  • Dang, just bought one before the price drop…

  • +2

Is this not the same post as https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/480960 ?

  • +2

Do they now have always on display?

    • +1

      Not yet : (

    • -1

nope … and no wireless charging.

check the ozbargain for the pixel 3 xl … now that is an amazing phone!

      • +1

That notch though. Why is it that big?

        • +1

You can turn it off of you prefer bezel

          • +3

@matust: Pixel is an example of great inside bad outside. Samsung is an example of great outside bad inside.

            • +3

@[Deactivated]: That 4gb ram, makes it bad inside aswell.

              • -1

@linkii: Only difference that I can notice with 8gb OP6 vs 4Gb P3XL is that I lose browser tabs quicker.

              • +1

@linkii: Yeah, spec-wise Google is so bad, I don't understand why. Great OS, but poor spec.
I thought it is easy to implement top spec, considering Huawei, Samsung, OnePlus did so.
And there is obvious demand for it, given the over $1500 price and still selling.

          • @matust: Turn off the notch… OK! 🙄

        • +1

          For emergency plane landing.

      • +3

I replaced my Oneplus 5 with a pixel 3, and after 6 months am replacing that with the Oneplus 7. Oneplus is far better IMO.
Pixel camera is great, but its laggy, crashy, and the battery is poor.

      • No it's not.

    • If you are willing to root it you can enable it

  • +2

Bought one from 7272wil on Saturday with an extra $20 for express post. Can confirm it's yet to be dispatched. I did immediately send a message asking when I can expect dispatch and was given a fairly generic looking 3 business days dispatch response.

So I guess I'll see if I get a tracking number on Monday.

    • +3

I picked one up from the same seller on the previous deal and was a bit unsure about it due to his previous feedback. I didn't get updated with any tracking details or communication from the seller at all, but then the phone showed up a few days later quicker than expected.
      Would buy from again.

      • That makes me feel better :D As long as I get it next week I'm not too worried, saving $40 or so is worth an extra 2-3 days haha.

      • +1

I received my phone before they provide any tracking number…..

  • +2

I really cant buy a phone without wireless charging.

I had wireless charging on my Nexus 7 2013 tablet … yes, way back in 2013 .. like 6 years ago.

    • +13

Meh, wireless charging is pretty slow and makes your phone quite hot.

        • +8

Wireless chargers are the worst gimmick ever. Charges at about 10w. Often don't work with cases. Don't believe the hype

          • +1

@Pootie Tang: Maybe if they made wireless charging your ONLY option, but as a supplemental feature it's great.

      • wireless charging burned a feint ring into my phone skin.

        • +2

did the same to my foreskin

      • +1

My G7 charges at 15W wirelessly and doesn't get hot cause the charger has a fan built in.

    • Loved that tablet, mine was stolen by an Airbnb guest this year 😭

      • +2

yea .. i loved the Nexus 7 2013 plastic finish and light weight .. just needs a SD855 and small bezel and it would be amazing in 2020.

      • Did you get reimbursed the cost? Interested to hear how Airbnb handeled this.

        • +1

yes, had to report to the police, upload pictures of the tablet case that was left empty. Then ended up getting reimbursed the amount that I bought it for back in 2013 which was $378.

    • +1

My nexus 7 was the best thing I ever bought for about six months and then I hated ir

      • Touch screen issues?

        • Yeah it developed screen lift and the headphone jack only worked when you pushed the screen forcefully back down.

  • +2

For what it's worth I ordered from OZ Digital Online on Tuesday and it arrived yesterday. Ex HK via Fedex. Very impressed with the service. Based on this purchase I would recommend OZ Digital. BTW very very nice phone.. good value.

    • What's the estimated delivery time when you ordered? Since it says it will be delivered on 16th.. Just curious if they just want to give people a kind surprise.

    • any concerns with it being a HK stock? Oz Digital and 7272wil sell most of the current flagship phones alot cheaper but they're not aus stock.

  • +1

I ordered mine on Tuesday and it arrived yesterday too, also from Oz Digital Online.

    • It says delivery will be on 16th which will take a full week…must be a long wait. Did you get the similar estimated delivery time?

      • Yeah my estimate was for a week but it came way before that. Just my experience :)

        • Thanks you. Finally pull the trigger hope to get it sooner.

    • Was that the free delivery or did you pay $20 for Toll express.

      Also how’s the phone?

I’m thinking of getting oneplus 7

      • That was the free delivery! As a heads up it looks like the OnePlus 7T will have some big upgrades (including the 90Hz screen) for the same price as the OnePlus 7, and is due to be announced within the next month.

I'm actually out of the country for the next couple months so I haven't had a chance to play with it yet, it's safely waiting at home for me.

  • +1

Outstanding phone, the quality has blown me away. I'm a OnePlus fan now for sure !

  • off topic,
anyone deal on fast charging cable and block? need spare
and does the OPPO works on this?

    • I know VOOC and Dash charge are the exact same tech and work interchangeablely. It's one way to get a charger with an AU plug.

Now I'm not 1000% sure with Warp Charge but I believe Super VOOC and Warp Charge are also rebranded identical tech so will also fast charge and work interchangeablely.

No idea on deals, I'm definitely after a car charger but damn they're expensive.

  • Very attractive price,
But is there any way to get a warranty etc in case something happens to that phone?

    • Unsure about warranties but at the very least the phones will be covered by the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law

      • +1

An honest question - how exactly can the Australian Consumer Law help with a phone that has been bought from overseas store and doesnt have an official outlet/support here in Australia?

  • Man if the 7 had a 4000 mAh battery it would have been the perfect phone for me. What a price for a well supported, really low amount of bloatware, stock Android looking SD855 rocking phone!

Let's see how the 3800, mAh battery of the 7T does and what the prices is like.

    • +1

Look into the Redmi K20 Pro / 9T Pro. Better specs.

      • Heya. I actually do have the Mi 9T and 9T Pro on my radar, they seem like excellent phones. However my last two phones have been Xiaomi's and I figured it was time for a change. Plus I don't really like MiUi, it's not too bad visually but it's pretty aggressive when I comes to closing background apps and stuff.

I did custom rom my first Xiaomi but that caused some apps to stop working.

Been leaning towards the One Plus in recent times!

        • Yeh me too coming from xiaomi. But i hate curved screens.

      • Does it have a flat screen? I really like the oneplus 7 pro except the curve

        • +1

I've always had flat screen phones and was never a big fan of curved screens. I got the 7Pro a few weeks ago and must admit I've got very used to the curved screen and don't have any issues with it at all.

  • +3

Oneplus really need to release a 'mini' phone, ie, one with a 5"-5.5" screen with minimal bezels. Chuck in a 3.5mm jack, nfc, fm radio and I would buy that in a hearbeat.

The 7 (and most other flagships) are simply too big for one handed use.

    • I'd love that small screen idea as well!!
      I got a OP6 and I reckon it's a tad big

    • There's not much of a market for small flagships. No one is ever going to make a 5" flagship ever again lol

  • Can someone test and confirm that these phones here work properly in Australia?

I noticed on r/oneplus that americans are not happy with the signal of chinese version op7. Is it because the hardware is different from intl model or it is missing some bands that are required in the US?

    • +1

Works 100% in Australia, B28 included.

    • +1

OxygenOS has a 'signal cheating' feature in the ROM! Proof here

Also they work perfectly fine here and there are thousands of local users! There are no hardware differences between regional variants of the OnePlus 7/Pro.

      • Cheers, thats what i wanted to hear. Time to press BUY.

    • The gm1900 op7 I got from this deal a few weeks back does have all the LTE bands for Telstra (was watching the bands change through an app) but anecdotally it feels like it drops 4g back to 3g far more often then the Huawei mate 10 I was using before (or the Sony z5 before that)

      • So the chinese version might still be a bit inferior to intl version hardware wise

      • Any one here have the GM1913 on the Telstra network? Any similar issues to @pingponged ?

  • +1

The Pixel 3 XL in the other deal is a much better phone and deal for the software and camera you get. Overall a better package hands down

    • Pixel deal is targeted, i didnt get the code.
I would only buy P3xl because of its camera and warranty, but i prefer oneplus' software

  • Do we get an invoice to claim TRS?
Gm1913 is 110$ expensive. any difference between GM1910 VS GM1913?

    • +1

GM1910 is Chinese market variant with Hydrogen OS. Importer will flash it with Oxygen OS and it'll work like the GM1913 from then on in. GM1913 is a global market variant with Oxygen OS from factory. Other than that, I believe they're identical.

  • +1

I'd be all over one of these if it worked with Telstra/Boost but instead I'm zeroing in on a note 9

    • Why not

    • I have a one plus 5 - been using it on Telstra for the last 2 years no issues.
Even if its missing a band, I doubt you'll notice it.

      • oneplus 5 has full Telstra band too.

    • Works fine with Telstra/Boost, the only thing that won't work is VoLTE/VoWiFi for some reason, even with the 'hack' to make it work with other Aus carriers.

  • It is saying wrong code to me, is it because of ebay plus?

  • Any reason the code doesn't work…anyone tried it recently? Is it targeted?

  • yeh i used my ebay plus trial already. I'm happy to sign up but if the code doesn't work, no point and wasted the $49 fee

  • +2

I don't like the curved screen.

Also battery life is worse than 6T

If you have a 6T it's not worth an upgrade.

    • yep, the curved screens are really hard to use.

i had to sell my galaxy s10+ due to the stupid curved screen.

  • +1

Yeh i prefer flat screen. What other options are there? P30 also curved right

    • Pixel 3 XL is very nice with a flat screen (very tiny smoothed edge like the OP6) … but no huge curved like the OP7, S10, etc.

Good deals on the P3XL at the moment, due to the P4XL arriving very soon.

      • Thanks Matt, i didnt get a code and didnt want to risk the chargeback

  • Is there anyone's order marked as shipped? I havent received any news from them…

    • The status on my isn't shipped yet either

    • I had to nag them. They eventually marked as shipped. Had to nag them again for shipping number
They have FedExed from HK and shipped only after repeated follow up. Not exactly great service so far.

  • Is there any deal for this phone rn?

    • +1

      Was hoping the same.
Can't seem to find anything on ebay with the current 15%/20% off.
