Just saw the "Go Gold for $1 for a Month" offer on the Xbox 360 dashboard. Adds onto existing subscription so worth it. :)

EDIT #1: For those with Silver XBL accounts there is an offer of $2 for two months so stack it up onto your primary gold account using the two controller trick. :)

EDIT #2: Some people are unable to see the deal in the xbox 360 dash. It should be in the spotlight section if you are lucky but it seems to have run out. I'll set this deal as expired now as off 9.42pm 9/6/11. Sorry to people who have missed out on it. :(

      How to do the 2 controller trick:

      On Controller 1 – Sign in to a spare Silver Account. Go into the deal on the dashboard.

      On Controller 2 – Sign in to your account.

      On Controller 1 – Sign out the Silver Account, whilst still being on the "Yes I want to buy Gold" screen.

      On Controller 2 – Confirm the purchase and VOILA! 2 Months for $2!!!

    Just a question, because I have the xbox live family pack.
    Am I able to add months on with these deals?
    For example the two controller trick, would it add two months on to all four friends I have on the family pack?

      All accounts should have access to it so it would add +1 month with the account you redeem the offer with. If for all 4 you will have to sign into each account individually to redeem.

    Can you use paypal to buy XBL subscriptions yet? I know paypal was a recent addition to the Dash but haven't really looked into it yet.
    I've use game cards up until now for XBL subs as it's heaps cheaper but I'm sure that MS have credit Card details on file still somewhere and now that you can use paypal for content I'm thinking of removing the card from my account, just in case MS slip up and we end up with another Sony debacle.

      Tried cancel and re-add paypal trick like the one on the xbox forum's rep said, didn't work.

      I am very reluctant to put in my cc because xbox will auto-renew it at the end of the month.

        Paypal doesn't work. Found I had to remove the paypal account and have only a registered CC to be able to get the previous deal 2 for $2

      when i first saw this deal a few weeks back or whatever and called to cancel auto renew i asked if paypal auto renews and the guy said yes

        Doesn't appear there for me. Tried it as a silver account, and only have the 2 for $2 option, and the unlock a free month foxtel offer.

          Hmm i'd hate to think that the offer is gone already but if it is than you can still take advantage of the silver xbl offer using the two controller method from above.

          If someone else can confirm whether the offer has finished or not from the dashboard for the gold xbl account then I'll edited the post as necessary.

          Tried the 2 controller method on the 2 for $2 and the error I get is "Can't retrieve information from Xbox Live. Please try again later. Status code 80190126"

      i tried when i first saw this deal and never saw the offer, tried again after seeing this and still dont see the offer.

      i tried on both a US and AUS silver account and the only deal that shows up is the 2 months for $2 which ive already used on my main account using the controller trick.
