    • Thanks. I was trying to get that in.. it's a little difficult on the phone :-)

    • NOTE: valid 7 days after premiere… WTF Transformers IMAX Fail!

      • hmmm TF3 is filmed using fusion camera but not in imax ratio i think.

Everybody is on the 3d bandwagon… boo.

the extra 9 mins in TF2 was definitely impressive… yes the rest of the movie sucked.

      • Wait does that mean that you can only use it after 7 days of the premier or within 7 days of the premier?

        • +2

after..which is why it's so cheap
That's when you can also start using the No Free Tix passes as well.
If you wanna watch a movie as soon as it comes out, Move along nothing to see here.

But if you can wait then that's bargain price for IMAX

        • +3

Oh well that's perfect then :)
I don't mind waiting to save craploads of money lol :)

    • I sure hope there isn't a booking fee! That would suck.

  • +1

:( cant use at IMAX in Melb, only a number of smaller screens. still a good deal tho

  • Do we have to book right now or can we book it later on?

    • AFAIK 10/6/11 - 10/9/11

      anytime between that

      • Thank you

        • There is a timer count down, you got 15 hours left to buy. The vouchers are valid for 3 months from 10/6/11 - 10/9/11

  • Sweet, this is like crazy free money if you plan to watch an IMAX movie with a lot of friends. Thanks OP!

  • i just paid. So i'm assuming they will email me the tickets to print out? and i just take it to IMAX? during the 10/6/11 - 10/9/11

  • Nice deal, though it's funny how they're using the cheap crappy godaddy standard SSL certificate, surely they have the funds to get a better a SSL certificate…

    • +7

Better SSL's don't do much more.

      • Haha true, but it does give them a bit of extra credibility, instead of it feeling like it's run by some guy in his basement.

  • No cinemeas in Vic Metro West :(

  • Fail - Moonlight Cinemas…they don't start till Summer…which won't be in September!!!

  • Thanks mate. Bought 4.

  • -1

Can anyone confirm that this can be used in Dendy Melbourne ?

  • -4

IMAX etc with 12 months validity available here at discount price:
    http://greatseats.com.au/bluetix/tourevent/108/2389/4946/cin…
you can check which cinemas tickets can be used.

SPECIAL OFFER: $9.55 MOVIE TICKETS. DON'T MISS OUT.

    • +4

      Guys beware. it says:
"In the case of Imax, a standard adult ticket refers to an adult ticket for a film of less than 60 minutes duration (ie documentaries), films that are longer than 60 minutes would be subject to a surcharge (ie feature films)"

  • Bookings to be made through the Spreets sites and all fields MUST be filled in correctly to get tickets??

all fields must be filled? so what we need to filled?
and it seems all booking must be made online.

  • Can it be used in VIC cinemas?

  • Anyone know the surcharge for 3D movies?

    • +3

The vouchers can be used for traditional IMAX films (generally 1 hr duration) any day & any time. They can also be used at Full length features (such as "Pirates 4", Cars 2", "Transformers 3", "Harry Potter 7.2). The best part is that they can be seen at no additional cost (whether 2D or 3D) after the 1st 7 days of release … ie: day 8 & beyond. Hope this clarifies.

        • +1

that's not over 70 locations and melbourne places are crap.
          plus the website isn't working!

not a great deal for mel.

  • Buy up to 20 vouchers for yourself (and an unlimited amount as presents for friends)?

so if the voucher have our name on it? if have my name, can my friend use it?

  • -8

I actually have no idea where the bargain is here. For starters a lot of the cinemas that this can be used at offer tickets for $10 or under anyway so its only a bit cheaper. Secondly, just wait until the other places run a deal for $7.

Ok so cheaper but not a bargain

    • +1

      jug head? a good name.

      • your point?

jughead was taken. I like it

    • Here in WA, Hoyts / Event Cinemas tickets are $18 for standard non-3D or IMAX. Please tell me where you can get $10 ?

      • -1

Club Dendy Prices Monday - Friday before 5pm All other times
        Club Dendy Adult $9.00 $10.00

        Hawthorne Cineplex Cinema
        Weekends and evenings.* Adults $8.50

I see that this deal is sold out. Sucked in is all I can say. I'd rather pay $7 for a cinema which shows a wider range of movies and a wider range of times and then go to these smaller cinemas for indie movies - but not the ones that are more than $10 - I find other cinemas that charge less than $8 every day anyway. Like I said - its cheaper but this is not a bargain at all.

  • +1

    LOL kino cinemas in melbourne???
    never even heard of them

    • +1

The Kino is very well known for arthouse/foreign films, film festivals, etc and has been around for years in Collins St. ie, not for any films with a number after them, tie-ins with Happy Meal toys or with plots written on napkins ;-) Similar class to the Nova in Carlton and the Como in Sth Yarra.

  • So is IMAX Sydney included?

    • Oh, it is.

  • 4thousand bought? no thanx, and spreets customers are not treated as equal as normal customers, also try to make a booking with 4k people. it will be full packed everyday.

  • So how do these work exactly?
Do they send you the Australian Movie Voucher or is this done all online?

    • Hi Trance, once you buy the vouchers you will be given a link where you enter all the details and AMV themselves will post the tickets to you.

      • Do they post tickets or vouchers?
Cause it would be handy to have a few vouchers but I don't know what film I will be seeing yet.

        • You will receive an email from us with the vouchers and instructions on how to redeem.

        • when will you send the vouchers. can you give the time?

  • +1

closest one to me is dandenonf lunar drive in, and there normal prices there are only $30 for 4 people. so this is not much of a deal for that one.

  • 6540 bought so far! I doubt if there's any chance to make a booking at IMAX Sydney :(

    • its nationwide.. not everyone is going to IMAX Sydney.. plus its over a 3month period with many sessions during a day. I'm sure there won't be any problems.

  • -1

Airnicole, that's why ppl never vouchers from spreets, many issues with honouring them.

  • Sold out

  • It's good they sold out so I don't have to worry about booking.

By the way, other IMAX I have been to have 360 dome shape screen, how come the one at Darling Harbour is only a curved screen? Or was it just that particular theater has a small screen?

    • small screen? at 7-8 stories tall, imax sydney is the biggest cinema screen in the world mate. the other one you're talking is a variation of the imax brand and called imax dome or omnimax - used mainly for specially recorded docos rather than full length feature films.

    • ccrap is right. The Sydney IMAX theatre is the LARGEST cinema screen anywhere in the world. Not sure why you would think its small =/

  • +2

Glad I didn't buy any. Considering they have to mail the vouchers out.

    • I just go to the IMAX at dreamworld for free. No value in buying these at all. well done for not doing so

      • Considering Dreamworld got rid of the IMAX in late 2010 thats odd :P

        • lol

        • +1

Nah jordanm, you misread. He said he goes to IMAX in his dreamworld - of course it's free there :p

  • Did anybody receieve their vouchers??

    • i have not recieved my vouchers. nor did i get a link, enter "all details"

      • Same here. Hope the spreets rep comes back, what's the hold up?

edit: just got this from twitter

        http://twitter.com/#!/spreets/status/78985621078687744

@kade_m Hey you will be receiving an email with your voucher and instructions on how to redeem. So keep an eye on your inbox. Ta.

  • +1

Where are my vouchers? It's been 24 hours after I paid and I get nothing. Is this a joke?

    • Hey guys, we will be sending an email out with vouchers and instructions on how to redeem. Thanks for your patience.

      • I just got this, but there are no links in thsi email. or a How I redeem my voucher section ?????
        "Hi There,

This is a quick note about the vouchers you purchased for the
$8 Movie Tickets deal (for The IMAX, Palace, Dendy, Chauvel, The Ritz and more Cinemas.)

PLEASE NOTE: the Spreets voucher is not the voucher you take to the cinema but it includes the instructions on how you get the cinema tickets posted to your mailing address.

Please look at the "How do I redeem my voucher?" section of the email to ensure your tickets are delivered to you.

        Thanks & enjoy!

        The Spreets Team"

        • So where is my VOUCHER?
If all IMAX sessions sell out because of your stuff up, am gonna bee seeking a fll refund.

I keep refreshing the Vouchers section in the Spreets site and there is nothing there either.

Honestly how hard is it to explain everything in advance and plan ahead before sending emails without a link ????

        • Hey vouchers being processed in batches. You should receive yours shortly.

        • Spreetssupport, can you please answer this:
Can you explain if I will be sent Austrlian Movie Vouchers in mail once I redeem the spreets vouchers.
or will I have to pre-select the movies / cinema / time I want and then I get sent the actual tickets in the mail?

  • Can anybody share the "instructions on how you get the cinema tickets posted to your mailing address".

I really don't want to spend my whole long weekend pinned to my computer screen waiting for these instructions. I just simply need to establish if you have to rush and redeem or it is a straight forward process where timing doesn't make of a difference.

    • I'm in your exact same position. Just check back tomorrow, what's the rush? Cinemas are barely half full once the premiere week is over, 3 sessions a day, 7 days a week, you'll be fine.

Although, it would be significantly more convenient if we didn't have to book the exact date and time.

      • mainly I want to see Harry Potter, Transformers 3 and Pirates 4 all in imax. I bought 6 tickets to see these.

  • I m still waiting for my vouchers, do I have to wait til tuesday to get them?

    • God Knows.
Its stupid that they claim you can use your voucher from today when we all know that you still have to redeem it and wait for it to arrive in the post.
and there is always the risk of the post office stuffing it up.

what is annoying me is that I don't know what will the process be? If they made the process clear I don't mind waiting. but now am waiting just to know the process.

I even emailed support and they wouldn't answer my question about the process and they just ask me to wait for the afternoon.

Guess what there is nothing in my inbox and I can't watch Pirates over the long weekend as per my original plan.

  • Slightly strange process. Just got an email saying that my vouchers have arrived 17 minutes ago. I clicked the link in the pdf to claim my vouchers and after a quick detail filling….

"Great news! Now that we've confirmed your address we can send you your vouchers. We aim to send all vouchers within five working days, thanks again for your purchase!"

Ah I see what the rush was all about now. Sorry bashar, it looks like you probably won't be seeing it over the long weekend given that you live in the laid back land of OZ.

What I'm worried about is the unique code and pin number, why give it to us unless we're required to do something with them later? This could turn out to be an extremely interesting process indeed lol. But it's all worth it if it saves you $120 eh? You just have to have patience.

    • we will wait and see. It would have been better if they made the process clear from the start.
so now we are loosing 1 week at least of the 3 months. lets hope imax will be still showing pirates by the time the vouchers arrive.

  • i keep getting this error message when entering my home address for delivery
"Your address appears to be invalid, please double-check all fields"

And I have already tried many times…

    • you have to fill your address in 2 lines

      • I used my name in the first and my street address in the 2nd ad it worked fine for me.

        • thanks guys
          it works now
what an annoying validation to have both address lines as mandatory fields

  • anyone got tickets yet?

    • I didn't get mine yet :-(

  • Nope, unfortunately I'm still waiting for mine.

  • anyone received the ticket??

  • +2

Finally Spreets replied to my email.
    "Hi Spreeter,

Due to the massive response we've had for this deal (Over 10,000 tickets sold!) Some of the tickets are still being processed and mailed out. All I can ask of you at the moment is to sit tight, as it shouldn't be to much longer! :)

    Sorry for the inconvenience!

    Kind Regards
    Team Spreets"

    • thanks dude.. but still spreets can just let us use the e-voucher instead!

  • Hi Guys, what is the process for redeeming these tickets. Do they send movie tickets or do we need to again enter some details in AMV site before going to movie. thanks

    • I assume that they send you a AMV voucher that yoy can exchange for a movie ticket at the counter of your cinema.
However I asked spreets this question twice and never got a clear answer.

  • Anyone got the tickets yet? Or does any have any information on how to book a movie session session for a perticular cinema?

    • What bashar said, however we won't know for sure until someone gets their tickets. It's been almost 14 days and still nothing, so much for 5 working days lol.

I'm definitely not buying their new movie ticket deal (2xTickets for $18).

  • I can't believe it takes so long to get the vouchers. Please send out the vouchers quicker. Don't wait until 2 months later!

  • Neg this deal because I haven't received the ticket 2 weeks after the deal get activated, and it is expired on 10 Sep!

  • i have not got my tickets too. is this a big scam?

  • Spreets has failed!!!
