Why people buying iPhone with 32gb storage? Are they 12 years old or just plain noobies?

    • +2

I guess they are popular among mom and dad?

    • +4

Why would you need more when you have Spotify and iCloud?

      • +1

you have unlimited cloud storage and amazing upload speeds for your photos?

        • +1

I don’t take unlimited photos nor do most people.

          • @Icecold5000: ok sure thing mr democratically elected representative for most people

            • @furythree: So you’re saying most people spend every waking minute taking photos mr wumao?

              • @Icecold5000: no im saying there are people like you who obviously dont take that many
and there are people who do. Thats why different storage sizes exist for people with different needs. so stop gatekeeping something stupid like phone capacity

also youre totally forgetting the fact that people record videos on their phones

a 1080p or 4k video only a few minutes long is easily 3+gb. try taking a few of those on a holiday. and boom your phone is full before end of day

then try to get that data off without the convenience of SD cards which are slow in themselves

and then when youre on a plane, you have the flexibility to transfer your own tv and movies not available on the plane to watch as well.

There are tons of use cases that are not solved by "muh cloud, muh streaming"

        • You're a fool if you just keep them on your phone.

          • @Daabido: what if i told you that you can backup your photos and have them locally accessible as well? revolutionary i know

also with FHD-4k video, a few minutes long file is easily a few GBs

if you take alot of videos, just one trip or event could mean you run out of storage quick with no way to free up storage on the fly
and to access and transfer such large files, SD card storage is fast enough but still cant beat UFS3.0

            • +1

@furythree: don't waste your time converting the masses, they'd pick convenience over anything any day. no one cares what happens when they click the sync button as long as they don't lose their photos.
im with you but sadly we are doomed, it'll get harder and harder. its not a pain in the ass now to plug in a 256gb card into an otg reader and cut-paste my 4k vids mid way thru a holiday but when im old, and have forgotten to bring the otg reader im gonna give up too, they can stare at my naked photos all day long then :p

Both of which requires subscription to a certain degree. At least Pixel phones offer unlimited photo storage for free for a couple years. I already have 200+GB of photos and videos taken on my Pixel 2. Plus you can also transfer other photos and videos to upload via the phone.

And don't get me wrong, misus uses iPhone but she won't buy anything less than 128GB storage despite being on 80GB Optus Plan for $42.5/m.

You should rephrase. Why people buying iPhone at this $534 for a 4 year old phone?

      • +4

That hurt my brain. Perhaps you could rephrase.

        • +1

Oops. But I didnt understand 32gb for 534 lol

      • Incorrect, it’s just under 3 years old now, superseded only by the iPhone 8 if you look at the form factor.

Because it still performs better than comparatively priced android phones?

  • So only for Ebay Plus members?

    Deals on s10, s10e, v50

  • Friendly remind that Huawei is still in the US entity list and can be screwed anytime with a Trump tweet.

    • I'm personally not sure how much more America's economy can take before it starts properly affecting the masses, which will be their bottom line.

In any case valid point! The phones will still run on android but if the situation was reverted to what it was a month ago they would lose access to security updates, android updates and the google play store amongst other stuff. I'm pretty sure existing apps would continue to function as intended though, they would just be running on an older version of the playstore app.

No issues with current models and new apps update, no need concern.

  • So this Note 10/Note 10 plus is eligible for the preorder bonus right (AKG wireless headphones)??

    • no.

      • +6

Hmm so pay $1499 here only for Note 10 plus or pay $1699 and get $100 gift card + AKG wireless headphones in JB/Good guys/HN .

        No Deal !!

        • Yeh this 'deal' sucks.

        • You can pay….1599 on Amazon…+ AKG Wireless….Also eligible for 12% shopback or 10% cash reward….

        • You can try asking for a best price as well on the phone at JB HiFi

  • Pixel 3 link hits LG page. Or is it just me?

    • Updated the link

      • Ah. Might want to add it's an XL.

  • Any deals on the note 9 dual SIM ?

  • Seems like a good price for the V40 yes?

    • Yes, appears to be the best price it's been on here. I guess most LG fans pulled the trigger with the $400 V30 deal though, or waiting for it to be ~400 this time next year.

    • The only thing preventing me from getting this is that LG has been a bit shady with regular updates for non-Android One devices.

      • Because of security or just to get a new slicker ui? I don't think it really affects general usability that much. Saying that, it's true, their update rate is pretty slack.

        • Both. I am using Nexus 5X and was getting regular updates UI and security but that all stopped last Nov. Since then been lazily looking to upgrade on a good deal. Phone's been okay (slow at times) and still running Android 8.1.

          • @bigbadboogieman: Oh yeah… In that case by pretty slack I mean putrid. The v20 I'm using is a late 2016 phone but didn't get 8.0 til Jan this year. It was getting a bit slow, but 8.0 hums along well on it. Not holding my breath for 8.1

No p30 deal? I dont mind the bright colour spigen case will cover it.

  • Official google store is currently selling Pixel 3 at A$799

    • Think this is the XL

      • You are correct its Pixel 3 XL, Thanks!

        • Oh great, then it’s a bargain

  • P30 pro does come with NFC? It's not mentioned in the ebay description. Gsmarena confirmed, but not listing.
    Thanks

    • +1

Yes, P30 pro come with NFC

  • Can you do a deal of mate 20 pro please, pretty please.

  • not really a bargain

  • Awesome Deal

  • Thanks. After spending days contemplating a note 9 or mate 20, I ended up pulling the trigger on a v40. Only thing that worries me about buying an LG, as I'm coming from a G5 and knowing about bootloops. Has there been issues with LG and bootloops with their recent phones?

I would've chosen the mate 20 without a question, if it had normal micro SD. ah well I'm sure I'll be at this crossroads again in roughly 2yrs.

    • I bought a LG G6 thinking that the bootloop issue is history. However, after using the phone for just over 12 months, the bootloop issue occurred. I'm not going to touch LG anymore.
