Paid a $130 more last week and got a Asus ROG Swift PG279Q instead ($805). 165Hz, 1440p IPS Gsync.
This seller shipped it fast, ETA was 2 weeks I got it in 3 days by courier.
This or the Aorus AD27QD? I know the Aorus has questionable response rates and some bad BLB but it seems Rtings and TFTCentral rate the Aorus favourably. The 27GL850 though is quite balanced but had poor contrast ratio for an IPS. I wonder how important is this for gaming, content consumption and some minor picture editing?
LG GL850 > AORUS AD27QD,
LG gives you:
- better colour gamut (135% sRGB seriously wtf) with 96% Adobe RGB (again wtf) and 95% for DCI-P3 (normal monitors are ~72% so ya, this is ALL THE COLOURS)
- faster response time
- Much newer, aorus came out start of the year compared to LG which came out today
- Cheaper
- comes with RGB mode for realistic photo editing rather than the usual over-saturated garbage
Aorus gives you:
- better contrast but again depends on the panel lottery, they both have avg 1:1000
- ???
But don't the Aorus also offer similar gamut (125% sRGB, 96% Adobe RGB and 95% DCI-P3) and its still a WCG panel. The HDR implementation is similar (meh) but it does have a higher peak brightness. Aorus also has RGB mode which is just as limiting as the LG because you can only change brightness in that mode.
I ask because my first AD27QD was pretty good but had to return due to severe BLB/glow. I'm thinking if I should switch to the LG for a safer bet.
Honestly, the reason why people jumped the gun with this monitor and not the Aorus is because it is about 200-300 cheaper than the next closest competitors. for ~$640 this is a really good price range for a premium tier 1440p 144hz monitor
@NigerianGirthLord: Yeah thats what I thought too. To save few hundred and just accept the poorer contrast. The AD27QD is too 'chunky' and takes a lot of space (depth wise).
@NigerianGirthLord: Ive had a u2711 for close to 11 years, nothing else has made me want to upgrade, and this is the first time i thought about buying a new screen specifically for gaming.
@garetz: Main difference between them is the freesync, 1ms, and 144hz.

Damn I have been looking for lg27gl850 and waiting for eBay list it up with 15%-20% off. I knew it will happen today. Once it listed up, I was watching at it and waiting for other seller list it up. Trying to find cheaper with 15%-20% off But I saw wireless 1 sold 45 and 7 left. I was like WTF so I don't want to miss out and lucky, i brought it before it's sold out. I came to this ozbargain and saw this deal. That's why it sold out so quick lol.

These guys are based in Parra but the shipping estimate is October 2nd. Wonder what the lengthy shipping time is given I live very close to that….
Waiting on new shipment from overseas, not delivery
Anyone received there's or had confirmation it's been sent? I managed to order one with about ~8 left however I haven't received anything post the tax invoice. The site has a general statement that they will send same day or next day depending on when you order (so long as not out of stock etc.) so I was expecting a dispatch notification today.
Won't be happy if this is cancelled.. already got disappointed when them candies from Amazon got cancelled cause price error. I also started eBay plus trial just for this.
I was the 2nd person who bought this and haven't got any confirmation either. Not gonna lie, I doubt they really have 52 in stock
However, normally for cancelled stuff like this it would've happened by now, 1-2 day late cancel is kinda dumb and a great way to get grumpy buyers.
The delivery said 9th-11th Sept which is also weird as stuff normally would be within the week if ordered on a day like Tuesday.
You won't really be able to do anything until 11th Sept as that is the time given to deliver by. So in my old mans words "Patience, young one"

I asked the seller because when I ordered it, it gave me confirmation for October delivery. So I asked can they confirm. The replied was to disregard my ETA for October and should start shipping out on this Friday at the lastest

They cancelled my order and refund me because they can't ship it to parcel locker and yes i forgot to change the delivery address. They cannot change the delivery address due Paypal seller protection policy. So I can't order it again but its sold out already and i asked what happened to my one. They also listed it up on amazon that I dont see it. I am pretty sure they lied about 52 in stock because they don't have them yet! they said more stock around in October. Never buy them again. I had a bad feeling about Wireless 1 before I ordered.

Huh so 27GL850 is 1440p, no different between 240hz and 144hz unless you play competition csgo. Also 1080p on 27 is look horrible.

@jordan23140: I am pretty sure those deliveries are from supplier rather than wireless 1 shop, just like I bought stuff from be-start, and the delivery was coming from dicker data. It’s weird they don’t update the delivery status.

I have seen this post when the item was in stock but for some stupid reason i decided to wait as i thought the price could go even lower, sort of starting to regret that (This also was the monitor i intended to purchase)
Although still need a Decent GPU for games Deciding between a 2070 Super and 5700 xt just really annoyed with the AIB pricing of cards atm.

I called them ~1 hour ago and apparently they'll ship on Friday, so we'll receive them next week. I'm assuming people who have already received them are in regional/rural areas so they shipped earlier to compensate longer delivery times.
I hope they provide tracking for shipping, I will not be impressed if I see an expensive monitor just sitting outside of my door for anyone to take.

Nope, haven't heard jack. Kinda peeved as its been nearly 2 weeks since I ordered it and there's little to no communication.
Look at the feedback for the item: most people will happily provide feedback and for this monitor there are only 2 responses out of 52 purchased, so I'm going to assume that 90% of people who've ordered still haven't received it (me thinks Lots of negative feedback if they take any longer)

Worth noting that I also purchased an SSD with this monitor and it wasn't included. I assume this will be treated as a separate order as the invoice attached to the LG box does not include said SSD.
