About a decade ago, I stumbled upon a forum with a large number of radio enthusiasts that were modding old pocket radios like this for improved battery life. These sort of products are useful for the elderly and/or those who live without the internet.
I find that the battery lasts forever, anyway.

these are ok but check out the tecsun range if you want a quality AM/FM radio. not cheap but quick delivery from ebay from Hong Kong seller. yes there is more modern ways of listening to the radio but for some people the simplicity of a radio is all they want/need
