PSP Go 16GB - $149.97 @ Myer (Limited Quantity - Call Your Local Myer Store)

300

Hey guys,

Picked up a PSP Go for $149.97 at Myers Chadstone yesterday. Found out about this price when I called to check if the PSP-3000 was priced the same instore as it was online.

Anyway, in regards to stock level here's what I can share.

None left at Myers Bourke St (Melb)
1 left at Myers Chadstone (Melb) last I checked was at about 8.30pm yesterday [23-06-11]
Guy at Myers Bourke checked in the system and told me that there were 2 left at Knox (also Melb) but also said that the system could be inaccurate.

Hope you guys who missed out on the PSP 3000 manage to get this.

It's actually not that bad considering a PSP 3000 + a 16gb Memory Stick would set you back about $170 ($55 for 16gb Sandisk Memory Stick @ MSY)

There is of course the problem with not being to play your existing UMDs if you have any and the screen size is much smaller and some may say that the button layout is less comfortable than the 3000.

Also can confirm it's CFW-able =]

Not a valid reason. Only reps aren't allowed to post low stock bargains.

This is a great bargain if you can find stock, call your local and check yourself!

      • +2

        I agree. Still a bargain

        • -7

How can it be a bargain if you can't get one? Or are we supposed to vote retrospectively???

      • Not a valid reason. Only reps aren't allowed to post low stock bargains.

        not true…

"Please follow a few simple guidelines to make OzBargain a better place for both the bargain hunters and merchants."

        http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:rules_guidelines

      • Except you couldn't price match the ladders, but plenty of places would be selling the PSP go. So you could get them to price match as long as there's still on or two in Myer.

        • price matches occur when there is stock, most places ring to confirm, i doubt there will be any stock left @ this price.

        • So you could get them to price match

OW won't price match… they call up to check on stock…

        • Officework dont even sell PSPGo. In fact, while hunting for it earlier on this year, most places don't even retail PSPGo anymore. The myer stocks are probably exceedingly rare.

      • -1

really resisting the urge to comment that there are atleast 6 more people having no clue on this site than those who do :P

  • this avail online?

    • nope, was unable to find the deal on the Myer online store

  • WAT REALLY that cheap 150 wow gonna check.

  • Bad thing about the PSP GO is sony killed it off

  • +5

How is this any different to listing Target clearance items, likened to the camera and the door bell video phone I listed the other day!? At least this deal has listed "potential" stock levels, whereas the Target deals may well be one offs!?

Also, he's/she's given you a copy of the receipt for price matching…can't ask for much more!?

    • -6

How is this any different to listing Target clearance items

because Myer don't have any left…

      • following your logic, as soon as a deal runs out of stock, we should neg it ?

        • if you applied logic, you wouldnt make a post which such limited quantities. If the places were reversed and someone posted a deal that made you really want it, you wouldnt be here talkng about logic

    • op has clearly given out the impression there is little to no stock (2) in the area he looked wanted to get it form, its not like it was a generic post " hey i got this item really cheap at so and so, check your local store and see if its there too". Thats how its different

  • Lucky man.
    Its a great price.
    I haven't touched my PSP-1000 for years.
Its still a great time killer.

  • +1

Hate to be a pedant, but it's Myer by the way.. not Myers.. (as it clearly shows the image of your receipt!)

    • -2

      It's in more than one store… lol…

      • +1

LOL… Everyone says Harvey Normans and Dick Smiths right?

        • +5

          woolworthss ss ' ss

        • -1

LOL… Everyone says Harvey Normans and Dick Smiths right?

          yep…

I went to 1 Dick Smith

          I went to 2 Dick Smiths…

    • Lol, sorry it's habitual. tend to say Myers alot when I do infact know that it's Myer. Damn "Myer's my store" ad keeps playing in my head and hence Myers stuck.

    • Didn't it used to be "Myer's"?
I remember seeing Cadbury used to be Cadbury's, I think alot of companies have done it.

    • In the context use in the OP's post, it isn't used in the right context. However if talking about more than one store… Pretty sure it's correct to use Myers. e.g. there are plenty of Toms around and not there are plenty of Tom around (unless he's been in the movie Saw).

  • To all the sooks winging about there being such limited stock, go out and get a price match instead. As long as there's one or two still in stock at Myer then there really isn't limited "stock" because there's plenty of places that sell the PSP go that you could get a price match from.

    • +1

      get a price match instead

who price matches when there's no stock ???

      • +2

        incompetant sales assistants FTW!

        • +2

then it becomes a lottery, not a deal…

        • +3

Well you Sir, are an incompetent speller.

      • -1

        exactly!

      • Except the OP said that there was one in stock at Chaddy and potentially two at Knox. And other people have found them at other stores too.

  • +3

Funny story: if he hadn't have been a real help and listed stock quantities, he wouldn't have gotten any neg votes.

How about all the haters think that one over..

    • +1

If you don't know the quantities, fine, but if you do, and it's pretty much impossible to purchase, why post ???

"Please follow a few simple guidelines to make OzBargain a better place for both the bargain hunters and merchants."
MAKE sure there is sufficient quantity.
      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:rules_guidelines

      • Sorry jv, wasn't aware of that.

Then again, I don't know which stores have them in stock nationwide. So what I've stated is only an indication of what I've checked across the 3 stores.

The sales assistant at Myer Bourke wasn't very helpful and didn't seem to wanna do a check properly so yeah.

Only way to check is to call your local Myer and get them to hold it or if you're extra nice, don't hold it, hurry to another retailer that has it and price match to the Myer that you just called. =]

        • Then again, I don't know which stores have them in stock nationwide.

          fair call…

        • he probably didnt wanna check, because its probably a huge walk to the stock area there. I was there on tuesday for the same thing and i couldnt see where they would bring the stock from, so i wouldnt wanna go look either:p

Looks like the PSPGo 10 free games promotion is still running.
    http://au.playstation.com/psn/support/psp/detail/item310784/

Offer ends 31 August 2011. Buy PSPgo, then wirelessly download the PSPgo Promotion Theme from PlayStation Store directly to your PSPgo by 31 August 2011 to receive a PSN promotion code allowing you to download 10 free PSP games.

    • thanks for that Lacerta, didn't think it was still on

  • very unlike that stock would be at my local store,I might get the psp vita when that comes out hopefully it will be better than the psp go.

    • It looks the goods and with a RRP of $350

      • The US RRP is $250, for the WiFi only model. If our dollar is strong at release, I might just import it. Just wish they went full hd (720p) with the resolution.

  • Thanks very much ekwj.
Got 2 at Loganholme Myer. Had 3 in stock, one is still left.

    • you're welcome

  • Every time I see a PSP bargain, I regret not buying one of the PSP Go's when Toys r Us were clearing them out for $50. -_-

    • If it makes you feel any better, I got the PSP Go for $50 from Toys R Us, installed CFW on it, downloaded some games… and now it sits on my shelf collecting dust.

      • you should sell it to michael for $50 so you could have $50 dollars sitting in your wallet =]

  • If Myer is out of stock, try price matching at EB. I got them to price match the PSP 3000 last night. No problem at all.

    • EB do not stock PSPGo since last year.

    • +1

HAHAHAHA! Getting EB to price match anything is a miracle!
They always seem to have some BS excuse not to price match. Most common is "they are not in our area"

I live out West Brisbane were I have a local "GAME". The Brisbane City EB will refuse to match the GAME price as they are not a competitor. Now if I go into EBGames in the city and say match item XX and they say no, I then go to my local and purchase item XX then how are they not EBGames Competitor??.

Im sorry, EB just really gets under my skin because they claim to be a Game specialist but I can promise you 9 time outta 10 they will have the highest price in town, normally RRP.

      ….RANT OVER :-P

On a related note I saw a PSP Go in the display cab at Myer Indooroopilly last night

  • +1

At myer northland (Vic) and there's 2 left in the display cabinet.

    • +5

OZBargain should have some sort of feature that tracks the amount of people who have got it? (by allowing them to click on a button that prob says "I got this deal" or something? So that it can be an indication of how likely it is for anyone to get a particular bargain. Just a thought.

      • What he said…..

      • Sounds like a labor policy, all good in theory, but in execution flawed

      • Its actually a good idea—>votes currently state how "theoretically" good a deal it is (regardless of how many people can actually get the aforementioned ladders, cameras, psps)
whereas the propositioned idea could get us the real world use of it.

        Poor example BUT:
50 promo codes for an ios app (where at least 50 people benefited) is LESS popular than one where two people got a ladder (for a great price mind you)

I guess it is just my sour grapes in that I will miss out on these truly great markdown deals

  • I saw on EBgames.com.au a psp 3000 new for $188.00?? is this right?

  • Hahaha beat me to it. Got a psp 3000 for $103 from myer today. They also have the little big planet pack (turquoise psp) for $150. My local store also had psp 100x's and psp 200x's. Lol but I didn't check the price :)

    • Found a FIFA mud in the psp… :s no pr0n but Thanks myer

    • which myer branch and do you mind sharing the receipt so that we can get it price matched

  • nice :D

    Is this instore as well?

  • Alright, Guess how my evening went?

None in Perth Myer, no problems! lets pricematch!
none at the 3 jb hi-fis in the city
none at the 4 ebgames in the city
none at the game in the city
none at the dick smith in the city
none at the target in the city

    • Bad luck dude but honestly, its not like the PSP Go was any good right from the beginning.
Just wait for the new Vita.

      • It was more because it would do as a stand in handheld for a few months until the Vita, and it would also mean I had 10 games to load straight up to my vita aswell. oh well.

  • +1

I remember reading an article about how eb games doesn't want to sell psp gos because they wanted to make a statement about Sony's digital download only system which meant stores like eb games couldn't profit from it since consoles have a low margin place in them. Shoul have mentioned it earlier

  • Was just in at Myer Warringah Mall last night and they still had at least one PSP Go available with a Clearance Price label of $150 on it. So if anyone is interested you might still be able to score a cheapie.
