Free - $10 eGift Card When You Sign up @ David Jones Rewards

4140
Edit - Rewards program now live.

I saw this post in the Markdown Addict Facebook group -

I also would like to let you know some information about DJs. When I shopped this morning, the staff told me that they will have the new loyalty program for the next 2 weeks and they will send the $10 egift card to your email if you register your email on the website or you can do this in stores. If you not, you can do this now so you will not miss out the free $10 egift card…

I've confirmed with David Jones online chat the new loyalty program will launch on 15 July 2019. I also confirmed this in-store about 30 minutes ago when I visited to enquire and sign up.

I was advised that after you've signed up, you will get a $10 egift card sent to you when the loyalty program launches. The egift card will need to be used within 30 days of receipt. If you provide your date of birth when you sign up, you'll get a $10 egift card to use for your birthday each year.

I was further advised that each time you shop and show your membership, you'll go into a draw for a chance to win $5000 each month.

Drats. My birthday is 15 July

    • +19

I think you made a typo. Happy Birthday on 20th July!

      • +7

Yes, you're right. I'm a [insert correct starsign here]

  • if you have birthday coming end of this month, would we get the extra $10 egift card to use?

  • Can we use multiple gift cards per transaction?

    • Don’t see why you can’t, unless it’s different to the regular and promotional gift cards you get

    • +1

You can use 5 giftcards online. Unlimited instore.

    • +2

I used 19 one time in store

      • I used 190 cards x $100 in store to pay for Miele appliances.

        • +3

          Yikes $19,000 of appliances

  • I can’t see the registration slip? All I get is graphic violence of ducklings,

Staff were briefed about this last week; saw a leaflet but quickly put it back when I saw it said staff briefing on it. The program is called David Jones Rewards

    • Fixed.

      • That slip just looks like the one you get when they sign your e-mail up pre David Jones Rewards to get tailored offers to your e-mail address (scored a $45 Glasshouse candle from this as a thank you for buying Glasshouse from David Jones for example). Staff had incentives to get as many sign-ups as possible.

  • +11

  • I already have an account, so created my 2nd account without realising this deal hasn't started yet… Ohh well… will create a 3rd one then

    • +1

I was under the impression that this applies to account's created before the 15th

  • +2

About time they had a rewards program!

  • do we create online account Now or in 6 days???

    • +3

"the new loyalty program will launch on 15 July 2019"

"after you've signed up, you will get a $10 egift card sent to you when the loyalty program launches"

      Looks like sign up now

  • I signed up

  • Hey, thanks OP.
From memory there is a cafe in DJ, would this egift card apply to food/drink purchases made there?
    Thanks.

    • Yes, the e-gift card is valid at the cafe in DJ.

I have used it there before.

    • +6

Hopefully they don't price cafe items the same as their clothes.
One Calvin Klein Coffee - they will be $48.50 please…..

      • +1

ha ha, killer…. And it will probably smell like "The Ocean"………
Surely can get something under on $10. Napkin…….

  • Thanks OP :)

  • Wow.. Free money 💴
    Thanks Op

  • Fyi DJs have changed their returns policy. They only give 30 days now for refunds.

    • +1

      i) not until August 1 and ii) it’s sixty days for purchases made after August 1. For those slippers you bought five years ago that you still have the receipt for and never used and with original tags, you could return them in September and they’d be obliged to accept it.

Real example from when I did my training at David Jones nine years ago

      • Sure? I got an email saying it applied to purchase from 8 July. But yes, the old policy applies still for old purchases.

  • +1

So i just make a dj account? How do i sign up for the rewards programe?

    • +2

Yeah it's not clear whether we were meant to wait before signing up or not.

      • It's hasn't launched yet. You'll get an email on the 15th.

  • after you've signed up, you will get a $10 egift card sent to you when the loyalty program launches

    • -4

AFTER YOU'VE SIGNED UP, YOU WILL GET A $10 EGIFT CARD SENT TO YOU WHEN THE LOYALTY PROGRAM LAUNCHES.
It looks the same when capitalised as when bolded but still retains its lack of specific input from you.

      • I bolded it from op for people who don't read.

  • What's the expiry date of the $10

    • +1

The egift card will need to be used within 30 days of receipt. If y….

  • Dang birthday on the 12th - only $10 for me then :/

    • I think you meant the 22nd

      • +1

;) damn cat hitting keys again

  • +1

How can DJs afford this? I only see a handful of people shopping inside their massive stores at any one time.

    • +2

      Everything they sell is overpriced

    • They're owned by Woolworths South Africa.

    • +1

Probably cheaper than an ad, encourages people to spend on their overpriced items. I probably didn't really need anything from there, but this ten dollars gets me in the door. Once I'm in, I'll probably splurge.

  • Is it an e-gift card or do they send you a physical card?

    • +2

      The former.

  • Thank you

  • Can't seem to find any delete account button in acc management settings (for my existing account). Not too keen on putting in mobile and other info for $10 and not being able to delete afterwards.

  • +2

Now time to try to find a few things <$10 to buy in-store…
    Thanks OP

    • +1

Good luck with finding something. DJs are sooo overpriced and People who shop there have rocks in their head.

  • +1

I’d sign up for this except every time I buy something from David Jones they refuse to give me the product when I go to pick it up because they say the sale was an error and then I have to mess around getting a refund…

  • Thanks OP. Any idea if there's a minimum spend?

  • +3

So…do we wait until the 15th to sign up for the account or do we need to sign up before the 15th for the voucher?

Nothing on the website infers we get a voucher - is this only in-store?

Deal is a little unclear :/

  • +3

You could buy a $10 HDMI cable for $60 at David Jones. They have really great prices.

  • +6

You may sign up now and will receive an email with the $10 voucher. Confirmed with DJ live chat.

    • I sign up but there is no email. Might have to wait until 15 then?

      • Yep, they will send it out when the reward program launches

  • +2

Is there a David Jones Rewards sign up page? All I can see is just David Jones online account sign up. Can anyone advise if they are the same?

    • Live chat rep told me to sign up for a David Jones online account. Apparently that will be linked to the rewards program.

  • +1

What if you already have an account?

  • Anyone received their e-gift card email yet?

    • Nope, and they have like four profiles with the same e-mail address too. I know this because I looked myself up when I used to work there

  • my old account has received $10 reward around 10:30am, my newly signed up one still haven't received any email yet. Hopefully that will too.

    • Is it possible to access the $10 e-gift card any other way apart from the email, such as when logged in on the website?

      • I don't think so, I have logged into my old account, everything still looks the same as before, no changes, no way to find out what your reward is. At least Myer's app you can see your reward gift card etc. I think it is a Work in Progress.

  • No email recieved.

  • Just received an email about the $10 gc in my existing account :

    Welcome to David Jones Rewards!

As a valued David Jones customer, we’re excited to welcome you to our new loyalty program. You’ll gain access to special instore events, and receive exclusive offers, surprises and a birthday gift. Plus, with every purchase, you’ll have the chance to win David Jones gift cards worth $5,000.*

Is the code link to your account when making a purchase or just a code you need to input when you make a purchase doesnt matter who use it?

  • Thanks. Received a $10 voucher today sent by email.

  • Nothing recieved.

  • +1

Received $10 for the old account. I signed up a new account a week ago but there is nothing

  • any recent register received the card yet?

    • I registered the day the deal was posted here and received the voucher by email this afternoon.

  • +1

Speaking with the Live Chat rep, there's no way to access the eGift card if you haven't received the email, i.e. there's no way to access it from your online account or to get the email sent to you any earlier. The only thing we can do is wait.

    • it means if they don't send u one, there is nothing u can do or complaint?

  • Got my $10 eGift card

    • Me too.

  • +3

I received my gift card as I had an existing account. My husband who signed up today haven’t received anything yet. However we confirmed via live chat that he will also be receiving a voucher in the next 24hrs (hopefully), even though he just signed up today. They said it will take some time as they have more than 3million accounts to process!

  • +1

can i use multiple $10 from family member to purchase $30 goods?

    • u can try it when u got the cards…

    • Technically, yes in my opinion. The gift card number looks like the ones that have a three-year expiry date. I reckon you could use it to buy a new gift card to extend the expiry date but YMMV

  • Got one. Thanks OP.

  • Got one today, didn’t do anything but had an existing account

  • nothing for me.. :(

  • Nothing, signed up when this link was posted

  • +1

I received at 3:02PM. Signed up over the weekend. Thanks OP!

  • still nothing

    • me either friend
