now that Woolies jumps on board with their LionKing stuff, just make me wonder can't they come up with environmental friendly options? worst is, these figures aiming at kids, bad for role model to educate kids to be more responsible than we are at this moment, really sad.

    • +4

Woolworths did have environmentally friendly collectables at Christmas - which were made out of recycled cardboard. They were so unpopular that you haven't even noticed them, neither did many customers… so there ya go.

      • +1

I didn't mind them tbh but they were just really hard to construct for children which is a big no no. I did finish them but they do have damage.

  • +1

I'm a big fan of the original coles minis but how is this a bargain

    • +4

No bargain, should be in the fourms indeed.

    • OP just submitted a "Deal".

  • -4

It's a real missed opportunity that Coles didn't make a rare or even harder to find collectible which is the classic Coca Cola bottle. People would go crazy for that and they do have the licensing from the company to so do, just missing out on even more profit.
Yeah yeah I don't care for the people who will say these are shit anyway and they pollute the planet, shut up already I know.

    • People that would ‘go crazy’ for that need to find a better hobby.

  • +11

    Cool! Free landfill for everyone…

    • -8

Ugh another one. Let people enjoy things and get over it.

      • +7

These companies make people feel bad for using plastic straws; yet actively make these "collectables" which will end up in landfill and hurt the planet more. To edit quote Guardians of the Galaxy

        Rocket Raccoon:
Why would you wanna to save the planet!?

        Peter Quill:
'Cause I'm one of the idiots who lives on it!

      • -2

        I agree.
You have the option to opt-out at the checkout or offer yours to person next in queue after you.

  • +21

This is not a bargain. Just plastic crap that will end up as landfill.

    • +3

I also hate that it targets kids. Sure, adults collect them too, but seriously.

      • hysterical 'facebook mums' incoming!!!

      • +1

I had the idea to set them into one of them resin tables you see on fb.

        • +1

Maybe try something tasteful, like lego minifigs

  • I had a pushy mum hassling me to get her the little shop toys with my receipt, as I was completing checkout last time.
Told her "no" and that she was pushy.
    What a moll.

    • Next time take them and sell them on gumtree, the people who want them will pay for them.

    • +6

should have sold it to her for a $5

    • +1

hahahahhaha! i would have laughed in her face. collected the toys for myself and then thrown them in the rubbish in front of her.

    • Actually should have told her to pay for your groceries in exchange, and that you'd be back in a minute once you filled another basket.

  • +11

This is literally rubbish and not a deal, all this does is increase landfill, stop buying this shit.

  • I wonder whether those that queued up and paid $1,000 in the last promotion are going to do it again?

    • That was for golden figures

  • +5

Landfill that will be returned back down under from regular dumping countries
    NOT A BARGAIN

  • +5

Plastic junk that you get for free with your usual supermarket spend is not a bargain. This is for the forums.

  • +4

This is not a deal. Just marketing and promotion. Lot's of things are free but don't count as a deal, like a night in lockup.

  • +2

    $30 spend for 1

I can shop at Costco and get the giant versions cheaper than $30 each and they have the ingredients in them for me to use

  • +4

Get rid of plastic bags, then release this plastic garbage.

  • +3

Agree with others, not a deal, should be in the forums.

  • +1

I would rather a voltron style Curtis Stone flogging pre-mixed oregano mince.

  • +1

this is an ad, not a deal. more plastic shot for the la dfill

  • +3

I am glad that majority of us Aussies still have the consciousness of environmental responsibility. Sad that we don't have stronger measures to protect our living environment though :(

  • +2

SA working to ban single-use plastics and Supermarkets doing this to increase landfill.

  • -1

Going to be a hard decision Woolies Ooshies or Coles mini's . Love Supermarket wars you get good choices LOL .

Aldi need to join with Lego or something next :)

  • +3

Ethically unconscionable - at the same time these people are bleating about how they are doing their best to save the environment/ farmers/ small harmless (but photogenic) children.

    … and certainly no 'Bargain'.

  • +3

I wonder if this will be as popular second time around now that people have had a chance to realise that these "collectables" are just plastic junk destined to end up as clutter and/or landfill.
