  • Can you get enclosures to use this externally on an Xbox?

    • Yes, I would say so at least.
I have a SimpleCom enclosure with a WD Blue m.2 in it, not sure if it works with Xbox's, but the file system is the same (NTFS) so it should work.

    • Yes. They're expensive though, just search up pcie enclosure.

You sure can. I bought one a couple of weeks ago. An enclosure for an M.2 NVME is about $30.

It took a bit of research because the Chinese sellers key word spam their listings with 'M2' 'MKey' "M-Key' when in fact they are selling A+M Key and NOT M2 Key. Many times the description is different from the Title and or Picture. Keep this in mind when you search for one. Good luck.

      • Thanks!

      • Thanks Nova, but if you're prepared to wait a month you most likely can get that for about half the price from a Chinese seller.

        • I couldn't wait months and bit the bullet with a sham 'Aussie based' Chinese seller. Arrived in 2 weeks from…China. lols

@NovaPR: Yeah, would not be happy if they say it will be delivered in x amount of time and it takes 2 weeks.

Usually Local listed locations should take no more thn 2 to days.. as you said, shammmm

    • Would this provide any performance improvement over say a Samsung 860 EVO, via USB 3.0?

      Not sure you'd notice it.

  • Double post**

  • Just picked one up 30 minutes ago. Just a 3700x deal to go and I'm set.

  • Cheers! Hopefully 28 Degrees accepts this one as a price protection claim.

  • Can anyone show me what kind of converter to get - one that converts this SSD back to a 2.5” factor form to go into a laptop? The reason why I want to do this is becos I want to “futureproof” and be able to use this M.2 SSD on another laptop.

    Would this do?

    • No. That mSata was the form of motherboard "SSD card" before the current interface that NVMe uses. You do occasionally still see drives for sale with that interface from Samsung etc, but they are the same speed as the common SATA SSD drives.

    • Just buy a $40 sata for your laptop, future proofing ssd is silly as prices keep dropping and by the time you need one for a new laptop you'll probably get a bigger better one for the price difference anyway.
