i got the 8 recharge deal back in May so it runs out in January next year.
also should note, due to some late-night derpness, i wasn't careful enough with my email addresses and ended up applying the groupon deal to an existing amaysim account that already had another number attached. deal still went through.

the way the groupon deal was worded, it seemed to be for new customers/email addresses only, and i normally use a new email address for each new sim.
I use Amaysim livechat to confirm with customer support - that way you have it in writing officially, too. When using these multiple recharge detals you have to leave "auto recharge" on in order for the included recharges to work.. Which sucks if you get the expiry date incorrect!
I just make sure to cancel auto recharge as soon as the last recharge month begins.
You can simply change the payment method to BPay though and you won't be charged a single cent and your plan will get renewed every 28 days. Confirmed.

Just change it to Bpay and you will be fine. I am on the 8 month plan. It gets renewed with no issues. No need making things more complicated ;-)

In my past experience, if you elect to port your number, you can delay the porting until you are ready but you must still use the Groupon voucher to get the SIM.
Also from past experience, if you choose a new number, Amaysim will activate the SIM the moment they post it. However, within a certain number of days, you can contact support to have the start date reset.

More info? That might be due to your location. Where I work, I only get full bars on the Telstra netowrk. Optus and Vodafone is pretty bad. At home, all 3 are good.

putting the great price aside, is anyone struggling with the connection?
I have been using Telstra data plan and Aldi mobile (Telstra) with no issues at all
but with Amaysim I find that the that connectivity is problematic within office building (Sydney CBD / Martin Place) where i cant seem to stream youtube at all or takes very long time to load. Also noticed connection type occasionally falling back to 3G instead of 4G… not sure if its just me…
I also had shit reception indoors with amaysim which is why I left for Boost and I’m quite happy with them except for their stupid shitty app.
