      • @ATangk - unless it's sent very soon, at the minimum they'll get a heap of "late delivery" feedback for overshooting the ETA of Monday 22/7.

Let alone the "seller communication" field…

      • It'd be poor form to leave negative feedback after getting $150 off IMO, unless the shipping is significantly delayed. Who wins a competition and then complains about the prize?

        • -1

Time is also money. 1.5 hrs passed before they had an official email response…

          • @ATangk: If time is money, don't enter a timed-release competition?

Yes, eBay stuffed up, but cogs need to turn to make sure: the email was actually a false positive, the mistake is/can be rectified, everyone top-down is on the same page and they don't stuff up the response. That takes an hour at the very least.

            • -1

@Anders: I’m referring to time stressing about what’s happening to my money.

        • Some people were also advised - both in the email, & also from eBay official phone support & virtual chats - to cancel the transaction & seek a refund by merchant chargeback etc. At the minimum, lots were told eBay didn't even know what was happening & would get back to them.

Not really great "seller communication" especially from a heavily advertised, official eBay promo. Understandable why some may choose to rate less than 5* for that.

I bought on Monday at 11am. I expect same day shipping for orders before 12pm.

They weren't despatched on Monday and they weren't despatched yesterday either. If they were I haven't received any notification as such i.e. shipping confirmation of tracking number.

That's too slow in my opinion - no matter the price.

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: The item never had "same day shipping" in the sale's description, so that expectaction is yours and yours alone.

            • @Anders: I said that it was my expectation.

I never mentioned they said otherwise.

          • @[Deactivated]: That's not how it works - you saw the estimated delivery date on the product page.
If it passes that date, then you can say it's too slow.

            • @unco: Only if it says guaranteed… which is rarer and rarer now.

              • -1

@ATangk: Yep which makes it all the more unreasonable to say "I expect same day shipping"

  • +5

I dont get why people rushed to get a refund rather than just waiting, clearly it was an error on their behalf. Not like you had to get a refund straight away and wouldn't get it later if there actually was an issue…

    • ikr. I wonder how they went cancelling the cancellation and reinstating the order? Sounds like a nightmare

    News articles incoming…

    First one from Yahoo Finance

  • Now that there is no more confusion. Has anyone actually received a shipping confirmation?

    • Nope, although my live chat rep confirmed that it should be delivered by the EST - next Monday/Tuesday.

  • +1

Received shipping confirmation from AusPost. Hooray!!!

    • Same here. Ordered 10am

      • Same, from the last patch at 5pm

    • That's good :). I am yet to receive confirmation

    • Ditto. From Titan Gear. I think I got them at either 2pm or 3pm.

  • Unfortunately only the shipping info has been received rather than it being in transit. I was optimistically hoping to receive it on Friday but Monday or Tuesday is looking more likely.

For those who were incorrectly charged $10 for postage -

I contacted eBay via chat and explained that a $10 voucher which is valid for a month and cannot be used in conjunction with another coupon, is not the same as $10 cash.

They have now agreed to refund me the $10.

    • I tried via Chat and Phone support. They didn't budge. If it didn't have a shitty 1 month expiry I wouldn't care.

      • yeah same, they said can't do anything…only Voucher! How disappointing!

  • I just got mine delivered.

    It says made of Malaysia.

    • yep, Apple is slowing taking manufacturing to other countries so they don't have to rely on China for everything.

      • SORRY, miss type it says Made for Malaysia.

        • Oh…

          • @IMadeYouReadThis: Does this mean it is a grey import ? That is unfortunate but not unexpected. Should have been advertised however.

        • No, based on the picture posted by this comment it is clearly stated that "Designed by Apple in California Made in China''.

The left hand side is the information for the main headquarter in respective country. E.g. For Malaysia (Registered company name + address in Malaysia).

          • @JadaJ: Malaysia must have a cheaper base price or had a sale recently… I grabbed one from australiacamerasales and it was also for Malaysia… doesn’t really matter though the warranty is global.

            • @ATangk: I just checked my serial number on the Apple site and it says it cant confirm the date of purchase..

So how am I meant to secure my warranty if its a gift?

              • @graceyym: When you try you can login and then it’ll ask for your purchase date. It’ll then have an estimated warranty date based on what you enter.

                • @ATangk: So could I technically just wait a year and then enter in that date? Then warranty would start from that date?

                  • @graceyym: Uhh, sure? but maybe theyll ask for a tax invoice for your purchase… Tho they dont say serial number if its not bought from Apple so YMMV

  • +2

Even did not receive delivery notification…

    • Same.

    • I didn't get anything from eBay regarding shipping but my Auspost account shows a delivery has been lodged by Titan Gear.

  • +2

Haven't received dispatch email from ebay or aust post yet

  • +1

Hmm interesting, no shipping notification but they literally showed up at my door now. They would have shipped these before the error. Damn I should have asked for a refund lol.

    • Just curious.. what hour slot did you order yours?

      • Very last 5pm slot.

      • I have seen people that bought at different time slot saying they have already received shipping information, some have not. So it is probably being dispatched according to the state and location.

    • Lets not get greedy now lol.

      • 🙄🙄🙄

  • +1

    Received mine today.

  • Got a shipping ref. # in AusPost app yesterday, but hasn't been updated beyond "shipping info received/approved". No scan to show AusPost actually has it.

    • Just checked eBay - not showing as posted in purchase history. Only notice has been through AusPost.

    • Mine's showing as "Item processed in facility" so its on it's way.
Annoyingly, Amazon pulled the "we shipped item yesterday but actually only gave it to Aus Post today" crap on an item I wanted to get before the weekend.

Seems like people who have reported receiving it are in Sydney. Maybe an extra day or two for other cities.

    • I'm in Sydney CBD. Still no shipping notification or anything. Perhaps it will turn up this week, here's hoping!

    • Yep it's shipping from Syd so makes sense

  • +1

I received mine today without having eBay/seller update me on shipping details. In Sydney FYI.

    • Same, no notification whatsoever, received it in my office. Sydney also.

  • +1

mine is coming today. western sydney bound. shipped yesterday 4pm

UPDATE: Just arrived :) SO happy :))))

  • +1

I just received my Malaysian AirPods. In Sydney.

I received a shipping confirmation after the delivery confirmation.

  • The feedback is starting to come in now that people are receiving it.

    • And the first neg..

Negative feedback rating Your recent eBay transaction may be from a compromised account Buyer: t***b ( 13 )

Just got dispatch email from eBay with tracking nbr. Hopefully arrives tomorrow.

    • What do you mean?! I’ve been waiting for a cheap set of airpods for ages

    • Probably not. We paid $99 because the case looks good on a shelf and it was cheaper than the $129 it costs to just get a new case.

  • Receive dispatch notification and item is with Auspost. Hopefully receiving it tomorrow. Ordered 1pm

Edit: Just got it. Thanks TA for the post

  • how come it is grey import airpod? i thought it is Aus stock as on the listing it states model number is MV7N2ZA/A, which is an Aus model…….did i miss anything here?

    • Yeah, true, it's not actually what was ordered. But I doubt anyone will complain. The best you'd get is a refund.

    • Aren't these covered by international warranty anyway unlike iPhones?

  • Received mine today. I was able to get them at the last session.

  • Got the Auspost notification, and 'sent' notification from ebay, but tracking shows "shipping information approved by australia post".

  • Do they send you the tax invoice for warranty purpose?

    • no, I didn't get one. Warranty is attached to the serial number I guess

  • Auspost update says it’ll be delivered tomorrow and signature required.

  • Woohoo, mine is onboard for delivery today.

  • Got mine. :-D.

(Some said their's may be grey imports, so I checked & looks like Aus stock (the product code etc. checks out anyway))

    • No Malaysian on the bottom of the box?

      • Mine has Malaysian and says its made for Malaysia what the hell!? Would be nice if they mentioned that on the listing.

      • Says Malaysia, but SKU & model #s check out with what JB & Officeworks list.

However, I just checked on Apple's "Check Coverage" link & gave a "Purchase date not validated" error. Support from Apple fixed that, but may take up to 24hrs to push through. Then will be able to confirm has Aust support coverage etc. She was able to confirm from a June production batch, so at least it's official Apple stock, I suppose.

        • Awesome, so If I were to do the same thing and speak with Apple, would I need to provide anything to them to prove purchase? Or can I just tell them I purchased it on whatever date and they'll say yep and give me warranty from then?

Ultimately, this is a gift so I would like to have warranty on it for the person I'm gifting it too. So they can access the warranty without having to go through my account or anything like that if that makes sense.

          • +1

@graceyym: You will sometimes need to provide a Proof Of Purchase depending on the person who serves you, however eBay receipts aren't counted as a valid PoP. My advice is to get them replaced if they get damaged before the 12 months of regular Apple warranty is up and hopefully you won't need to provide any PoP, and then you'll have a new pair with 24x months of warranty thanks to Australian Consumer Law, and a PoP for those new 'Pods.

            • @jupy: So basically, because I purchased them through an eBay promoted sale, I wont have proper proof of purchase and would have to HOPE that I get an Apple employee that doesnt ask for PoP to get them replaced?

eBay or the seller really should have sent through a proper invoice right? (Fingers crossed theyre all good) but what if this batch of Apple Airpods are rubbish & don't work as advised? I don't want to have to rely on the possibility I may or may not get someone at apply that doesn't ask for proof of purchase for these Airpods.

              • @graceyym: Yup, exactly. eBay PoP usually doesn't help with Apple repairs if the date of purchase on your invoice doesn't match the date of purchase of the actual AirPods. This is the same for anything Apple-related that is purchased from Kogan. Grey Import feels.

If you explain the situation, Apple should hopefully help you out. Sooner rather than later in the 12 months would be best I think.

              • @graceyym: I had a 'proper' invoice arrive just before 5pm via email.

        • Model number should be universal.

          • +2

@ATangk: UPDATE: I explained the situation to the Apple Support girl, & she added a purchase date. Now showing as 12mths repairs & support, so dunno if grey import but my set is now covered at least.

Suggest others do the same if their serial # has the same error.

Even if you don't have an official receipt except eBay, they may be a June production batch (like mine).

            • @Linkwick: I called and they were going to apply the registration but the lady on the phone was having a system error doing so and the escalation team for those matters don't work weekend. Doing a call back Monday but the position seems to be that they'll accept it. With any luck a proper invoice will come through in the mean time.

              • @Smigit: Follow up to my own post, called back and it looks like they've put my coverage down as ending 25/07/2020, so actually get a few extra days. They don't appear in my store account but the check coverage page now has a date that wasn't there previously.

  • I got mine in the 5pm drop, received them this morning and I live in Melbourne (northern subs) serial number checks out with Apple and they seem to working great :)

    • +1

Melbourne here too - I got the 5pm batch (4th maybe?), and still only have 'shipping info received' message. Have an invoice, but no pods. :(

  • Received mine just now, in the Sydney Metro area.

  • I received mine today Sydney CBD. It came with a normal charging case in the box but, I thought Airpods2 is coming with wireless charging case. Am I wrong?

    • +1

Airpods 2 with lightning case, and airpods 2 with wireless charging case are two different products. RRP is $319 for those ones, not $249 as was case for these.

      • Thanks for the clarification. I understand Airpods2 have 2 versions one with a cable or wireless charging case.

    • Look at the bottom of the packaging box, it should be printed MV7N2ZA/A Airpods with Charging Case. If you see that then it is the wireless charging case.

      • +1

Actually, the wireless charging ones have a product SKU of MRXJ2ZA/A.
They also have a RRP of $329 (not $249, as the "normal" Airpods 2 & this deal was listed as. The normal SKU is what you listed).

        • +1

Oh oh oh, I am sorry for the misinformation! You are right, MV7N2ZA/A is the normal one, and we are getting the normal one for $99.

          Thanks for correcting me!

          • @JadaJ: Though getting wireless charging would've been awesome. :-)

  • +6

I have checked my AirPods 1 packaging, purchased from Apple store, the packaging is actually say "for Malaysia" too, so I guess all Aus stock is like that ,with 2 years warranty.

  • +2

You can register your Airpods 2 here : https://checkcoverage.apple.com/au/en/

  • +1

Received my tax invoice via email just before 5pm, with the $249+$10 shipping displayed. :-)

Picked up from parcel locker this afternoon. No issues at all.

After the clusterf&#k around the 'compromised' account email, happy to have my $99 AirPods in my hands before the original ETA.
