Not bad. Guess I'm offering to fetch lunch for my colleagues tomorrow. #goodbloke

    • That's a 'bad motivator' :P

    EAT TO GET HER

    What did she do? 😥

    • I'd like to eat her too 😘😘

      • Only if the establishment is clean. Hygiene is paramount.

I have since realised that the prices on the app are higher than the store prices (at least in my area).
So, I don't understand why anyone would pay more to order via app vs over the counter.

    • I don't understand why anyone would pay more to order via app vs over the counter.

The convenience of being able to walk into the store and just pick it up and leave instead of having to order and wait in store for it to be made. Basically a time saver if you have limited time.

Hmm ive never noticed that. Not once. I often notice it on menulog and pick up the phone instead

Re hey you, I find it really helps finding which place is most affordable as you can compare many different places without walking for 3 hours

  • Does the $20 have to be in one spend? Would be one expensive coffee order!

    • yeah wondering about that too!

    • +1

      Yeah it does.

'The offer is valid on any single purchase over $20 on the Hey You app during the promotional period'

      • Good for lunches

Anyone else getting 'issue with payment' message, when ordering using accrued credit (from referrals etc) ?
I have tried adding different Mastercards I own. Though I shouldn't really need to add payment method when just using accrued bonus credits .

    • I wonder if they've invalidated all the credit accumulated before a certain date? Might be worth contacting them. Or try the website if you haven't already. Or PayPal (but cancel ASAP).

      • Thanks. I tried paypal . Same error. It has only been happening for about the last 4 days, so I was thinking maybe others have been getting similar error that just started recently.

        • Yep. They messed up with the HEYKOALA code last week and then invalidated all credit from all account, including all free codes entered and all referral credit accumulated. Warning to others: Use your credit as soon as possible before they have a chance/excuse to remove your credit !!

          • @coprocessor8087: I would like to use my credit, but despite what must be >100 cafes/restaurants within 3km of me there isn't a single one on Hey You

            • @mapax: I used to order in Apps 10 min beforehand in the morning and still need to wait in the queue.

    • yes, same problem. Tried PayPal & credit card, deleting everything and re-adding. Can't do anything with my account anymore. Never used the heykoala voucher, it wasn't working before that.

I called them on Friday and the lady (Jen) on the phone confirmed it happens to all customers, and she said under the terms and conditions, they can terminate promotional code earlier. And because it is promotion, they have no obligation to honor any unused offer. I hanged up straight away. Wasted enough of my time.

Likely due to having multiple accounts or registering the same mobile number in more than one account

  • This app is became worse value for money when they introduced payment fees. And most cafes have increased their prices on the app, it's cheaper in store. This 50% off but buy in advance now reads like a desperate move to increase their cash flow

heyyou needs to buck up. RITUAL has them in its sights.

    • +2

And liven. Or am I the only one using it?

      • +1

Nah in the in trend one is Ritual….

  • When I add two items to the cart, 2 reminders about the promotion appear in the checkout page. Does that mean that a single item should cost more than $20 in order to be eligible?

    Extract from T&Cs

There are two offers running during the promotional period
Offer 1: Spend over $20, get a $10 voucher (valid on any single purchase between 00:01 08/07/2019 to 23:59 21/07/2019)
Offer 2: Spend over $10, get a $5 voucher (valid on any single purchase between between 00:01 15/07/2019 to 23:59 21/07/2019 excluding NSW)

Purchases can be made anytime during the promotional period (inc. weekends)

Cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotions.

So don't try to use existing credit to trigger this deal.

  • +1

Did anyone get their credit as part of this deal. I didn't, Hey you suck!!!

    • I got an email today titled "<name> we've got a gift for you inside" which had a nice credit code. I'm wondering if it was related to this promo…

    • +2

When I opened the app, I got a notification saying, I have received a voucher but since I have unsubscribed to the emails from Hey You, I need to contact [email protected] to receive it.

      • I sent the email and got it in a few minutes. A very quick response!

    • I got some but not all. I contacted them and they are misquoting their T&Cs (in my view) to defend not paying some of it. Misleading. Next.

      • What was their claim?

        • The offer was a $10 voucher for 'every $20 spent'. This reads to me as a $60 order gets $30 credit. They deny this based on their T & C stating that the offer is valid on 'any single purchase over $20 or up to x5 single $20+ purchases' … as if that somehow means one credit per order.

  • I have not received the vouchers yet. Have chased them up and hopefully they come back with the vouchers soon.

  • +1

This expires today but I never got any emails from them.

  • I never got the vouchers either. I keep waiting/checking. Let's see.
