  • Looks good.. would it be worthwhile as a gaming monitor.
is the 75mhz refresh rate worth it over the 60Mhz ? 75FPS vs 60FPS

Depends on your GPU. It's still Freesync so you'll get a smoother experience regardless.

As it's running at 1440p, depending on your GPU you'll be hard pressed to push any more frames out above 75 at max settings anyway.

yes, you'll notice it even on desktop

      it might be only 15hz but it's a 25% increase over 60hz.

    • You can tell the difference after a while, it is not massive, but you can tell 60 is "laggier" than 75. However if your GPU struggles at 1440p 75hz, it can do 60hz as well. I have VA version, and it has black crush issue. However I believe this is not an issue for IPS version

I got one of these a few months ago for my girlfriend, from the same seller for $280, I love it. As reviews suggest it does wobble a lot if you bump the desk, doesn't have a vesa mount for your own stand but you can buy an adapter for about $40 from memory. Another watch it, is that the cheaper ones of these models are the white versions which it looks like this listing is so make sure you are happy with white stand and backing before purchasing

Can you link to one of the $40 adapters you referred to? These looks like great screens for the $, but i do like having the extra desk space by having them on the mounting bracket instead! Cheers

  • Have 6 highly recommend. Great price.

6x 32" full screen ozbargain windows open at the same time?

  • can i get advice on this, im currently running a 24inch at 1080

    i still use a i7 2700k and a rx 480, so it has freesync.

so from my understanding to get the most from a monitor, you want to be able to draw as much frames as its refresh rate, so that means i would need to hit 75fps - i can manage and keep above this for all games im currently playing except bf v - which at times drops a tad below 60 if there is a lot going on (cpu bound).

im just thinking, is it worth purchasing this monitor, if i know i am really close to upgrading my system. should i hold off and aim to purchase a 144hz monitor instead - as when i do upgrade my system it will probably be to an 8 core ryzen and like a 2070 or something.

    • Yes- if this is where you’re budget is I have VA version and love it

    • I use a RX470 and i get 144FPS+ in the games i play but they are old games like League of legends.

  • Bought this for my wife a few months back - it's massive. Probably too big for computing. For gaming probably OK.

  • I have this monitor. Colours are great. Screen bleeding is minimal. It only has freesync version 1 but Can't complain. Worth it.

    $259.25 for me?

  • Now $267.75

    • This is turning into quite an investment…it's probably gonna reach $300 by months end!!!
