    HI Guy's
Anyone in ozb family have experience with/ own
    SHP-DP727 /SHS-P717 models?
i am planning to get one, just wanted to know more about it.

    • +1

      Hi APN,
If you have any questions I can help.
What questions do you have about the DP727 and P717?

    • +1

I have two of the SHS-P717 installed, have only been using it for a couple of months. No complaints or issues thus far. What info are you chasing?

      • Thanks for the reply,i just wanted to know the durability and whether you had any issues/complaints with SHP-DP727 /SHS-P717 models.
By your comment all looks good.

    • +3

Got an older model, 5 years and still going strong. No complaints and would buy it again if I moved.

      • Thats really good to know
how many times did you changed the battery in last 5 years?

No complaints for 5 years is a great thing.

        • +1

Every 3-4 months or so. But it gives you more than enough notice before going totally flat.

          • @RNDM: And what happen when battery flat, any backup option?

            • @CyberMurning: there is still a physical key backup

              • @impoze: The thing is i may get so used to keying in the pin or finger print or nfc, and at that only day you may need a key can be that day when i have kept key safely inside. :P
that is the scenario i am contemplating at the moment :P

            • @CyberMurning: Mine has external contacts for a D battery. So you just hold the battery against the metal pins and it should be good. And looks like newer models have a physics key. Again, when you have one of these locks the battery is not really an issue. The benefits of keyless and the overal design is worth it. I’ve not locked myself out.

It should start beeping like a week or more before it goes flat. But have more than enough eneloops

          • @RNDM: Does that means
(Approx. 12 month battery life) is false advertising.

yea that's great if we get enough notice, as i dont want to stand/sit outside of my home and stare at this expensive lock :P.

            • @APN Adelaide: Not sure if newer models are different.

            • +2

@APN Adelaide: 12 months is based on how many uses a day.
If your battery runs flat you can get a 9-volt battery to touch the 2 metal points on the the screen.
The power from the 9-volt battery will turn on the screen.

            • @APN Adelaide: I heard there is this one lock where you can power it with 9v battery when internal battery is flat. Then you can just left one 9v battery somewhere hidden and replace with new one each 6 month

              • @CyberMurning: yea true, can buy few and keep on different locations in case i locks myself out.

            • +1

@APN Adelaide: I forgot, also when the battery needs changing, it will add a delay in the unlocking process. So when you normally unlock your door it’s pretty quick. But then when your battery is running flat it adds the delay to start annoying you. So in that regard you will get into that habit of switching your battery because you start to become a little impatient.

              • @RNDM: oh ok
thats a good way to make us change battery :P

    • P717 is $500+ wow

    • If you have direct sunlight shinning on the glass panel….it will have scratch like cracks all over it. I have one.
Originally thought its birds, but ruled it out afterwards, so must be sunlight on my front door

  • How easy to hack these?
    Or how frequently they update/patch/support?

    • They are stand alone with no IP address, the keysharing works only if the lock is active ( screen is touched ) and the mobile phone is within few meters.

  • Is this fire safety approved?

    • +1

These are deadbolts, you can not install into fire doors.

    • +1

      Hi Punter1,
Unfortunately the Keyless Key isn't a fire rated door lock.

      • Then what happens when the fire kills the door lock mechanism and lock the people inside ?

        Burn?

        • +1

          Hi Lovepub,

Fire rating does not mean you can touch the hot lock and exit, its mainly to stop fire getting into your apartment or getting out of it.

In the case of Deadbolts, they ( all of them, all brands ) not fire rated due to Australian regulations. Its a complicated discussion, if you want to install a door lock into your apartment, you need to contact your body cooperate first, get their approvals, then check with hardware providers, whatever cuts you have on the door should match the cut the hardware provider did during fire ratings test.

These any good installing on a door completely exposed to the elements?

    • The lock may ware and tare over time quicker than normal if the elements are effecting the door lock such as rain or sun.

  • The permissions required on the (Android) app is VERY scary and un-necessary. I was contemplating purchasing, but this was a deal breaker.

    • pls explain

    • +1

Not sure how you can be so scared of a permission You can just say no

  • Can these be keyed alike (2+ locks with one key) ? Also can it be keyed to existing key (not same brand) ?

    • Hi Z28,
No 2 locks have the same set of keys so you wont be able to have the same keys on 2 locks.

  • For our current Samsung lock we can use our MYKI cards as RFID cards, do you know if this is likely to be possible with this lock? Our Samsung one is great but we are looking for a key over ride in case the lock breaks down completely. We do have a 9V battery in case of battery failure but we are concerned in the case of complete failure.

Haven't heard of these guys before, are they some subsidiary of Samsung, or completely different.

    • Wow that's cool. In nsw can we use opal? And when we deactivate that opal card (from website) will it also remove it's unlock function?

      • As far as I know it is intrinsic to the card itself, we program it into the lock by touching it in at setup. The lock has nothing to do with the MYKI network. I, assume, it would work with the Opal cards as well. The later Samsungs don't seem to have this function anymore but it works great for us. When I get the PIN wrong a couple of times I just pull out my card to stop me being locked out for 10 minutes.

  • How good is the UV protection of the unit. Our door get about 3-4 hours of direct sunlight in the afternoon.

    • No issues, comes with 2 years warranty.

    • +1

Dude further up says their's is cracked due to direct sunlight.

  • Does it have an IOS app, or only Android? Thanks

    • Both

  • Is there an iOS version of the mobile client app?

    Cheers.

    • Dear TheLocalDrunk

      Both.

I'm looking at the website on deadbolts, it is priced as $275 for KL-100S but on OP title it was $299?

    https://digitaldoorlocks.com.au/deadbolt-products/

      1. That page is already stating it's a sale price of $275
      2. If you go to the product page, it clearly shows $299 in grey crossed out.
  • How longs the sale on for? Always on sale weeks before pay…. thank god you don’t have zip or Afterpay hahahah

    • Until Monday or stock sold out.

      • Damn pay day Tuesday haha

  • Hi,
Can you generate temporary pin codes for access by visitors, or are the pin codes permanent?
    Thanks

    • Hi NotSpanky,
You can make 1 time passwords on the door lock and set the password to what ever you like.
After the 1 time password has been used the password will delete from the lock.
You can add regular passwords which will last on the door lock until you delete it.

This was one of my candidates when I was shopping for a digital/smart lock last month. Even PM'd OP at the time to ask for deal since they'd sold it at $175 before but no response :(

Ended up going for a Kwikset Kevo 2 - for 2 weeks before returning to Bunnings - Bluetooth proximity lock is great in theory but not so IRL

Now a happy user of the Lockly Secure Plus - despite what the top comments say on Amazon I never encounter any of those issues. The capacity fingerprint sensor is as good as TouchID partly due to its size. So reliable that I never got the need to use PIN instead. In-house remote unlock is gimmicky for works (Remote locking from afar needs a hub tho). One-time code can be generated remotely. Auto-lock after seconds/minutes of your choice. 9V battery backup and mechanical key override if needed. Pricey, yes, but speed and consistency is key for me.

  • This could be a silly question but is this suitable for the front main entrance door made out of wood? Or is there something I need to check to make sure it will work on my door?

    • Hi Keejoonc,
Only thing you need to check is the door thickness.
Thickness should be between 35mm to 45mm.

  • How is this compared to the Alfawise smartlock deal before? Anyone has feedback regarding this one vs the Alfawise one?

  • I have bought this and in fact you can have this deal even better.

    1. Create your account and you will receive an email with $20 coupon with $250 min spend.
    2. When you add 2 locks to cart, the price is even lower $163.93 each
    3. Apply the $20 coupon code T32F5789 and now you get 2 smartlocks for only $307.86

I just bought 2 for $154 each, damn good deal

    • Well its cheap yes but are they good? Not many reviews…

  • Hey OP please could you tell me what key profile, barrels and cylinders these locks come with so I know the keying options

    • Hi Flop,
It just comes with 2 x regular keys and just a normal key cylinder.

  • There is no handle for this lock so I'd need to install a separate handle for opening the door right?

I like the idea of this design… https://www.amazon.co.uk/Yale-YD-01-NOMOD-CH-Keyless-Connect…

  • any deal on SHP-DS510?

  • Did anyone that ordered, got a order confirmation or delivery update from these guys?
Haven't heard anything since the paypal transaction

    • You can call them to get the tracking number. I have received my order quite quickly. If you have not received your order it maybe lost or returned to sender.
