  • I went through the drive through on the weekend and asked for a coupon special. She said they don't do them anymore and I nearly had a heart attack.

    Glad they're back

    • +4

Look at the bright side, you can still have a heart attack with all the HJ's you'll be eating in 5 days :)

  • +1

HJ Melbourne Central stopped accepting these vouchers two months ago. I had to leave

    • +2

These are new ones valid in 5 days time…

      • -7

Did you get what I'm saying? They refused to accept vouchers two months ago. I'm not saying these are not new ones.

        • +2

No problems getting them accepted at the HJ on Latrobe St x Elizabeth St.

  • +6

I stopped going to HJ when the paper vouchers stopped or just order the nugget and chips deal only now.

I don't go to mcdonalds unless there is a burger deal on the app.

My diet is much better for it though.

    • -3

      Soooo off topic

      • +7

It’s 100% on topic! Many people have the same feelings.

      • +1

        As was your comment?

    • +5

Allow me to tempt you …
No app voucher needed : McFeast meal $5 , drink + fries and the 1/4 pounder patty in there is 112g vs Whopper patty of 110g

      • +1

Ok thanks for the info. That cardboard and bacon burger in the last 5 dollar meal was horrible. Having said this the deals at HJ seem better to me as I really don't like to buy the sugar or fake sugar drinks.

        • +1

Yeah but I prefer the flame grilled taste patty from HJ

      • I thought mcfeast patty is smaller than quarter pounder patty.

        • Mcfeast uses the 1/4 pounder patty.

Mcfeast is basically a quarter pounder that replaces 1 of the 2 cheese slices with one tomato.

  • +1

How can one camera (In 2019) be so potato 🥔

    • +6

      Easy. It's not from 2019.

    • -1

My phone is from 2013, but I am waiting on a new phone from an ozbargain purchase this week!
I still expect any diagrams submitted here to be drawn in MS paint so I think potato cams are still valid. It is OzBargain, not OzBling.

    • +2

      And stop insulting potatoe

  • +1

I was honestly shocked when the paper vouchers were pulled. But I'm glad they're back, and hopefully, here to stay.

  • +15

noooooooo thats a big price jump on the 2 whopper jnrs + 2 small chips aka the best fast food deal in Australia

    • +14

Mate I feel your pain… RUOK?

      • Funny thing is HJ used to 'promote' RUOK signs on their windows. Not sure if they still now, haven't entered the shop for a while.

        • Maybe cause after eating their food people would generally get asked RUOK while they're throwing up lol

      • +1

        The sign should be:

        R U OK?

Eat nothing but fast food and you soon won't be ok.

    • It was $4.95 not that long ago.

    • +3

It was such a good deal I almost felt guilty ordering that and a frozen coke and only handing over $5.95

  • +8

Wonder how many of the people who have + voted this deal even bothered to look at the vouchers? Most of these are rubbish.

    • +12

HJ vouchers = default upvote. More so, as people feared they're gone for good.

      • +2

        It's like muscle memory now.

        • +1

          pavlov's whopper

  • +5

1.46 MB for that picture quality??

    • +3

      High definition potato

    • probably trolling everyone and attached a virus

  • +8

    No more $3.95 breakfast! :(

    • +1

      I noticed that too. :(

    • Yeah, spewin. 50¢ more now. I'll still get it though!

      • What's HJs coffee like?

        • +2

It used to be so bad it was almost laughable, it's now drinkable, if you are not a coffee snob.

      • Can U swap coffee with oj

  • Apparently my store doesn't accept these paper vouchers anymore.

    • +6

All stores were told this. Either the paper vouchers were always coming back, or they really did show a decrease in revenue.

      • ha!

  • 1995 called… they want their phone back

    • +2

Your call could not be connected. Please check the number, and try again. ⁹ ⁴ ⁷ ᴰ ² BEEP

      • +1

Optus wishes to advise that the number you have dialed, has been disconnected.

  • What’s the expiry date? My eyesight is failing me.

    • +1

If you can't read the title, I recommend getting a prescription :)
      Valid until November 25th.

      • +3

        Heading to OPSM now

        • +1

Should have gone to Specsavers :P

      • That seems long-running. Wasn't it monthly before?

Looks like they wanna keep selling these higher priced vouchers a little longer.

  • +1

That breaky meal is just never going back down is it. Bugger.

  • +8

It would be great if they just added all these to the app.

  • +1

    Fine Phone?

    • Delicious when deep fried

  • +1

    Price still goes up :weep:
But at least they are back \o/

  • +7

The prices are significantly higher… 2 Whopper Jr 2 small chips used to be what, $5.45?

It's a no from me dawg

    • +4

$5.25 I think. I used to eat that… No way I'm paying $7 for it now.

      • Yeah it was a proper bargain and the best deal to load up before a few bevvies after work!

    • It was the only voucher i used. I really miss the 2 for 1 at Subway.

  • +8

Hungry Jack puts the "Jack" to work

  • +4

I stopped using these since they discontinued the 2 x Extra Long Chicken Burgers on these vouchers… I can't seem to develop any liking for the other stuff on the vouchers.

  • +6

Jandakot HJ doesn't work anymore. use to pay 3.95 for brekkie now have to pay a wooping 7.95
    i'm asian and that is……unacceptabrewl

  • YEAH! Glad to see the vouchers are back. A couple of weeks ago a staff member at our local HJ'S said they were going with App instead and had given the vouchers away.

    • At my local the manager said the vouchers would be back this month. Was right.

  • No whopper jr. small meal :(

  • +6

Alright ozbargain, quick whip round to buy OP a new phone, this is tragic.

  • +1

LOL wasnt the 2 juniors and 2 fries 4.95 like sometime last year???

    • Yep. After that $5.25, then $5.95 and now $6.95 :(

  • +6

HJ used to be our sinful family go to, even though they are harder to get to.

Then they screwed over their onion rings
Then they did their App-eriment and made people stand there to scan a barcode on the phone like a begger, and one voucher each time as if they were selling you a treasure

Thank you HJ for making try the McFeast burger meal $5 and finding out that the patty size is actually 2g more than the Whopper
    Keep your ever-increasing vouchers.

Did I mentioned the fries are better at Macs?

    • +9

I agree with everything but the last statement.

Maccas might have the best fries yes, but they are the only one still really doing fries.
I prefer the thick cut HJ ones any day. And $2 for a large is alright. Preferred $1 small but oh well.

      • +1

The shoestring fries are only good when they're crisp - Not some overly soggy oiled worms.

I don't mind HJ ones but the salt is easily overpowering if that little bit too much.

        KFC/Nandos my fave chips.

        • +2

          Oporto has my favourite chips.
KFC are too inconsistent. You can get a batch of crunchy, salty chips and next time get some sad soggy lump of potato.
HJ I've never had an issue with over-salting aha, sometimes they are a bit under salted.
In regards to maccas fries, they always seem to come out "stale" even when hot? Got a batch prepared for me the other day and they were good, but nothing to write home about.

          • @pennypincher98: Ah I haven't eaten much Oporto. How's the food/value? I need to find more fast food chains to add to my list.
Don't know what to eat sometimes y'know and don't want the usuals.

That's why I like KFC even the clump of potato is fine for me haha. It's starch after all.

I had some really good Maccas fries fresh put the other day there was a audible crunch. Tbh they only get that 'perfect' 1/10th of the time thereabouts

            • +1

@capslock janitor: Oporto has great food but the prices they charge are ridiculous. I only go when it's a free burger promotion normally - ie birthday or the free burger recently for sending a "bland af" lunch

Also regarding the maccas crunch, 10% seems very generous aha

            • @capslock janitor: I reckon the best combo would be maccas fries done right with kfc seasoning on top

            • +1

@capslock janitor: I used send back fries that weren't cooked right and ask for a fresh batch.

              • @utopia:

                used

Why did you stop? I always feel awks

                • @capslock janitor: Ah, good question.
Back in the day, I couldn't/wouldn't swallow soggy fries and had no qualms going to the counter to demand for a fresh batch as a matter of principle/taste

I guess, these days, perhaps the occurance of soggy fries has been less, and really, I don't mind not eating a good portion of them.
Blame it on the curse of the keto mindset!

    • And back In the 90s they got rid of the Yumbo and Whaler burgers, no more apple pies and also changed their chicken nuggets. More recent issue is charging for extra sauce or mayo when most of the time they don't put enough on to begin with.

  • +2

Their prices are rising quite a bit yes, but tbh I'm just glad there are these vouchers again.

I wonder what's on the other side, I can see what I think are more deals?

  • +8

    Smart marketing HJs.

    Take aways the precious's.

Bring them back with higher prices.

    Profit.

    • +3

Against maccas monopoly its was an extremely risky move

  • For them to release vouchers about 1 month post stopping their usual cycle, may be due to a huge drop in sales.

I will probably no longer buy any of these as they are of no great value vs quality. Might go back to Grill’d from now on and pay a couple $ more…

    • How's Grill'd? never been.

      • +2

probably slightly better quality, but much higher prices. (think double or triple)

        • +1

I would go significantly better quality but also higher prices (2-3x as you say)

  • +5

Hungry Jack's must've saw a massive decline in customer flow and $$ after removing vouchers…

    • +1

I notice some of their stores are looking pretty run down these days.

  • +3

Photo taken from iphone 11 pro max

    ✌OP

  • Tried using it last few weeks at keilor Victoria and got refused. They said don't accept it anymore. I will try again when the new one starts

    • Probably because they had expired?

    • There was no vouchers for the last few weeks. Was app only vouchers which required account and can only be used once.

Now they're bringing back the vouchers.

You should check the expiry dates of the vouchers when using em.

  • Got refused with my voucher 2 days ago qld 4226 and Prices have been jacked up again seems each time they do a new voucher the price go up 20% and removed the breakfast no more HJ for me.

    • +1

      Probably because it had expired?

    • These vouchers have only just been released.

  • -3

No not expired.but me doing business with HJ has.

  • why not keep it simple ….whopper meal with chips and drink instead of this 2 whopper no drink or chips crap ….. not really targeted at a single person just going their for their daily lunch and getting a cheap combo ….. at least kfc give you free chips and drink with the survey so just buy a zinger or something, free chips and drink and you have a meal ….
