    • Seriously?! I was looking at this thread because of changing bank too. Wanted to see if anyone had any luck changing updating payment info without vpn.

    • Damn that sucks, was about to try this stuff tomorrow for the first time. May as well try my luck and see if it works

    • Which country? I just signed up on Argentina yesterday and I could skip the phone number part.

      • Turkey

        • Might be why then. Turkey kept giving me the "there was a problem with your payment method" issue, but I switched to Argentina and it worked flawlessly.

Ends up being like an extra 60 cents more a month compared to Turkey, but still way cheaper than a normal sub.

    • Just an update, I updated my card details with netflix argentina without vpn and just under account and it seems it worked without any issue. Didn’t ask my number either just a credit check of ARS10 on my card so seem like everything works.

  • Has anyone tried this recently? I used VPN to go to Turkey and verified my IP as well but it takes me to Netflix Netherlands, the prices are high obviously. Any one with same issue?

    • and when I go to Argentina on VPN, Netflix takes me to Brazi… what am I missing, please help!

      • +1

I was having a similar issue, but used Windscribe VPN and it all worked.

        • Thanks. I did it just than via PureVPN which worked and shows me prices in Turkish Lira now.

but it gives me an error ""there appears to be a problem with the payment method you are trying to use"

Can't get Australian trial version anymore as well..

          • +1

@ozbargainerlife1: Yeah I always got the payment method issue for Turkey, but Argentina worked. Saw your reply on my other comment so glad it all worked out for you in the end :)

  • Just tried this now with my Ubank card. Says there's a problem with the payment method, same goes for CBA.

Using PureVPN to connect to Turkey, guess it's full price Netflix for me

    • +1

Argentina seemed to work! Using Windscribe VPN on Android

      • +1

        this worked thanks!

        Hi guys,
        I need your help.

I have previously joined Netflix on an Aussie account/debit card and after one month let it expire, then signed up to a VPN and was able to switch over to Argentina netflix. It has been going great for a few months and I've had cheap prices.

However overnight, I forgot that I didn't have the required money in that account and Netflix has unsuccessfully tried to charge that card.

I have just now tried using 3 different paid VPNs to get into Argentina Netflix to 'update' my CC details to pay, but it won't let me.
Furthermore, I have also tried disabling the VPN and just trying to log in 'via' Australia and just pay the exorbitant Aussie fees, but I can't do that either… what the heck do I do? at a loss.

        thank you,

        • Damn that's crazy, what happens when you try to update it via the usual Australian site? Did you clear data/cookies and whatnot before trying it?

          • @mangobango: No, I can't even pay with Aussie site now. Yes, deleted all internet history. Tried on Android and Mac

            • @dddddog: try open a page www.netflix.com/clearcookies
              That's what Netflix support suggested

              • @alexshel: Ok, fixed

The answer is - when I was trying earlier in the day, with any of the VPN enabled or not, there were only 2 options available - update payment method or 'later'.

However later Inthe evening, just around 22 hours after the unsuccessful payment, I was given a third option - retry payment.. that worked?!
                Super odd

  • +1

Is it just me or when I try accessing Netflix with Argentinian or Turkish IP, when I go to the plans it shows USD instead of the local currency? Using PureVPN.

    • That means VPN didn't work. Try windscribe vpn

  • Tried the Turkey subscription with 28 degrees card on 2 different VPNs but getting the same error (Windows 10 PC and Netflix app on Android)

There appears to be a problem with the payment method you are trying to use.

    • Try debit cards

    • +2

i Tried with windscribe VPN on pc and android Argentinian and Turkish netflix with ing, ubank, cba, anz and coles mastercard. non of them worked

      • I tried Windscribe VPN on Turkish IP with my 28 degrees, westpac debit, CBA and Amex but all of them gave me error

Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again later.

  • With enough feedback, we should be able to see some patterns… PureVPN isn't pure. And CBA is trouble.

  • +2

    Your argentina prices are outdated.

    199, 319 and 449 showing for me.

Turkey kept showing a price in euros for me which was expensive. I heard Colombia was cheap but it's not competitive for ultra.

Argentina it is then for around $11.

My 28 degrees was already registered on my account and it accepted and charged me without issue. I clicked continue without entering a phone number when asked.

  • -2

Let’s be honest guys.! It’s too hard to start new account with this methods.
When everyone needs now ,as social distance going to be here for quite long time.! I would highly appreciate if anyone help to explain proper method without any complication.!

Also please don’t say free trail it’s been few months it’s stopped.

    • might work if you pay for the first month in Australia with an appropriate credit card, then change

      • I think when you start an Australian plan it would renew with Australian rates only. You have to cancel the Australian plan to start this procedure and then run into the same issue again.

I believe Netflix may have caught up with this and implemented something that is preventing us taking out a subscription which is non-Australian but I might be wrong.

I have tried with multiple VPNs and 5,6 bankcards but all of them are failing.

        • Yes you have to cancel it and wait for it to expire. but then you use the vpn to change regions when you reactivate and you can change the billing currency.

I started with a US account before australia got netflix, then moved it to aussie billing through this method which still works

  • Hi All.

Just tried windscribe vpn with google chrome and used argentina. After putting in my credit card it comes up wanting to verify mobile number.

Anyone know how to get around this?

    Thanks,
    K.

    Deal still works.

Had some troubles getting through with NordVPN on Chrome in Incognito, kept getting directed to Netflix Australia with plans in AUD.

Same issue with WindScribe. Cleared cookies, reconnected the VPN to Argentina, opened a normal tab (not Incognito) and went to Netflix.

Worked instantly - all prices were in ARS.

Had trouble getting through payment with a CBA debit card, kept saying "Your payment could not be processed right now, try again later." Even with travel notification to CBA.

Tried again using a Macquarie Bank debit card and it went through with no issue. Skipped the mobile number step and voila!

$7.80 charged instantly for a Standard membership (319 ARS) - what a bargain!

Prices are also different to the OP.

Prices as of 13/4/2020 for Argentina:

    Basic: 199 ARS / ~$4.85 AUD
    Standard: 319 ARS / ~$7.80 AUD
    Ultra: 449 ARS / ~$10.95 AUD

    • Thank you for the price update :)

I actually did mine a couple of weeks ago, 319 ARS translated to $8.22.

Looks like our dollar is strengthening a bit so this deal is getting better!

I signed up last night, CBA Debit MasterCard and Go MasterCard didn't work, when you tried to enter the details suddenly the price would change to American and you would be asked for a Biller Zip Code. Used Up Bank Debit MasterCard without issue though.

  • Looks like my current Turkey based account is toast as I cant update my CC

Windscribe looks like Argentina is only for premium accounts?
    NordVPN doesnt work
    Getflix VPN doesnt work

anyone got a working current option?

managed to get Argentina via 24 hour windscribe trial
but neither bankwest, citibank plat or ubank would work for payment. All via seperate browser so shouldnt have been cookie related
    :/

    • I used NordVPN 2 days ago to sign up via Argentina, you just have to change the server you connect to if the 1st one doesn't work.

      • thanks
what payment option did you use?

I've tried over half the servers under nordvpn argentina, and via private chrome browser, netflix always show .com and $usd pricing under the 'what does it cost' info, so its cleatly redirecting to the US site regardles.. IPLeak.net definitely shows argentina each time also

        • even windscripe vpn on android, new netflix install.. no luck with Citbank Plat, Bankwest Plat, Ubank debit or amex
          :/

          • +1

@SBOB: From memory I think I used incognito mode on Firefox as Chrome Incognito mode still showed US pricing. No idea why. I used my Up Bank Debit Mastercard, as CBA Debit Mastercard and Go Mastercard wouldn't work.

            • @The architect: Thanks
Tried both. pretty sure it's a payment source issue so clearly something flagged with my Bankwest plat as that's worked before.

New online account like up just to save 50 bucks a year (I split an account with a friend).. :/

    • +1

I actually used Ubank for Argentina couple of weeks ago, using Windscribe too.

Although I paid the $2 for Windscribe to add Argentina to my account so not sure if that makes a difference at all?

Also, has your account expired yet or have you still got some days left on it?

EDIT: Here's my comment a bit earlier on int the thread that explains my method a bit.

      • was attempting a new account. no free trial anymore so no 'expiry'

Might wait for my current turkey account to fully die and try re-enabling that from argentina. Its been a few days past payment but can still use after cancelling the 'update your payment' popup.

      • +1

ended up getting it working with an old account that had expired.
Current account was on hold but didnt seem to want to accept changing payment type

Same VPN (windscribe, free trial), same card (Bankwest) but old expired account was able to login, select an Argentina plan and pay

  • anyone managed to successfully subscribe to either Turkey or Argentina? I have been trying to use Windscribe and HolaVPN in the last couple days and always comes up with mobile phone verification after putting in credit card details. Anyone has a way to get around it and happy to share? thanks!

    • +1

You can just click "continue" when you get to the mobile phone part and it will skip :)

      • there's two different phone number paths
One requires clarification/confirmation of 2FA code that is SMS'd to you
The other is just a 'enter your phone number for a account restore option'

you can cancel the second, but the first is a bit of a road block

      • I just tried again just then using Windscribe to Turkey and unfortunately I don't have an option to click continue.

The page is showing "Let's confirm your account. To start your membership, we'll send you a text message with a one-time code to confirm your account." and field to type in Turkey's mobile and button TEXT ME :(

        • Damn that sucks, I heard issues with Turkey, but I think Argentina is supposed to be okay (it's the one I did).

          Same issue with Argentina?

        • Try Argentina
as above, worked for me (finally) with an expired account

          • @SBOB: are you guys using Windscribe Premium trial to get to Netflix Argentina?

I think i tried it yesterday and it was showing the same thing using HolaVPN!

            • @BabaBlackSheep: I did a new account, and free trial message to their chat bot

              • @SBOB: Finally works for Argentina using HolaVPN! and cleared cache, restart PC and using different email address and Macq Bank card.

Thanks mangobango and SBOB for pointing to right direction! :)

  • Isn’t this against terms of service?

  • +2

I was just able to change my Netflix over to Argentina, And wWorks out to be $10.29AUD (Currently) for the 4K plan.
Just waited for my plan to expire, gave it a few days and then followed what everyone recommended and worked first time.
Get Hola VPN, sign in and connect to Argentina, then in an private browser goto netflix Argentina site, log in "Do you want to renew your account"
    bla bla
Got to the point where it wanted a mobile number, however it already knew my number as I was already signed up,.. just clicked continue. it pop'ed back up again asking for my mobile number, just clicked continue again and it worked the 2nd time.
    and that was kinda it.

  • Just worked for me via Argentina, Hola VPN and Citibank card.
Getflix on their Turkey VPN was initially showing Turkish prices when I sussed it a few weeks back, but was waiting for my account to expire. Tried today and would only show USD. Hola VPN was painless though.

  • Great deal - Argentinian Netflix worked for me using an expired Netflix account, a free trial of SaferVPN and an AMEX card (used AMEX as I couldn't get past the Argentinian tel# SMS with a Citibank c/c), had to also clear cache and browser history, use Incognito mode. Big thumbs up to all with the above hints.

Did anyone have success with 28 degrees card with the Turkey deal?
My revolut card didn't work either.

  • +1

I have just opened a Macquarie Bank account for this. Tried to register with Netflix Turkey with Windscribe but it won't accept my card. Tried HolaVPN to register with Netflix Argentina it didn't work as well. I have tried NAB Debit, CBA Debit and Macquarie Debit Card without any success…How did anyone get it to work with Macquarie? I keep getting "There appears to be a problem with the payment method you are trying to use." message.

    • Same story with me

    • @selah I think It’s hit and miss thing. I have successfully singed through Argentina using Macquarie Bank account and windscribe VPN.

  • The price is slightly increase for both Argentina (ARS449) and Turkey (TL41).
Just change to Argentina. Turkey needs mobile phone confirmation, which must be a turkey number.

I am using HOLA VPN. very easy to set up, its free and no need credit card details.

  • I cannot seem to use any credit cards as each time I try to proceed with a purchase I get something went wrong error. Any suggestions to make this deal work or has Netflix closed all the loop holes.

  • I tried anz card with hola VPN for Argentina it asked for mobile no.
I've used card amex, st George, Westpac, hsbc, ing nothing works all stuck at payment method issues

  • +1

Thanks all, your advice worked like a charm!

I created a new Windscribe account (super easy, no email required). Asked the chat bot to upgrade it for a free trial. Flew to Argentina (I already had Windscribe VPN installed). Logged into my Netflix account with membership cancelled (which I recently got the first month refunded through their live chat). Signed up to Ultra for ARS449. Confirmed existing 28 Degrees payment details and was done. I did get prompted for a phone number but it wasn’t required. Turned off VPN and opened Netflix app. All working!

  • +2

finally got it worked with ANZ card with Argentina, still asked me mobile no. I bought SMS service from goget SMS $1.94. NetFlix $10.44.

    • Hi, I tried using goget SMS and topped up money with Argentina Netflix but do not reduce any SMS despite pressing the code button few times. Any idea?

      • +1

You click on get sms, you get mobile no, you put in netflix the mobile no after payment page.
And the code will come on same place next to no in goget sms. Copy that to Netflix.

        Voila

        • Let me know mate, will help you just Message me.

          • @Ebisu: How to you manage to "finally" get it to work? I'm asking because I have the same issue with my cards.

            • @Anonymous18: Mate none of my card work. I used my wife ANZ debit card.

I tried to use on my existing Netflix account with australian phone no and the same ANZ card. It won't accept it.

My guess first use VPN and create new Netflix account and if your payment card is accepted and you're stuck at sms stage. You can use goget sms, I paid by my ING.
Worked for me and v2. So hopefully will work for you.

              • @Ebisu: right, seems like its pretty random with which cards it will and won't accept.

My guess is they can somehow determine which country the card is from?

          • @Ebisu: thanks @hurray. i followed the same steps you mentioned above - except when i click on generate code - i dont receive any sms on goget.

will try again and let you know.

        • thanks @hurray - worked after 5 attempts.

    Thanks @hurray

    Windscripe VPN to Argentina
I opened a new account with partners email - never used Netflix before
My Amex wouldn't work, but her Amex would for some reason
    Got asked for mobile code
Lodged $2 into gogetsms - click Argetina on the left - then click Netflix - a mobile number will pop up to use
    Insert that to Netflix
The code gets sent to gogetsms
    copy/paste

    Bobs your Uncle.

Big shoutout to @Hurray for the gogetsms

    • Quick question, do you have to use your vpn to use Netflix every time, or is it just for the registration?

      • +1

        Just for registration.

As you change your location Netflix will give you tv shows based on that countries Netflix options.

        • +1

That is awesome, thanks a lot for the reply mate!

  • has anyone tried paying by gift cards?

    • im looking for a legit website that sells Netflix Argentina gift cards. No luck yet

      • +1

It would easier to use a prepaid travel card. I had one from my last travel (the Australian post version). I paid my Netflix with it and working fine so far

    • hi mate, did you try paying using some gift cards? what was the outcome?

  • Finally got it to work by letting my Australian account expires. I used Windscribe to connect to Netflix Turkey and restarted my membership without any hassle. I used Macquarie Bank Debit Card btw.

    • how many days did you wait after your AU account expired ?

      • +2

I restarted the membership a day after my AU account expired. It's pretty straight forward. No issue with payment nethod and AU mobile number since it's stored in their database.

    • How did you get the text to a Turkish phone number?

      • Netflix has my AU number saved from my AU account so i clicked continue and did not need to verify my mobile number.
