        I must have missed that price. I bought a pair back in May for $220AUD each.

        I believe these price changes are mostly linked to the weak Aussie dollar seen recently.

      Seagate are lesser quality.

        I have had both WD and Seagate fail. I haven't had to deal with WD for a long time but my current warranty claim with Seagate was painless.
