  • I had these headphones for a little while, fantastic sound quality. Only reason I sold them was they were a little tight around my unnaturally large head. Would certainly recommend.

    • They are more V shaped than the cheaper HD range, never really got into these cans as they weren't super comfortable as my ears got super hot, and the top band has almost zero padding. Also the controls and voice prompts are the worst on any BT heaphone I have used.

      • Agreed re V shape, wired momentums sounded slightly muddy and sloppy in the bass region, vs the hd 25 which sounded more tight. Not sure it anything has changed with this new revision of momentum.

  • +1

Top of the headband having no padding was a deal-breaker for me with my buzzcut.

Ended up with the Sony XM3s and they have better noise cancellation, heaps more comfortable headband, and better user interface in my opinion.

That said the Sennheiser sound better to my ears.

    • +1

The build of the XM3 compared to these is so much more plasticy though hey.

  • Outdated design and features.

  • Highly recommend. I have had them for a couple of years now (the Ivory coloured ones) - still going strong. The padding on the headband is rather thin and not soft - but it is still not to bad on my bald noggin'. Comfort level for me is very acceptable.
    Sound quality is brilliant.
    Bluetooth works flawlessly.
    Cable is not captured.
    Nice bag comes with it.
NC is great for me - cancels out all ambience but conversations can still be heard though very muted. Suits me at home (when wifey wants my attention)
I also use them while smashing yard work and blast a mad concert while mowing or whatever. Great!

  • It looks like a very good deal.
I am a bit surprised that people do not vote for this deal.
One of the cons of these headphones is price.
But this deal make it even cheaper than Bose QC35 deals.

Anything wrong with these wireless headphones ?
Anything I need to know ?

    • QC35 has flatter sound (better?), better NC, better controls, better app, much more comfier (SIGNIFICANTLY!). So really depends on priorities.

If you are looking at long listening like flights/gaming/office then bose/xm3 are much better.

  • Respected reviewer "What Hi-Fi" gave these Sennheiser cans five stars.Xm3's are heavy when worn for long periods.Check out Audio Technica's ANC700BT,and there's better value out there than the QC35's these days.

    • Rtings are far better for reviews. I followed what hifi and got the momentum 2 and was severely disapointed. Rtings have a much more accurate and technical review process.

  • These are brilliant, got them for 248 a while back.

This is Ozbargain… everyone just seems to want the Sony's or Bose, even those these sound objectively better.
But if you care to try something different, and are willing to put up with worse NC (not terrible, but it isn't up to the standards of the others), these sound amazing.

    • -1

Only reason you get any of those is for NC, and they all sound quite average. These are only a marginal step up in some areas compared to qc35 and xm3. Amazing is definitely not accurate. They sound good for an anc set. Not loads better than the others at all.

      • -1

Yes they do. I have these, the XM3s and QC35s (and throw in the PSB M4U8s as well).
The Sennys are quite a bit better than the Bose and Sony's. About par with PSB with probably the edge going to PSB's sound, but it's arguable.

And "amazing" is relative, too. No, they're not amazing in the same sense as a 10k set of cans, but for this market, they're towards the top of the pile.

Again only for NC cans at this price are they competetive. There are wired cans for far less that blow these away. Also wireless cans that are far better that don't have NC. Momentum isn't even senheisers accurate budget series, just their budget casual series. HD series are more accurate and cheaper. Anyway glad you like them, just don't go towting these are the best cans etc. They just suit you, and perhaps you haven't tried many other sets or you need anc.

    • Its truly ozbargain when you are 4ever waiting for XM3's to go below sub $200 level since you keep on hearing rumors that XM4 release is pending..

  • +1

For me a deal breaker was that there is no way to turn off NC while in wireless mode.
Both Sony and Bose can do it (either via app or on the headset itself, or both).

I also checked price of used ones on gumtree : it is around $200, whereas Sony trending at ~$300.
So, in other words, if I will not be happy with Sony headphones I won't lose much selling it.
Unfortunately it is not the case With Sennheiser.

    And one more thing.
Momentum 2 was released in I reckon 2015.
4 years passed but there is no Momentum 3 with more advanced features has been released.
I like Sennheiser headphones but it looks like they are not keeping up with more advanced ones.
