Dell P2411H 24" Computer Monitor - $165 + Postage @ Harris Technology

430

UPDATE: Dell called me at 3pm on Tuesday and offered to pricematch HT.
It was too late for me, I was carting mine home from North Ryde HT but anybody who wants one should be able to call Dell and get the pricematch…

The P2411H isn't the best monitor available, but it is a good work horse and found in thousands of offices around Australia.

At $165 + postage it is a steal given Dell.com.au want $329 delivered.

Postage is cheap - $9.98 to 2120.

Only a TN monitor but good value…

There might be a discount code for Harris Technology floating around out there - I've seen codes that give you a further 10% monitors before, but I don't know of a current one. If you do let us know!

  • How does it compare to http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/47731? I know this one is bit pricy buy wanted to know the comparison before I make up my mind?

    • +2

The U2311H is a better monitor. It offers displayport connectivity which the P2411H does not.

It also has better colour reproduction because it uses a higher quality IPS panel rather than the TN panel found in the P2411H.

However it is 1" smaller and costs ~35% more.

Bang for buck hard to go past the P2411H.

      • Thanks GreatWhiteHunter!

      • Well put GWH, we have these at work and can't go past them for bang for buck! For the average consumer it's fine for day to day use.

  • No HDMI port…good price but I need HDMI to connect my PS3.

    • Do you play sound through your monitor speakers?

      • lol, I say the same thing to other people as well
and if you really do want to use HDMI then get a adaptor

        • does ps3 have a vga port?

        • +2

Dont think it has VGA, but I assume you can simply use a DVI to HDMI lead to connect this upto the monitor and then use optical audio out to your speakers…

        • what stewy said. I've done this for ages, video to monitor using hdmi to dvi, and got the rca cables plugged into my logitech speakers

I got Dell to pricematch HT as suggested in the U2311H HT thread. Maybe you can do the same here and save on postage altogether. :) I bought 2 U2311H monitors to get the $50 AMEX cashback too. From what I have read, U2311H is way better, my dual monitor setup will be awesome.

    • You can try the pricematch on the P2411H but I already have without success. According to the Dell rep $165 is below cost and they won't match it…

      • Hope so. Considering dells price for this model is $329.00

      • I got knocked back on a price match on the P2411H too.

They told me the same thing - that it was below cost (I don't believe a word of it, but whatever).

mate can you please tell us this story of amex cash back?

      • Sorry to hear Dell won't price match P2411H. Bugger.. with the AMEX cash back, I think it's advertised on OzBargain some time ago, it's probably too late to sign up now since there is a 7500 people limit on the application and it expires tomorrow! You can still take a look if you like.

  • Note these are selling fast - stock levels have dropped in all stores in the last hour and also in the main warehouse…

    • Are you rep? ….

      • stock levels can be seen on the main page of HT.com.au

      • No - but you can see stock on the description page and all store stock has more than halved since I posted this…

North Ryde had more than 20 this morning, now only 1….

  • Great deal GWH! It reminded me of the $222 Ultrasharp deal HT had on. just ordered 2 x those + the 2 arm lcd mount they have on sale for $129. Expedited delivery says Friday or Monday I should have my new toys :)

  • postage $55 to NT

    • Call Dell - they may well price match with free delivery now…

      • too late already purchased this arvo :(

        • Call them and see if they have posted it yet - if not, cancel the order.

Dell called me about 3pm today and offered to price match the monitor - I expect you should all be able to get it for $165 direct from Dell now…

It was too late for me, I was carting mine home from North Ryde HT….

    • I just contacted Dell then, they would not match the price. I am guessing they have had a lot of enquiries because the Dell guy said "We cannot match HT" before I even mentioned where I had a price from

      • Hmm that is interesting given they called me to offer me that match yesterday…

The $159 monitor below sounds like a good deal too…

  • Have to question North Ryde store stock numbers too - online it says they have sold out, but they had plenty on the floor at 3pm….

  • By my reckoning based on their stock levels on the web, HT have sold over 250 of these today.

There is one listed at Dell outlet for $207 - I'm guessing someone ordered from Dell then saw this…

  • For someone thinking of using the U2311H for academic research (i.e. reading stuff all day long), would the UltraSharp become painfully sharp for the eyes? (in which case it'd be better going for this LCD?)

    Thanks :)

    • I would be more inclined to believe that this would really affect you due to the AG coating, as it does to me after a while.

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screen-door_effect

      EDIT: I have the U3011.

      • do you know if they use the same coating on the P2411H?

  • Not sure how it compares, but Dell have the ST2420L 24" Full HD Widescreen LED for $159

    • You should post that as a new deal. I actually prefer the rounded look of the ST2420L.

      $159 is a great price….

  • Can confirm that Dell will pricematch if you call up (just ordered 2 myself :D)

    • I must be unlucky, spoke to Dell again and the guy would only bring the price down to $249 :(
      Oh well, ordered from HT

I got 3… price matched with free delivery.
One for everyone in the family…no more fighting!

Arvin Morgan @ is very helpful.

    • thats nice of you mate, but maybe just switch on "other users can contact me" in ozbargain settings rather than post your own email in a public forum :| Not sure given length of time if you can still edit your message but I have reported it anyway.

Yea he was the one who pricematched the U2311H I bought too. He must be the one to talk to!

      • He is great.
        very helpful and prompt service!
        Hassle free!

  • Hey guys,

I have an Asus G73 and use hdmi.
If I were to buy this monitor ( I am going to ring Dell tomorrow and hopefully get them to price match HT, do I just ask them?), would something like this work?

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DVI-Male-HDMI-Female-Plug-Convert…

    Cheers

  • ANyone know if this has a VESA mount to hang on the wall

  • thanks champ.
Helping others and getting help back…

    cheers

  • Hey Guys,

I want to get this price matched today, can someone give me an email of a dell rep who will do it?

    Thanks very much

  • This item is now sold out

Keep an eye out for some more hot offers soon

  • Dell are still price matching. I have been in email discussions and will be placing my order today for $165 + free delivery.

    • when did you start emailing them? (they seem to know the offer's no longer available)

  • Hey folks, Dell seem to be willing to match the offer if I can provide them with anyone's order number to verify that they've been selling it at that price. If you could message yours to me, that'd be much appreciated.

    • If anyone could also PM me their order number from Dell for the pricematch, would greatly appreciate it.

        How?

        • was going from this

and seeming its from a user, i'm just a bit suspicious

        • @ me

          woops i read it wrong

          sorry monstersinc

      • Enlighten me.

        • I dont see how a PS3 related scam is relevant to this monitor.

This is no scam I've got one sitting on my desk now…

    • Monsters/Poopehz I'm sorry I can't help with an order number because I bought mine from HT after being told by Dell they wouldn't price match.

It was only when I was loading my monitor into the car at HT North Ryde that Dell called me and said they'd changed their mind and how many did I want to buy :)

I only needed one so HT got the business.

      • Hey GWH, no worries mate.

Thanks for letting us know :)
