  • is it good for typing?

    • Generally, no. I've heard the Romer-G switches aren't the most "typist friendly" and Logitech's "gaming" keycaps aren't typing focused either, but I'm not sure they're used on this keyboard (I've seen them on the G410, the G413 looks like more conventional keycaps).

Still… for $69 can you go wrong? I love my Filco Majestouch 2 with Cherry MX Blues for work and my Corsair K70 with Cherry MX Reds for gaming, but they're both $200+ keyboards and only a mechanical keyboard enthusiast could probably tell the difference between Blues and Reds or even Romer-G.

I say either go try one out in store, or just buy it; because at $69, it's a bargain.

wow…blues for work!!! Your colleagues must be very tolerant to keyboard click sounds! I could never pull it off at my work.

        • I couldn't even pull them off at home…

        • +2

I work from home, so no complaints! Blues are noisy, but they feel so good!

        • I use blues at work it's fine

@Godric: I sit on the other side of the office from you and it's really not fine.

@Godric: Reminder: You and umadbrahhhh have a meeting with HR at 5:00pm today to discuss your work performance with the company.

      • thanks :)

        "MX Blues for work"
        You monster

    • I have the G512 which is basically a newer version of the G413, and I love it! I do have the blue switches though, which feel good, but can be a tad noisy, especially if you use it in a work environment.

    • I use mine for typing (no gaming) and reckon it’s good, better than normal membrane keyboards. Maybe i’ve not used enough mechanicals to know better.

    • Save up and get a keyboard with Cherry MX Brown switches.

      • Alternative brand brown switches can be had for like 30 bucks. Are Cherry that much better?

Not much of a fan of rip off copies. Never typed on one though.

Price match JB and use $15 coupon

  • Is this one clicky or linear?

  • Decent deal but the Silver is $99 normal price from JB. Not sure why the Carbon is so much more

    • Maybe the silver one is ugly and this one is cool

    • the silver the backlights reflect off the surface / top of the keyboard, with the carbon it doesn’t, so depends how bright you want your keyboard.

What if I told you MSY has the black one for $99 every day.

$69 is def a deal though!

      • Amazon price matched.

  • I bought this for 100$ a few weeks ago.
    Really good keyboard.
Replacement keys are hard to come by apparently.

Types well and not so loud.

  • Click the product link and you get a message "Hello Ozbargainer"… They know we click through from OzBargain now?

    • HN have done for a couple years now

  • How does it compare to Roccat Suora? Looking for an upgrade.

These have a much nicer backlight on the keycaps, much better than any cherries. The light is very even.

For the typing feel, they are very responsive, more actuation force, they are actually a pretty good overall keyboard, not as smooth as a mx brown switch.

They have a good responsive feel to them, pretty good for gaming if you game anymore. I would prefer these over any cherry keys for gaming.

It also looks very clean, goes will with the new legendary mx518.

  • i dont care! i just get one, ordered and waiting for the msg to pick it up. Cant wait!!

    • Not bad….My first Mechanical keyboard. lol

took it and enjoying it a bit~

  • Hey guys,

I've had a CM storm quickfire tk with cherry mx blue switches for a while now and it's too loud/clicky for my liking.

Does anybody know if this would be better? It's mostly just for gaming.

    Cheers!

    • Same one I have and I'm considering this one. Surely can't be as loud as the cherry MX blue switches.

      • Not sure anything could be as loud as those switches! lol.

Might see if i can drop by a HN and test one out.

    • Personally I loved my mech KB with Blue switches! Couldn't find another switch that was as satisfying to type on (typing currently on a replacement keyboard that came with green switches. Close, but not as good IMO).

May I suggest you try installing O-Rings first? Something like these - https://www.amazon.com.au/Cherry-Rubber-Ring-Switch-Dampener…

There's plenty of kinds around, just do some research and get some, for me they completely fixed the noisiness of the blue switches while making the keyboard much more socially friendly.

    • Well, I bought it and I much prefer my CM with blue switches. The G413 just doesn't have the tactile feeling I'm used to with the blue switches. It is much more quiet though. Might take some adjusting to for me.

  • I think I got the last one on the north side of Brisbane.

    • you have bit of luck(typing from one of these keyboards, hahaha).

  • What do people recommend for stupid use?(music) I wouldn't say much typing as I have an Ultrabook.

    • Whole different kind of keyboard makes music.

    Thanks OP.
