      You might even say super

    • Just checked against Ozito, dam straight its cheap :D

Anyone know if the mitre saw unclips to be used 'freehand' as a circular saw?

  • Anyone use this brand - looking to replace my ozito and this is looking good!

    • Rockwell is Supercheap Auto in-house brand (just like Ozito is to Bunnings).

Nevermind, appears that Rockwell Tools are a China-based company with North American headquarters

      • Any thiughts on how this would compare to the ozito power xchange one that was just posted (which i was actually planning on buying tonight)

        • The Ozito Power X Change 18V 210mm Compound Mitre Saw is part of the Power X Change ecosystem and requires a battery to operate.

If you don't have other Ozito Power X Change power tools, then you would also have to factor in the cost of the battery and charger.

          • @RichardL: sorry - i should have been more clear - do you have any ideas how they compare with regard to actual cutting performance / operations ?

(I already have ozito battery - just wanted to know as an actual saw how they stacked up?)

            • @dr_ rusko: Ozito has slightly more cutting capacity for angled cuts.

Ozito also has a work light and laser meaning you can cut in the dark if you want to.

From what I've found, even cheap corded tools are much more powerful than cheap cordless tools.
Ease of cuts it's a combination of a good blade and powerful motor (speed and torque). Unfortunately cheap cordless like the ozito will never match a corded version.

For portability then go the battery ozito. Convenience will outweigh performance IMHO.
But if you aren't going to different worksites then go corded.

        • 5 year warranty

  • +1

Cheap BUY is it safe to use lol

    • +5

"Is it safe?" - It's a huge spinning blade; so if you don't know how to use it, no.

    • +1

      nothing super glue wont fix

    • Haha I'm with this guy.
Not willing to bet my safety on the build quality

  • Thanks OP, got one can't go wrong for under $40.

  • Thanks OP got one saw

  • is this battery powerered or plug?

    • 1200 watt battery . Bargain its a super cheap saw.

    • 1200W - pretty sure it would be plug.

      • +1

Of course its plug in i was joking

  • +3
    • looks like it is plug then

  • Bargain! Especially when combined with a discounted eBay gift card from a previous deal :)

  • Bought one, thanks OP

  • Thanks OP, bought one. the cordless drill is on sale too. so garbed one as well

    • +3

      so garbed one as well

      garb /ɡɑːb/ verb
past tense: garbed; past participle: garbed
      Dress in distinctive clothes.

  • Incredible price. Always wanted one of these but was too tight to spend any more than this

  • Grabbed one and a rotary tool (just under $25 with discount i think).
Both seem like pretty good value considering I am a light user.

    • +1

The rotary tool looks identically to the one Kmart was selling ages ago. If it really is the same try to return it, it's crap

  • Would this basically be from the same factory as the Ozito cheapie?
Too bad I bought mine a few years ago for like $70 or whatever it is was :(

  • +3

    I don’t need it…. do I?

  • +8

There is the Rockwell 250w Bench Grinder for $26.17 using code.

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Rockwell-ShopSeries-Bench-Grinde…

    • +1

I got this one - worth the additional price imo compared to 150w

    • +1

I have a 350W grinder and I would say it is underpowered. I think 250W would be borderline, I can't imagine 150W would be much faster than using a file.

  • 76 purchase in 1 hour. Getting ozbargained. Op you should add all the other Rockwell products as well. There’s a few.

  • +1

Thanks bought saw and grinder because how could I not at this price… I think they kept selling out at stores while trying to checkout with click and collect but got it eventually just some driving to do two different stores.

  • The drill is a bargain. Had mine for a year, using it daily at work for rivet holes. I think I've spent more on drill bits I've worn out than what I paid for the drill. Highly recommend.

  • Thanks op. Bought 20L of the oil for my Hilux. It wouldn't let me purchase two from the one store for some reason. I might have just been unlucky with stock levels. I usually pay ~ $105 for 20L of oil so this is a good price.

    • Same for me however it will let you purchase 1 from each store per transaction. So I am picking up from 2 of my closet stores

  • all mitre saws gone.. bugger.. need one so I can make a new side gate :(

      • thnaks mate, placed an order for one for pickup at my local SCA, here's hoping I get it.

        • +1

No worries, fingers crossed. I got mine delivered, figured the delivery and discount close to offsets one another.

          • @deal junkie: yup! awesome! received the SMS and already have been and picked th emitre saw up.. next weekend there's going to be some gate building :) MAny thanks for your suggestion.

      • thanks mate im always too slow on the deals but i was able to get one and pickup at my closest store :)

        • +1

No worries, fingers crossed. I got mine delivered, figured the delivery and discount close to offsets one another.

  • +1

Soooo tempted to order some.. I don't need any of it though.. The struggle is real!

EDIT - Had the 250w Grinder and Mitre Saw in my cart and went to confirm order.. Fortunately there are no Mitre Saws left so it got declined.. Don't have to buy something I don't really need now. Thank you :)

    • change store pick up location

    • I had the same in the checkout and went to the shed to see if I could fit any other rubbish, and when I returned, my local store was ozbargained. this was still 9ish pm.

Thankfully all sold out now (at that price), so purchase decision is made.
ebay still hassling to complete cart purchases that are out of stock though.

  • I tried to checkout the drill but it didn't work twice…. sold out?

    ignore, just changed store

  • Would the 18V drill be a better buy?

  • They Also have Direct Power Impact Drill - 500W for $15.30 free delivery

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Direct-Power-Impact-Drill-500W/1…

    • -1

      $18 + $8 delivery

      • Mine says free delivery

  • no stock everywhere for mitre saw

  • Thank you!
Got the 250W Bench grinder and 12v Drill C&C.
As others stated Mitre saw is sold out.

  • +1

I went for the 18v one instead. Might as well pay the extra $5 or so

    • Seems there are two 18v drills although both Lithium and different prices

  • Will this drop saw cut aluminium ? Is there a special blade I could buy that will fit this to cut 60mmD aluminium tube ?

  • thanks op, bought the 12v drill.

  • -1

I thought everyone would already have the Ozito mitre saw back when it was $50 like how everyone should have a QFF membership by now and NiMH smart charger :P

  • anyone know if they notify it is available to collect or just turn up at the store and demand?

bought like 5 different tools, gotta hide it from the wife before she comes home.

    • They notify to collect. I went before I got the email though and it was sitting on the counter and fine to pickup.

    • Hide them in the back of the closet with your wife shoes she's hidden from you.

      • +1

Yeah. Well all up cost around 120. Thats less than one of her single shoes

  • I am not familiar with tools, thinking to buy the Rockwell ShopSeries Cordless Drill for my dad. Looking at the 18V one and there are 3 variations, just wondering what's the difference between? 18V; 18V Li-ion & 18 Ni-Cad.
I heard that Li-ion is better than Ni-cad as it lasts longer, is that why it's more expensive? What about the 18V, it's the middle price between the other 2 variants?
Just for general home DIY, which one would you recommend?
Our existing one had smoke coming out if stressed, my dad said maybe just need to change parts inside but not sure what needs to be change or get the part. And advice on this?
Also, hope this is not a stupid question but altho it's a drill, I can just change the drill bit to a screw bit as a screw driver right?
    Thanks for any helpful answers!

    • Hey mate, the 18v lithium is the best option. Yes you can use this as a driver with a screwdriver bit.

    • If smoke came out that would be the windings burning or the gears melting.
Either way the old one is over.
There seem to be two 18v Lithium Ion ones, looks like an older and a newer model.
They are the ones to get if your dad need to do heavier drilling. If it's just assembling Ikea furniture and the occasional hole, the 12v one would be fine.

    • You don't want NiCad. It's super old tech. The batteries don't hold much power and don't have a long service life.

    • Thanks all, my dad wanted the 18v one. I bought this in the end, whole set, since they are all probably MIC anyway. 18V Cordless Screw Drill Driver Screwdriver Bits Set Hand Tools (unbranded 19pcs set). Unsure if it's considered a deal or not :)

      • 18v is a good choice, it can do most jobs easily.

  • Can someone please explain this stupidity?

  • Thanks op! Went to get a mitre saw but was sold out. Got a circular saw and it scanned at $6.80!

  • Reckon SCA's best price guarantee would hold up to the eBay prices provided you've got the image they request (Pre-sales invoice) I'd love a mitre saw invoice, it's the one i can't get now as it's sold out!

    • My item was in stock ebay&store when I made the claim. I gave my receipt only and was not asked to provide anything else. Purchased a Rockwell tool and accessories in store Saturday, came home saw the ozbargain ebay "plunge" code detail, phoned the store and arranged difference refund of $15. Then ended up spending more in store purchasing 10L of Penrite HPR5 5w 40 $59.

      • I just had $800 worth of purchases refunded 15% from yesterday :)

      • @CheepAsChips how'd you get plunge honored in store after the fact?
HOjust denied my purchases according to store manager!

  • Thanks OP
    Grabbed a bench grinder.
    Can’t go wrong for $16.99.
    Cheers
