  The problem with a lot of these LCC flights out of PER is the crap departure and/or arrival times - late night or very early morning. Garuda is great in that it leaves at 7:30am and gets in before lunchtime meaning you have the afternoon up there. Coming back, they leave in the late evening, so you arrive back about 11pm, meaning that you can get a full day's work in the next day. They also use an A330, which is much nicer to fly on that a A320 or B737. I think Malindo also have a morning departure (8:30). We are going up to Bali in October on Garuda for about $450 return, although I've got these flights for around $400 recently. Jetstar have a terrible reputation on this route for delays and cancellations.

    Those LCC flight times suit me, I'm 4 hours out of Perth so it allows me to drive in during the morning and take the 4:40 pm flight to Bali. Same on return early flight out of Bali then drive and home late arvo.it saves me a night of accommodation at both ends.

  Don't know if I'm being alarmist, but Malindo themselves won't allow you to book a flight from Adelaide to Bali for any date past October. Considering how I got burnt when AirAsia stopped flying from Adelaide abruptly, I would be careful.

    Jetstar added another daily flight when they started to push them out. So now 3 daily flights which is just overkill.

    Then when Malindo pulls out, Jetstar goes back to 1 Daily and raises airfares.
