Wow, so many people out there with no clue. I'm assuming the ACCC head honcho knows better, and that the tiny online article written by PerthNow has just glorified and exaggerated a tiny story.

It's okay mate, just keep your tin foil hat on and they can't track you.

What a waste of time reading that dribble

    • Your android or iPhone knows more about you then these devices!!!

This is also available via the Google Store.

Yea I added a link to it too, you get to also pick the colour of the Home Mini.

      • I've split off the Google Store offer to a separate deal, as per the Deal Posting Guidelines:

Each deal should be specific to one store as far as possible. All deals posted for a store are listed on the appropriate store page, and the store page is often used by users to check for duplicates. If you have multiple deals from multiple stores, post them as separate deals so that other users can easily find them by store.

lol definitely enticing the OZB deal criticiser's by starting it with 'not sure if this is a deal'

Not sure if this is a deal

Then why did you post it?

    • +1

      Is that a legit store?

It honestly looks like something to make fun of Harvey Norman lol

      • Joyce Mayne is a huuuuge electronics store

    • For 1 dollar, I would go to a larger reputable company vs a small independant who i haven't purchased from before, but if it was 10 bucks difference, I would maybe give them a go?

  • Google Home Mini is good. But I found only for small rooms. I found it was terrible and detecting voices unless you were almost on top of it.

    • might be a faulty unit

I have 2 of them that sit in large areas, 1 sits in a lounge room 8m x 5m and its at the far end and no issues, and the other is inbetween kitchen and dining and it works from the dining room

    • That is not correct. The microphones work great even with loud background noises such as a portable air conditioner. I have them in multiple rooms and they light up while deciding which room the request came from.

  • Personality i not a fan of the chromecast, I have an ultra that is just sitting on desk unused for about 6 months now. I have mi boxes and vodafone tv boxes that have replaced its usefulness

    • Interested in selling that?

      • Offer him a box of Tic Tacs/

      • I'm still trying to work out if i could use it somewhere.

    • I was thinking of buying a Chromecast. What would you recommend instead?

      • +1

Mi Box (Android TV 8), Nvidia Sheild (Android TV 8-9 soon), or Vodafone TV (Android TV 7.1)

        • but why?

          • @abuch47: Amazon Fire TV Stick Is another one that sounds good! Which ones were you thinking?

            • @bobwokeup: Well I have no idea actually but with chromecast the beauty I assume is cast ANY media to a dumb tv fairly easily.

Cast and home mini to turn coffee machine or music on by voice.

              • @abuch47: But you have to use another device to do it. So your phone is used up if you want to put a movie on for kids

                • @asa79: True I was gonna laptop foxtel go and movies to tv.

As I said how do the other devices work?

                  • +1

@abuch47: Just like a smart TV. But if you really want to sit at a laptop and do it

                    • @asa79: So add the apps I'd use to cast with would work for sports and fox but would have to transfer media files still.

                      • @abuch47: Just use the apps direct like Netflix plex kodi etc

                        • @asa79: I'm not sure I can be bothered as I use my ps4 for everything but fox, afl which is why casting is sort of easy. Not in adelaide per chance?

                          • @abuch47: So just play on your ps4.

                            • @asa79: Might grab this deal to have casting functionality and one home mini to start spotify and the coffee machine.
