Earn US $24+ in Crypto Currency (DAI) by Watching Some Short Videos and Setting up a Wallet/CDP @ Coinbase

1280

Coinbase has a new offer, members can now earn 20 DAI, a stable coin pegged to the US dollar, by following a short tutorial. There are 3 very short videos to watch that earn 2 DAI each, if you answer the multiple choice question correctly. After that you earn 14 DAI by installing Coinbase mobile wallet. Coinbase will also send you 0.02 Ethereum (currently about $USD4.26) to allow you to follow a tutorial and generate DAI. All up took about 10 minutes and a few extra minutes waiting for the network to process transactions.

You need a verified account to do this. I'm not giving them my id.

    • +4

With crypto, this is pretty common

      • +8

I thought the anonymity of crypto was one of it's selling points.

        • +2

This is where most people get confused. The ID is for setting up your account. When you make purchases/trades, the transactions will be encrypted.

          • +3

@ilovefullprice: I would not entrust Coinbase to protect your privacy in any way.

            • @TheGoodPart: Why is that? Coinbase got bad history or reputation in the past? I thought it is one of the most prominent one

              • +1

@OzFrugie: They're certainly the largest American exchange, but with that comes complying with American law enforcement. Coinbase will absolutely do anything the government asks of them. They're definitely one of the most secure exchanges so if you just want to buy some cryptocurrency to hold they're not a bad choice (I would use an Australian exchange first) but if you think you're data is protected using Coinbase you're dead wrong.

                • @TheGoodPart: Of course. It is 2019, not 2013. Not sure why you would prefer an Australian exchange as an Australian resident: every oz exchange will roll over for oz cops much faster than Coinbase will. Every oz exchange does kyc and passes info to the ATO.

                • @TheGoodPart: I don't use Coinbase myself but my understanding is that their fees are high and misleading (My friend who uses them claims they have no fee? That is clearly misleading)

100% Aussie exchanges are giving your info to the ATO. I don't think you're going to be able to dodge tax just by using Coinbase so why not use a local exchange with transparent fees?

That said, I'm not totally against Coinbase. Buy crypto wherever you want and do whatever you want with it (That's the point right?). Just giving my opinion.

            • @TheGoodPart: Yeah you have a point here if Coinbase cannot be trusted! But someone has commented below Coinbase is one of the more prominent ones without bad reputation

          • +2

@ilovefullprice: That's not true: transactions are not encrypted, they are visible to anyone

          • +11

@ilovefullprice: Not right at all. Standard crypto is not private. Virtually all onramps are now KYC’d. When you purchase from an exchange like Coinbase they know who you are, if you transfer funds from Coinbase to anywhere else, the wallet you send from is tied to you. Those funds can be tracked via the ledger to their destination.

To the regular joe, they wouldn’t be able to tie it back to you by just looking at the transaction. But say, if the ATO wanted to know, they’d have the originating address and the trail to follow it to it’s destination

            • @sghetti: Thanks, this is helpful info in the ever changing crypto landscape

            • +3

@sghetti: Have you tried local.bitcoin.com? No KYC, P2P exchange, excellent for anonymous fiat onramp. Buy BCH and then exchange it for crypto of your choice on an exchange of your preference.

              • @crypt05ingh: No and there is no way I’d be using a service underpinned by Roger Ver.

I’m sure the liquidity on a small exchange like that is amazing and you certainly wouldn’t be paying a large premium for BCH there. /sarcasm

          Some cryptos are annonymous.
The main selling point of cryptos is fixed supply with security.(at least in bitcoins case).

    • +1

thanks for saving me precious lifetime.

    • Next step is basically an anonymous crypto network.. oh wait that is what game trading and game item markets are all about but there is no official one dedicated to just financial trading that I know of atm unless you go to the dark web maybe? I have no clue but yeah the ID thing makes it kind of like just accessing a more anonymous bank but not quite fully anonymous or private.

      • They're called DEX's.

    • it just says photo id, use your imagination.

  • Can you liquidate it into cash immediately ?

    • I traded it to ETH and sent that to my coinspot account pretty quickly.

      • Coinspot allows to liquidate immediately?

      • +4

Yep easy as. Took me like 20min all up the other day before I withdrew from coinspot.

        • +5

Can someone please explain how to move funds from Coinbase to Coinspot in more detail?

          • +2

            @[Deactivated]:

            1. Go To Coinspot
            2. Go to your coin wallet (must be same as what you're sending from Coinbase)
            3. Click Receive - then copy Address
            4. Go to Coinbase
            5. Click coin, enter amount to send, click Send
            6. Paste Coinspot Address
            7. Check and confirm
            • @freelife: Did you managed to send the small amount of ETH and DAI from Coinbase WALLET to Coinbase or Coinspot? I can’t seem to do it. Anyone knows would appreciate it.

              • +1

@ilovefullprice: What I did was login to the website and press "trade" from there I converted all the small amounts I had leftover and wouldn't trade, into another coin and sent that (personally I went with BAT because of no network fee)

                • @Wilder94: When you login to the website, aren’t you logging in to your Coinbase account which is different to your Coinbase WALLET account? I was referring to the small amounts in the Coinbase WALLET account that we got following the tutorial on getting the collateral

                  • +1

@ilovefullprice: Ah my bad, I somehow had enough to transfer it all into the website

                    • @Wilder94: Ok it might be because of the amounts being too small that the transfer can’t happen.

If I transfer ETH and DAI from my Coinbase account to Coinbase WALLET account to increase the small amounts and then transfer back to my Coinbase account, do you know if this would work?

                      • +1

@ilovefullprice: I don't see why it wouldn't, but the fees may cause you to lose more than you'd gain from transferring

                        • @Wilder94: Yup agreed!

                        • +1

@Wilder94: Not sure why but somehow managed to transfer the small amounts from my Coinbase WALLET account to my Coinbase account just now. Might be a time zone difference in US where there’s more traffic?

        • Apart from CoinSpot does anyone know of any other reliable and/or low fee exchanges we can liquidate?

  • +4

Funny, is it me or you cannot actually open a CDP following the instructions because ETH prices flopped and they didn't give enough to generate the DAI?

EDIT: Nevermind, seems the ETH network is busy; miner fees are high, hence not enough.

    • Still waiting for the ETH deposit.

      • It was a bit weird for me, it wasn't working so I went back to the home page and restarted the process and I got it almost instantly.

    • Yep fees too high at the moment, gonna have to try again later.

      • +1

I forced the transaction through by manipulating the gas price to be 4 Gwei.

1 hour and 7 minutes later, my transaction still not confirmed :(

        • Same here!

        • Confirmed yet?

        • It won't get confirmed until the airdrop spam stops there's a stream of 20 Gwei transactions.
          https://ethgasstation.info/

    • Yeah wow, $9 fee atm. That's a bit rough!

    • +3

      Lol currency of the future.

Remember all those times you are waiting at the ATM but can't redraw because the network is busy and the bank will process it in a few hours if you pay a stupid high fee.

  • There's at least one other crypto course referral link. There's about five other coins that were on Coinbase Earn since the latest deal was posted.

  • Put me on a wait list for it so unable to redeem it immediately.

    • +1

Not 100% but it might mean your ID didn't verify, image quality etc. You might want to try again or try another id type.

  • Any of the other offers worth doing too?

List of earning after completing all the lessons in each coin:
BAT: basic attention token $14 (includes installing brave browser)
      EOS: $31
      XLM: $14
      DAI: $29

The EOS and XLM lessons have referrals that earn ten EOS or XLM. You can add your code once you finish and/or use someone's code from the top if you would like.

      • Should I cash out those others or wait until the DAI is done? Also how do I cash out

      • EOS: $31

BAT, XLM and EOS all add up to $10 USD each (~$14 AUD)

How did you get $31 AUD for EOS? (even with a referral it should only be ~$28 AUD)

        • price rise since I got them I guess.

  • +4

insuffucient $ to do the last step

    • +1

      Same issue

      • what's with the high miner's fee? I don't understand this. Can someone help explain?

        • +4

The cost to "do something" (whether it's transferring balances between one wallet to another, creating a CDP on Maker, etc.) costs "gas". Gas is then translated into a fee in which the miner responsible for your transaction would get.

Right now the network is a bit busy, ie. there's a lot of gas being used; so the cost for gas is high. When the network is not as busy, the gas cost will drop and therefore the miner fee will reduce.

          • @b-t: Thank you for that. So I have to wait a bit until it get less busy, for the last step to work? What was your miner's fee?

            • @stefan7: Yes, because Coinbase didn't give enough ETH to consider that the network would be busy right now LOL

I haven't been able to do the last step either, because I also just tried to do it now so it's not going through with the amount that was given.

I did however, modify some internals to force it to attempt to go through with a lower miner fee, but you see, if you use a lower miner fee, the miners will be like "that's too low, I'm going to aim for the higher payouts (fees)" so it never actually gets mined. Hence, even though I've sent in the transaction, no miner is actually mining it even after an hour of waiting.

We'll just have to wait for the network to be less busy.

    • need more colateral

  • OP there's another referral link to the EOS courses, I asked for the mods to add it.

  • I'm seeing estimated network fees of $9 at the last step.

    • -4

$9 to transfer? I find that very hard to believe.

    • you have to check the decimal points. ETH is roughly 30 odd times the price of DAI? So you put up 0.006 ETH for 0.06 DAI in the CDP. You might be better of not completing that task and cashing out the ETH.

  • +1

Coinbase Earn has plenty of other free money as well. Just verify yourself and watch videos and answer the easiest of easy questions.

  • Anyone else still not recieved their 0.02 eth ?

    • Yes!

      • Finally got it. Sent the trans and received 13.9 DAI.

  • When I enter .006 eth to .06 dai I get insufficient fund

    • im at this last section, network fees is $9… i dont want to press continue

      or am i supposed to?

    • Same

  • This is all too confusing for me. Asking the silly q again, is it legit or scam? Do I have to spend money or link accounts here? I am very new to this.

    • +1

Legit, no you don’t have to spend money but you will need to verify your account by uploading ID

    • Yes it’s legit, Coinbase is quite reputable but you need to be comfortable with giving up your ID to a third party overseas.

It’s required by them due to regulations as a Crypto on-ramp. They need to correctly KYC their customers for the various nations that may ask for records.

  • Edit: figured out how to cashout create an account with coinspot verify ID (some "anti terrorism" law) and go into wallet, select what currency you want and send it, then sell for aud and deposit to bank

  • +1

Insufficient fund miner fee of $6.15 I am stuck

  • Just wait for the transaction fee to go down, when network is less congested.

    • +2

Yes, Ethereum network is being spammed at the moment (not by Ozb or Coinbase) so will want to either sleep on it or increase the gas price to 20+ gwei. The whole process is only meant to take a few minutes so it's a shame that people are getting a bad first impression of trustless finance.

Not too familiar with Coinbase Wallet, but if impatient you could restore the seed to Metamask and and visit the CDP portal via desktop to interact manually.

i just did all the video and quiz for every coin that was paying out..

googled all the answers mostly from reddit

    i made $20USD in Dai
    i made $10USD in EOS
    i made $20USD in XLM
    i made $20USD in BAT
= $50 USD or $73 AUD for free lol

can potentially earn another $80USD by sending invites, but got no one to invite :(

    • How did you do the Dai completely with the current eth tx fees ?

      • +1

i had spare ETH in my Coinbase account, from my failed crypto investings lol

i sent $6 ETH to complate the DAI promotion, in the end it really only costed me $1.30 to complete the transation and i received $14 USD in DAI after

HINT: you can complete the other video quizzes and convert your earnings to ETH thru coinbase. then use the ETH to complete the DAI transaction. winning!

    • Your total should be $70 USD?

      • +1

XLM and BAT is $10 USD each, sorry i copied and pasted and forgot to edit

total made tonight was $50 USD… well i just transferred everything to BTC market australia and withdrew it all i made $72 AUD after fees.

        • If you wait 10 years that $72 would be worth $72m

      • Okay yes got $70 in ETH now how to bank it, I mean send it to AUD in bank account. Coinbase don’t seem to support sell trade in Australia

    • Same. Free money while lying in bed watching vids!

    • Yep did the same thing, although only worth $63 with the market dip haha
