% stuff in now only 8%? I’m glad I did those orders yesterday!

  • Does this work for watching any of the other UK channels (ie BBC Iplayer)? Currently have windscribe, but its always detected by the beeb. Express did work, but is fairly expensive.

    • +1

The Beeb is quite good at swatting.
I’ve found Ivacy has been pretty good.
I got lifetime several years ago from Stack Social for ~$us30. Really good for Beeb, not quick, but reliable, it’s my main backup VPN. The other thing I like is the split tunnel feature. SO I can funnel the BBC iPlayer app via the VPN and let other stuff go out normally.

      https://stacksocial.com/sales/ivacy-vpn-lifetime-subscriptio…

        • Yep, if you paid $150.

I got it for $us25, so if it lasted a year, that's good, less then a yr of a decent VPN, so far Ive got 2.5yrs, so I'm ahead.

Lifetime deals are dodgey, as setting up & maintaining a VPN has up front and ongoing costs, so they either take your money & run (like 4tfy), they rely on pyramid scheme (need more and more new members to fund it)? Or its a sales tactic to get some advertising (word of mouth, and on websites).

I'm not sure where Ivacy sits.

  • Hi rep, does cashback work if we pay with crypto?

    • Hi 2gSong,

Cashback for NordVPN won't work with crypto payments.

      • if Alipay?

        • Yes that's okay.

  • Is the cash back for fashion reduced from 12% to 8% now?

    • Temporarily, it'll be back.

  • Hi So does that mean that Nord VPN slows down after the 30 day refund period is over? I just signed up and speeds seem good ( Same is PIA which I have that expires in 2 days).. I'm in 2 Minds if I should cancel Nord and go back to PIA which I have had for 4 years without any issues.

  • My cashback for nordvpn is pending, will I actually have to wait to around early sep for it or is there a chance it'll be sooner?

    • Yes it'll be around early September.

The wait is due to ensuring that NordVPN's cancellation period has passed (so you don't cancel and try to claim cashback), and also giving them some time to approve/reject cashback for your transactions (they don't approve/reject transactions as they come in - they would do this in bulk, which could be done say once at the end of each month or so).

      • hi - my shopping history appears in clicked but not pending ? do i need to log a ticket for this now ?

        • If it has been more than 48 hours since purchase, then just submit a ticket here and the team will look into it for you.

  • +1

Good on you Shopback for competing. In the past I have used Cashrewards for AU purchased and TopCashback for foriegn purchases (esp in US dollars). I will being switching to you (at least for local products and services).

  • The NORDVPN SmartDNS option is not working with my Samsung TV and Netflix.
Netflix keeps detecting that am connected using proxy or unblocker.

Did anyone manage to use the SmartDNS option?

  • @gotyourback I bought something on Amazon for $10, confirmed cash back shows as 0.62.

    • Hey umoddbro, sorry just saw your message now. Could you please PM me your account email address so I can check?

  • Has anyone else experienced missing tracking for their NordVPN purchase? Notified Shopback after 2 days but was wondering if anyone else had this problem.

    • i got the same issue, used shopback mobile app though..

  • Windscribe is better. Pay once. Free for life.
